Beginning of The Labyrinth

“This is a punishment. You won’t remember what happened. You will never remember your sister, as she won’t remember you.” Then grabbed her left arm, and injected the fluid. Making Ellenore feel a little dizzy, her last words were, “Why won’t she remember me,” then heard the last thing the man said. “She’s being experimented on. Just a little surgery to implant a chip in her head where we can control the minds. Same with the others, same for you. Tomorrow, you won’t remember that nine year old brat,” and walked out. Before the girl can do anything, she faded into darkness. The next day, Ellenore woke up in her darkened gloomy dorm with a headache. She would turn on the light switch to brighten up the room a bit, but it will hurt her eyes. She was thankful for what the people gives her. It was pancakes, her favorite, but wasn’t hungry. “I guess I’ll just have it later,” she thought, and left it on the table. All she was wondering was what happened. She looked at the door in front of her, wanting to remember what happened yesterday, wishing she can get all the answers to the questions she has someday. She stood up and walked towards it to see if it was locked. Turning the knob, it wasn’t. She opened the door and looked from left, right, and ahead at the empty hallways. She felt determined to get back to work, as it is the only way to find a cure.

Chapter 9

"Okay Group A, you all have been tested enough and are going to have powers. Now it may hurt a bit once the pain kicks in, but don't worry," Emily said in a serious tone, but her eyes showed pain without anyone realizing it, including Hailey, Mya and Etta.

"But what about you and Ellenore?," asks Hailey. Emily looked at her, avoiding the question, saying, "You all won't remember each other, your new life will be in what we created. Camillia will be helping with erasing your memories except for your name and power, and will implant a new memory. Except for the memory of training, those skills will be needed. Now, I will call the name, subject, and the element you all will have. Starting with Etta, A7, the Considerate, power is to control water. Hailey Dells, A2, The Boss, power is to control the weather based on your moods. Mya Jacqueline, A10, The Stable, power is to control fire…"

Ellenore was in the Security room looking at the security camera from Group B on the left wall and Group C on the right. None of them tried to go through the East or West doors.

'I don't blame you guys, I wouldn't go through them either,' she thought. Ellenore wished she could go back in time to see what happened to Mya Jacqueline, Vence, Hailey, and Etta. They were mainly the people she seen for sometime. "I wonder what happened to me. The folders that Mya gave to me that night, I wonder where it's at," Ellenore said to herself as she got up and left out of the room.

"Hey Emily, where's Mya?," Ellenore asks Emily in a worried tone, "it's not too late for me to ask her a quick question, right?." Emily just smiled, and said, "It's too late Ell', they are already being sent," and walked away.

Making Ellenore a little mad, she pushed Emily into a wall and slapped her across the face, leaving a red handprint on her left cheek before punching her in the stomach harshly as she coughed up a little bit of blood. And Ellenore walked away, upest.

Ellenore went back to the security room to watch the cameras, but when she went in there, she saw a young boy. He looked like Mya's age when she first arrived there, but he looked terrified from what he sees on the screen.

"My cousin, Mya, why did this happen to her? I never thought I would have any relatives still alive after my parents were killed," said the young boy, then turned around, then surprised Ellenore. "Hi Daniella, if that's even your name anymore, I'm Jodin."

"Hi," she said, "I'm Ellenore," and slowly walked towards Jodin like he was one of the people that worked there. He turned away to look at the screen of the people in the arena once more, almost as if he didn't want to see her face. "You did this?," he asked. Ellenore didn't respond. She looked down and closed her eyes in shame. "It's ok, it's not like you knew that the chancellor here was related to your mother anyway," Jodin said, and looked back at his other cousin.

"What do you mean?," Ellenore asks, shocked by Jodin's words, "there's no way we are related to that person, that can't be tru-," "Ellenore, Aunt Chyanne and Zena are sisters and went their separate ways before you was born. Zena was a scientist, Chyanne was just a stay-at-home mother taking care of you and your sister, and our Aunt is the one who created this mess across America. Zena took me in when my uncle died, and she never cared about you, your sister, or your parents. She wanted all of you to be killed, all because your mother was the most favorite of all in the family. She wanted to have a family. She was jealous of Chyanne. Think about this, before our time comes," Jodin walks out the room, leaving Ellenore in disbelief. She was trying to process as much as she could.

'Am I really related to this crazy person that caused this mess, and basically killed and destroyed my family,' she thought, and begun marching her way to the chancellor's room.

"Chancellor Zena, your nephew is here to speak with you before he departs his way into the arena," a female guard said. The boss signals the guard to let the boy in. "Is there anything you'd like to talk about?," she asked, as she gestured to the guard to leave the room. "It's not what I want to talk about, it's about you not telling Myahney or Daniella why you did this," he said. Zena looked at him suspiciously. "You didn't tell Ellenore, did you?"

"Well, it is such a perfect timing. I should get going into this arena that you had your one niece help create while the other is probably going to die soon," Jodin said, and walked out smiling, leaving his Aunt in shock.
