Chapter 4: The Test

"The test is a one-on-one fight, you will match with a person that has similar Onyx like you, so there will be no advantage or disadvantage. The test will begin now."

Well, that's not what I expected and that's bad news.

"Hahaha, I can't believe that I will show my power this soon!"

"Oh man, my opponent will be so unlucky today!"

"WATCH CAREFULLY TO MY POWER!"

Everyone sounds excited about the one-on-one fight, even though they never see anyone's power. Well, I guess they all remember what power everyone has.

"Rey, you must see what I can do OKAY!! Do not… blink!" said Alan to me

Alan looks excited as always. Since he's already a High-Rank, I guess it will be entertaining to watch

On other hand, Alea doesn't mind about this, she might think she will win easily. I am not blaming her for that thoughts.

From the list, I think it's already balanced.

"HELL YEAH!! THIS WILL BE EASY! GET READY FOR YOUR WEAK ASS REY!" shout Jaden with his full confidence to me

I don't give a response, he has the right to have that much confidence. Looks like everyone is also satisfied with the list. But when I look back, there's a girl that looks really nervous, even Alea with a somewhat cold expression still grinning about the list.

"Change your clothes now and go to the school gym after that" Said miss Bresia to us

"Yes Ma'am"

We arrive at the school gym, it looks more like an arena rather than a gym. The first match, Hiro vs Trya. Both of them have ranged Onyx, but from different aspects like destruction power and agility aren't the same. Hiro might have better destructive power but Trya has the speed.

"START"

Hiro launches the first move by firing his laser directly at Trya. I admit that his laser's speed is so fast but Trya already predict it so she dodges it easily. This time, Trya launches her attack, she runs around the arena while firing her arrow. the mechanism from her Onyx is more like a mini energy crossbow appear from her arms, it's rapid but I don't think it deals enough damage. Hiro looks really struggling there, he only dodges Trya's attack by moving around by covering his head with his arms.

"Oh man, Hiro will lose easily if this keeps going," most of us think like that

Suddenly Hiro opens his arm and blasts his laser from his eyes, the power from it looks more powerful than before. Surprisingly, his attack hits Trya directly and that's really fatal to Trya until she almost flies out from the arena. So I was right, he's not actually struggling, he waited for his time to burst the energy that he saved while predicting Trya's movement. Since this arena doesn't have any props in it, Trya's choice to move fast only runs around the arena and it makes her movement so predictable.

Trya doesn't stand up but her hand with the bow aiming at Hiro while Hiro walks slowly to her with a smile on his face.

"You're done here Trya." He said it arrogantly

Trya fires her arrow at Hiro but Hiro catches the arrow.

"Only that?" Hiro laughs at her because the victor is so clear now

"Watch your back," said Trya

All arrows that Trya fired from earlier start moving so fast to Hiro from his back. The arrow that Trya fired is a magnet to her arrow that already she fired before. With the speed of sound, all Trya's arrows fly directly at Hiro's back. Hiro dodges it in time but it is really close. We all can see that those arrows rip Hiro's clothes. Suddenly all of those arrows explode while Hiro's dodging them. As a result, Hiro takes a lot of damage from that explosion.

Trya stands up and walks to Hiro who is already down and doesn't have enough energy to stand up.

"Smokes from the explosion earlier has an effect to drain your energy since you already burst your energy to your last blow, those smokes affect better to you," Trya explain her attack earlier to Hiro. I believe her arsenal not only that, she might have more in her sleeves.

"Match over, Trya wins!!"

"WHOOOAAAA"

"THAT'S AWESOME TRYA"

"HOW CAN YOU EVEN LOSE HIRO??"

what I can see from here is Hiro was too relying on his final blow while Trya has predicted what Hiro will do by makes her movement obvious. She knew that Hiro will do a reckless movement by releasing his ultimate early. In the end, it's all about how you think and read the opponent's mind.

The next match is already in preparation, I come to Alan to see how he prepares everything.

"Hey Alan, how's your preparation?"

"Hey Rey, it's all clear, I only need somebody stretch and ready to win hahaha, but it's been a while since the last time I fight with someone,"

Well, I think he has a higher chance to win rather than Hiro there. But the thing that catches on my eyes is his scars, gym clothe makes his scars on his arms more visible than before.

"Hey Alan, where did you get those scars from?" I can't help to ask about it

"Ahh, this? it's all from my hard training a few years ago," His tone is different, I know he's lying

"Well, Rey, thank you for checking up on me. It's time to win you know!"

Alan and Joe are already inside the arena.

"START"

Not like the previous match, both Alan and Joe launch their first blow by running to each other. Their speed seems tied. they start launching another and another blow. We barely can see their movement since they're so fast. Joe's Onyx might sound like he only can run fast, but the fact is because of his speed, his punch is also faster than ordinary speed, this makes his punches have multiple impulses even it's enough to destroy a thick wall. You also might think that his bone might break, but his bones already adapt to it.

Alan looks like enjoying it while Joe looks so tryhard to win this match. Alan's Onyx is a werewolf but he hasn't changed to a werewolf, this means that he's not even trying to show his power. This match only shows us their godly speed.

"Ok Joe, you're interesting. But it's time to finish this," said Alan while forming his arms into scary werewolf arms.

Alan uses his claw to finish Joe. Joe flies out from the arena, which means that the second match is over.

"Match over, Alan wins!!"

"What??? What just happened?"

"I can't see anything, it's too fast!"

everyone looks really surprised about the match and both Alan and Joes' super speed.

"Nice try Joe, you did good," Alan give Joe a hand to stands up

"Yeah, thanks Alan, you're so powerful. No wonder you are a High-Rank" It's really nice to have that sportsmanship in here

"Rey, Good luck with your match," Alea suddenly grabs my shoulder

"I know you are a Low-Rank, but the real fight isn't about your level or your rank, it's about how you control the fight with your brain and mental," Alea try to motivate me, but I had already not interested in this event since the beginning.

"Thanks, Alea, I need to go to the preparation room now, see ya"

My opponent is Jaden, his Onyx seems so powerful. Not just he can pull everything to the ground but he can multiply his punching power too just like me. It would be a problem if he uses his maximum power. But then once again, I am not interested in this match.

Jaden and I are already in the arena. He looks at me with soo much confidence in his eyes

"Hey, Rey, Ready to get beaten off?" Jaden tries to humiliate me with his word

"Miss Bresia, can I give up already?" I ask miss Bresia to end this quickly

"No of course you can't Rey. Please do your best,"

I know she will say that.

"START"

Jaden's gravity pull is already set below me, it's heavier than I thought. Jaden suddenly jump into me ready to throw his punch into my face

ALAN'S POV

This... This is bad! in this state, Rey will have a fatal hit from Jaden! Oh man, I hope I can jump into the arena and help him but... This is bad... THIS IS SO BAD!!

Jaden's punch makes a powerful hit I think it breaks the arena and because of that, dust covering the arena. No one can see what happened. As soon as the dust fades away, every eye is in the same spot. Everyone is surprised at what they see, Jaden misses his super punch and Rey is just standing besides him.

"How did I miss??" Jaden looks really confused while Rey is just glaring at Jaden beside him and ready to land his punch
