She embodied sensuality and undeniable charm that no man or woman could deny. Whether they were upright or bent, everyone's gaze was pulled to her. Her smile, frown, and every slight movement she made were enough to affect one’s mentality for the whole day. She was the charmer who was appointed and recognized by everyone in the school, whether they were teachers or students. She was that popular. In this charmer's world, there was no such thing as love. Love was a disease that perverted people's minds and led them astray, and she didn't want to live in such a world. But everything changed when he unexpectedly marched into her life, surprising her. Forcing her to break down the barriers she had up for more than two decades. He was the only one who was present. And he wasn't afraid to take what he wanted since he had the means. For him, being in love was a waste of time, and being faithful to one person was not his strong suit. Why bother investing in a single tree when he could own the entire forest? And when he saw her, his life was turned upside down. For him, it was love at first sight. He disliked it at first but eventually came to respect and like it. This sensation was novel to him and seemed unreal. He was completely in love with her, but her defenses were far too high and strong for him to break through. Will this prince charming and playboy from another school be able to captivate and seduce the school charmer? Will she be able to tear down the barriers she had built to allow him entry into her world, or will she continue to keep him at a distance?
Back then, she chose van life. The kind of life where one takes a van as a dwelling and lives in it as a house.
However, instead of finding a moving van like most people did, especially those who found traveling much fun. Darica chose another way.
The person who introduced her to that kind of life happened to have a van at the back of her house and, according to her, the woman had been using the van part-time whenever she wanted a thrill of staying outside.
However, after experiencing that kind of life, she was fed up with it and wanted to travel. So, she wanted someone to be a caretaker at her house but would be living in that van.
Darica upon hearing that back then, felt as if Mana had fallen right into her hands without her asking.
So, she quickly agreed, for the van came with everything and since she would be taking care of the whole house, she wasn't required to pay any rent or anything like that.
It was her living there for free and in return, she won't be paid. Although this seemed to be unfair on another side, back then, she, who had a huge family to lead and feed, needed it so badly that she agreed.
That was how she started the van life. Although the space was small, it was very suitable for it forced her to only spend money on items that she really needed.
Only if she had a lot of money, wouldn't her life be great?
Thankfully, the time of pressure and lamenting was over. Although the current her wasn't still rich, she was at least in a better place than she was years ago.
Gaining that student council president's position greatly proved to be the greatest thing that she ever did. For it came with many benefits that every time she and the Dean came across each other, sparks would fly, but she wasn't afraid of that hag at all.
If she was not dirty, would she have been so unlucky to get blackmailed?
Thinking all of this, as she drove, she soon spotted the turn she had to take to reach her final destination. And seeing that turn, a smile couldn't help but spread on her face.
If it wasn't for the Dean again, would she be smiling at this moment? That would be impossible. So, in another way, she was indeed very grateful towards the woman and still loathed the other for how shameless she was.
But on second thoughts when she thought about shamelessness, wasn't she also the same?
Thinking up to this point, Darica couldn't help but break into a chuckle, 'Life is indeed very funny.'
The turn soon came, and she followed the road with ease and familiarity.
As she drove her car on the gravel road with tall trees on the sides, she couldn't help but praise herself inwardly for being courageous.
It looked as if she was entering a forest and this was all due to the trees that guarded the road, however, that wasn't the case.
The area that she was in was very well known for its numerous farms, and it was also one hour away from the school.
Grandview University wasn't located in some center of town but nearly on the outskirts of Avia, the city where she was living at the moment.
Avia being one of the major cities of Greatia, the country that she was very proud of, was so huge despite having many people living in it. There was still plenty of land available for use.
The trees surrounding her just happened to be part of the land of some bigshot landowners. People that she would never get to meet with her lower status.
However, it was also on this part of the land that she, a nobody, happened to have something that she was very proud of as a human being. And especially one that struggled most of her life to earn a single penny.
After taking the turn and driving for some minutes since the road wasn't the best, and after passing approximately two football fields, another turn on the right appeared.
And as she took this turn, facing a black gate a few meters away from the main gravel road, a smile crept on her face.
"Home sweet home," she said as she looked at it.
In that part of the world where only the rich people reign, Darica happened to own a piece of land. And it was one that she was currently driving towards.
That land was her haven. All her hard-earned money went into that and although getting that land nearly drained her, she was happy that she made that choice.
For that decision, not only was it going to benefit her, but the people that mattered the most to her.
Before her car reached the gate, she started honking and, after doing it three times; she stopped.
She soon reached the gate and just parked there, but luckily she didn't get to wait for long before someone appeared in her view running.
Seeing that person, a gratified smile couldn't help but spread on her face.
There were so many things that she was thankful for and people that she owed that. People who molded her into the person she is today.
If it weren't for them, she didn't want to think of where she would be. Her future would have probably been bleak or she would have been long forgotten.
So, she was very grateful for the small and big things people like that man opening the gate at that moment did in her life.
For they saved her life and, in many ways, one couldn't even start to imagine.
The black gate opened fully and Darica rolled down the car window as she drove inside. Sticking her head outside, she stuck her tongue out playfully at the man before she received a scolding, making her laugh all the way to the shed that was the car parking space in that special land of hers.
"How many times have I told you that it is not cool to do that?" the man scolded.
Parking her car under the shed, Darica rolled the windows up and took out everything from the car before switching off the ignition.
After making sure that everything was set, she got out of the car and locked the car before making her way to one of her favorite places on the land.
Her abode.
