Xander's POV

Xander slowly opened his eyes, movement waking him up. He looked up to see that Jayce was trying to move him, Artemis meanwhile was holding a blanket, Xander almost lying on top of her.

Artemis, noticing that they had woken him up, winced softly, "Sorry, we didn't mean to wake you…"

Xander quickly sat up rubbing a hand over his face to wake himself up properly. He couldn't believe he had fallen asleep and on top of Artemis at that too.

"It's fine…" He muttered. "Did the movie finish?"

"Yeah, five minutes ago. You were sleeping so soundly that we didn't want to wake up…Well, I didn't want to wake you…Jayce here wanted to do so but-"

"But you're awake now, so could you get off my bed." Jayce interrupted.

"Alright, I'm getting up." Xander sighed, standing up and stretching.

He yawned, looking down at Artemis who was still sitting on couch., stretching out her arm.

"I wasn't too heavy, was I?" He looked at her, embarrassed with himself.

"No…" Artemis smiled. "I'm just sore from sitting in the same spot."

"Because someone was sleeping on you and you are too kind to wake them." Jayce rolled his eyes.

"Shut it you grump." Artemis scolded Jayce, making Xander's wolf happy their mate was coming to their defense. "No need to be mean because of what happened."

"What happened?" Xander asked in confusion.

"Well-" Artemis started but Jayce covered her mouth with his hand.

"Okay, I'll say sorry…Just don't…" Jayce muttered, turning his head away.

Artemis moved his hand from her mouth and smirked at Jayce. "Okay, fanboy…I'll keep your secret. Now say sorry."

Xander wanted to laugh at the sight of a rival pack leader being beaten by the little female sitting on the couch. But he knew Artemis would turn to him next if he made a sound. He was happy to stick to Artemis' good side, knowing she was scary when it came to revenge.

"Alright…" Jayce sighed, turning to look at Xander. He straightened himself and grumbled, "Sorry."

"Say it properly." Artemis slapped Jayce's arm, getting up from the couch.

Jayce looked at her, Artemis winning some kind of staring contest between the two. It made Xander realize that despite Jayce and him being alphas and pack leaders, if they ever continued this relationship with Artemis and became proper mates, Artemis was going to be the one wearing the pants in their relationship.

"Fine…I offer my sincerest apologies to you Xander."

Artemis glared at Jayce and Xander knew if he didn't say something, someone was going to land up having his bags packed.

"It's fine…I accept your apology." Xander said.

Artemis stared at him for a second before sighing "Alright then…I'm off to bed then. Thanks for tonight you two…It was nice."

"You're welcome…And goodnight." Xander nodded.

"Yeah goodnight…" Jayce murmured while picking up the blanket on the couch.

After that she left Xander and Jayce in the sitting room as she headed for bed. Xander watched her as she left, turning to face Jayce once she was gone.

"Guess, I'll be heading to bed too…" Xander said as Jayce sat back down on the couch, grabbing a pillow.

"You're going back to sleep?"

"I guess…" Xander muttered.

Although he knew he probably wouldn't be able to sleep until he took a shower. He could smell Artemis' scent all over him and it was driving his wolf crazy. He had only realized it after Artemis had left, that he could still smell her scent.

"Alright…sweet dreams I guess…" Jayce grumbled, wrapping himself with the blanket before lying down on the couch.

Xander rolled his eyes not in the mood to get into another wits fight with the younger male, deciding to ignore the comment instead.

He made his way back to his room, locking the door behind him. Walking through the tidy room, he noticed that Jayce had created a mess in the corner of his bedroom, leaving clothes and other things across the floor.

Xander felt his eyes twitch, annoyed that the other male had left such a mess in his room. Taking a breath to calm himself, Xander grabbed some clothes from his drawer and headed to his bathroom to take a cold shower.

****

Xander awoke as sunlight started streaming into his room through the thin curtains covering his window. He sat up, yawning away the sleepiness inside of him. Looking over at his clock which sat on the nightstand next to his bed, he saw that it was 8 am.

He got out of bed and decided to do a quick run through the forest before the others woke up, knowing that Artemis was usually only up at 9 am on Sundays.

He quickly changed into his blue sweatpants, planning to run in his wolf form as it was quicker and he could sense things better.

He then headed through the quiet house and out the front door. He walked to the side of the house where the forest lay, walking towards it.

After heading some distance away from civilization, he swiftly stripped out his pants and transformed into his wolf, bones breaking as he transformed. It was a little painful at first but he was used to the pain.

After transforming for the first time as a pup, most became used to the pain, some even forgetting about it.

When he fully transformed, walked through the forest, marking some of the trees because of the wild animals that lived in the forest, before he ran, enjoying the light breeze and pine scent that hit him as made his way through the forest.

His inner wolf howled, wanting for them to keep running and playing through the forest, but he knew he had to go back. A lot of people were counting on him.
