What Is This?

"Another day of no progress." A voice said.

In an apartment building on the top floor, there was a black-haired man wearing glasses around 20 years of age leaning on the edge of his balcony scanning the wide city around him. This was Kanzaki Woods, he's a man that just finished college and began his journey into adulthood but there was only one problem.

He hated what he was doing.

Not only did he hate his time throughout all of high school but the degree he decided to get was something that he wasn't even remotely passionate about. The degree itself would have been absurdly expensive to get considering the books he would have to buy and the tuition for the college itself but luckily he had been smart enough to get a full-ride scholarship to a smaller college in the city otherwise he more than likely wouldn't have gone.

While it may not have been the most prestigious school it still got the job done. Kanzaki was proud of himself for pushing through all of college but it still didn't take away from the fact that he had no interest in pursuing the degree he got. The only reason he got it in the first place was to ensure he had some sort of backup plan if everything went wrong.

As for the main plan, well he had no idea. Kanzaki had searched through as many textbooks and online forums that he could find to find something that might peak his interest but there was nothing really high on his list. He did enjoy reading novels and playing games online but jobs that were like that weren't really that stable.

He tried writing novels online but it failed miserably causing him to quit quickly. As for playing games for a profit, he had nowhere near the skill level required to do that sort of thing but as for just streaming he didn't really like showing himself on camera and considered himself somewhat shy.

"Blehhh." Kanzaki said making a tired noise as he held his body over his balcony looking down at the cars going by below.

Kanzaki then took out his phone and quickly swiped to his banking app to look at his current balance, "2 weeks left." Kanzaki said with a sad look on his face as he looked at his balance.

He only had 2 weeks worth of money left before he ran out completely. His rent payment was due next week and he could pay that but he would only have enough money after that to have food for another week.

Once that timer was up it would finally be time to get a job with his degree and enter the normal everyday workforce. Just the thought of it truly bothered him and the more he thought about it the more annoyed he got so he walked inside.

Once he walked inside his one-room apartment Kanzaki quickly sat at the desk he had at the front of the room that held his only pc. He had one monitor with a mouse and keyboard that he found bundled at a Good Will store. As for his pc, it wasn't the newest technology but it was just enough to run everything that he wanted or ever needed to.

Kanzaki quickly typed in his password opening up the home screen of his computer. His background was a picture of an ocean. Kanzaki had always had a fascination with oceans and the way that they sound so he always kept it as his background but that wasn't what he was focused on at that moment.

Kanzaki quickly moved his cursor over to his favorite game and was about to click it to begin playing but for some reason he stopped dead in his tracks. Kanzaki began having a change of heart and he then moved his cursor to a different direction deciding to check out his favorite streaming platform called Witch.

Witch was a very popular platform that had been growing at an astonishing rate recently due to the influx of people trying to make it big as a streamer. There were multiple different types of streamers with some walking around in other countries with cameras in their hand, there were some that simply chatted with people, and then there were those that played video games to a live audience.

Each one of these had different types of skills needed to be good at what they do. Despite how it looked on the outside it was by no means an easy job, or at least that's what Kanzaki thought.

Once Kanzaki logged onto the platform he quickly went to the streamer section with people playing games. Once he was there he filtered through until he was in a section with only people playing his favorite games.

As he began scrolling through the streamers he suddenly came across one that was much different from the rest. There wasn't a face cam showing a real person but the screen was also not blank without any type of person shown on the screen.

Instead, there was an anime character placed at the bottom left corner of the stream. Intrigued by the strange sight Kanzaki quickly clicked on the stream causing the scene to become live and show that the anime character wasn't sitting still but was actually moving back and forth.

"Welcome all my new viewers! It's so nice to have you all here! Don't forget to follow if you like the stream!" The streamer spoke suddenly showing that they had a female voice but Kanzaki wasn't focused on that part instead he was focused on the fact that when the streamer spoke the lips of the character moved!

The character that this streamer had seemed to be an angel of sorts with all the clothes being white. The character even included a halo and white angel wings!

"This is amazing!" Kanzaki said out loud as he continued to watch the streamer. As he continued watching he learned that this streamer had apparently had the same mindset as Kanzaki about not wanting to show their face but with this new anime character they have been able to get past that and start streaming themselves which by the constant list of donations coming in seemed to be going quite well.
