Chapter 58 Sick Little Female

The sound coming from downstairs is becoming louder and louder. Beastmen are coming to their home. Hu'er could even hear Aunt Qiao directing someone to put their things.

Everyone that is moving to Hu'er's home has arrived. However, her Daddies haven't gone up to her yet. Hu'er kept on waiting for them to go into her room.

It's very quiet on her floor though, she couldn't help but speak, "What do you think they brought here?"

"Hmm?" Jiu Lin dazedly looks at her. He's been listening downstairs to know what they have been doing. He is also making sure that no one will go up in Hu'er's room. From time to time his ears will twitch and move from side to side. Jiu Lin didn't expect Hu'er will talk when she was playing with her yarns.

Instead of repeating the same words, she phrased them well thinking Jiu Lin didn't understand her, "What are the things they moved here?"

Fully focused on Hu'er now. "Should be some blankets, bowls, and food. If they have very important things, they would also bring them," he answered.

"Can you clearly hear them?" Hu'er looks at his ears.

Jiu Lin's ears twitched. His ears are red, he nodded, "Yes."

"What are the things they have the most?" Hu'er looks at her yarns again. Making knots after knots.

"Mostly food and blankets." That's what he mostly heard them say.

Hu'er suddenly remembered something, "Did Aunt Qiao bring her ropes?" She glanced at Jiu Lin to see his ears move. Then, she looks down to hide her smile.

Jiu Lin smiles, "All her mates brought their own necklace ropes that are in the chest. She's reprimanding them for bringing those, instead of more blankets."

If Jiu Lin is in their position, he might do the same. He knew about those necklaces. Those things are very important gifts for them. If Hu'er gave him some, he will not hide it, he will wear it all.

Why would he care if it doesn't look good to wear if there is a lot? He will only care if there is none. Luckily, he got a bracelet, gifted by Hu'er. He is happy with it.

Hu'er nodded. She and Aunt Qiao have the same thoughts, "Bringing her gifts is a good one, but Aunt Qiao is right. Things that are needed should be the priority. Give Aunt Qiao more blankets. I have more anyway." Pointing at the bulks of fabric and furs.

Jiu Lin didn't say that he would do what Aunt Qiao's mate did if he also had such a gift. Instead, he assured her, "Don't worry, they will be given some blankets and utensils later."

Jiu Lin did remember his dads giving something to the visitors when the big snowstorm came. He also heard it earlier.

"Can you hear Daddies?" Hu'er tried to hear the voices downstairs but could only hear some of her Daddies. Even the voice of her Dada couldn't be heard.

Ke Rin is watching Hu'er's ears in fascination. He couldn't help but think that her ears are so cute. He badly wanted to touch it.

Ke Rin never expected that in his life he would actually have a time when he likes ears this much. 

"Yes, I can only hear them a little. Couldn't hear it clearly though." Jiu Lin is looking at Hu'er in amusement.

Beastmen have better hearing than females, only for a bit though. However, because they are trained and taught survival skills and to protect their females at a young age, this skill grew stronger.

Hu'er puffed her cheeks and gave up trying to hear her Daddies. "Are they all here?"

"I'm not sure," Jiu tried to pick up the sound downstairs and even recognize the voice one by one. Still, not all of their Daddies' voices can be heard.

Jiu Lin only said that he was not sure instead of telling her that he couldn't hear some of their Daddies because his hearing isn't that powerful. He couldn't hear the sound from the first floor and can only hear a bit of the noise on the second floor.

Hu'er worriedly looks at the window. Jiu Lin just cleaned it again and half of it is completely covered now. There are only little holes that can be seen.

"The sky is getting darker. I couldn't see it any light now." Hu'er pursed her lips.

"Hmm. Everything will be fine." Jiu Lin stood up and fully closed the cover of the window.

Jiu Hu could feel how cold the room is because of the open window but Hu'er like to look at it and she was very far away anyway. This time since it's dark and the snowstorm is nearly coming, he must cover it now.

Jiu Hu is still thinking of a way to fortify the window in case the snowstorm is too windy that might break the window.

Hu'er watches how Jiu Lin worked on the window. Their room has plunged into silence again. Hu'er worried heart made her unrest.

This is the second time she felt like this. The first one is about Jiu Lin and the female, whom she forgets the name of. Now it is connected to her Daddies.

This might also be connected to the book she read. She tried so hard to remember if she read any snowstorm in the book but she could feel that something was blocking her.

She saw that Jiu Lin was done with the window and couldn't help it anymore, "Can you see if all Daddies are in?"

"I'll go!" Ke Rin stood up and volunteered. Hu'er smiles at him and nodded. He immediately went down.

"Is there any problem? Are you uncomfortable?" Jiu Lin nearly ran toward her. He puts his hand on her forehead but Hu'er's temperature is normal.

Hu'er shook his head. "I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" Jiu Lin's eyes are full of worries.

Hu'er smiles at him, "Yes, I'm fine. Can you get me some berries?"

"Of course." Still worried, he went to the corner, where the food is, and washed the berries.

When Jiu Lin turned around, her eyes darken. She just hopes nothing bad will happen.
