Chapter 6: Praying the Gods

It soon was going to be night, and Wang Cheng wanted to go Shanghai but the car he was driving could no longer operate as such he had no choice but to search other cars but Wang Cheng doubted he could find a car in a place like this. Even so, travelling in the night would no doubt be courting death. In daylight, he had encountered so many beasts and nearly lost his life, if he were to travel in the night don't even mention it. So, Wang Cheng decided to sleep until it was morning. Wang Cheng knew sleeping with no protection will make him a vulnerable target, so he climbed the tree and covered himself in leaves. He was an expert climber, and he had even been nicknamed monkey. Even though sleeping in a branch was uncomfortable life was more precious than being comfortable.

He had also covered himself in mud just in case the wolves may appear.

As the sun set, light was soon replaced by darkness and the monsters emerged. Some of these monsters looked even more ferocious and stronger than the Wolf lord. Some monsters had no heads while some monsters had four arms, there were even huge spiders though they were small compared to the wolf lord they were more terrifying than wolf lord. Wang Cheng was very glad he didn't travel in night otherwise him living would be considered the greatest miracle but Wang Cheng could no longer sleep due to the presence of the monsters. Each of these monsters were terrifying enough but a terrifying monster appeared. The monster was like a T-rex but it was smaller though bigger than the wolf lord by at least two times and it was so terrifying even other monsters comparable to the wolf lord backed down, and seem to fear it. Another monster appeared but it was far less terrifying. It looked like an ant, but it was the size of a human. The T-rex monster looked at the ant monster who was getting its way and squashed it like nothing.

Wang Cheng looked at the squashed ant monster and thought "I guess even in the monster society only the strong has the qualifications to live."

Wang Cheng sighed in his heart and Suddenly, he noticed something. The ground was seemingly shaking, and even other monsters looked worried. Wang Cheng couldn't believe what he was seeing. Ant monster popped up like an endless stream of water and charged towards the T-rex monster. The T-rex monster roared so loudly Wang Cheng nearly fell from the tree. The ant monsters charged towards the T-rex and started to bite it. The T-rex monster squashed many but more he squashed the more they appeared. It looked like the ant monsters were endless and the most terrifying part was they didn't fear death. Even though many died they didn't care and still charged. The T-rex monster then raised his one of his leg and banged it. The ground started to crack in half and the earthquake came. It looked like the ants monsters would back down, but Wang Cheng was dead wrong. From the crack made by the T-rex monster even more ant monsters came and attacked not only the T-rex but other monsters too.

The T-rex was soon covered by ant monsters, and the T-rex struggled to live and after sometime the ant monsters killed it. The ant monsters didn't eat the T-rex, but they tore the body parts only leaving parts. They couldn't consume.

The ant monsters then looked at their another prey the monsters who were watching their battle. Soon many of the monsters were killed and only few lucky ones ran away, the monster ants started to dissect their body and took them to their nest. All in while Wang Cheng silently prayed the gods they wouldn't find him otherwise no one would be able to save him unless the gods or the devil decided to save him. Wang Cheng simply couldn't imagine how humanity would be able to survive if the ant monsters attacked human settlements. If they ever attacked human settlements Wang Chen simply couldn't imagine how terrible it would be. Wang Cheng swore unless he was powerful enough to face them he wouldn't dare provoke the ant monsters. Now he simply couldn't afford to provoke them. If he dared to provoke them gods knows what would happen to him.

Just as Wang Cheng was praying the gods an ant monster climbed the tree and came near him. Wang Cheng was terrified but didn't dare to utter a single word. He wasn't shivering, but in his heart he was begging the gods the ant monster wouldn't find him. He wanted to run away so much, but he knew if he did that he would good as dead. The ant monster stopped in front of The Wang Cheng and just stayed in front of him. The ant monster soon jumped from the tree, and Wang Cheng felt like he had just been saved by the gods.

As the times passed Wang Cheng simply didn't dare to sleep.

The sun rose, and the ants went back into their nest leaving behind some materials they couldn't eat.

After the monster ants left, Wang Cheng checked the area to see if there was any monster. The coast was clear and Wang Cheng jumped from the tree and examined the materials the ant monsters had left behind.

There was scale of the T-rex monster, the ant monsters had left behind.

Wang Cheng was delighted when he found out about the item, but he just remembered how the ant monsters dissected the body of the T-rex. Wang Cheng's shook in fear and couldn't imagine how powerful was the ant monster's jaw to break the defense of the T-rex.

He continued to search for more. While searching Wang Cheng found any things but most of them were currently useless to Wang Cheng.

He had also found other things, but they were pretty much useless but Wang Cheng kept them in his inventory because he may need them in future who knows. Just as Wang Cheng was searching for more useful things he noticed something glowing. He approached the remaining of the dead T-rex and saw stone covered in mud but it was still glowing brightly. Ants depended on smell because it had very weak eye sights, so Wang Cheng thought it was normal the ant monster too had similar traits like the normal ants and with very weak eyesight it is not surprising they didn't notice the stone which was glowing.

Wang Cheng picked up the glowing stone and examined it.

Wang Cheng was surprised, he didn't expect he would find a very rare item grade, and what's more it can also be consumed.

He was tempted to consume the item, but he still hesitated. Wang Cheng looked at the item and said,, "Here goes nothing."
