Chapter 3: Betrayal of the writer's friend

Wang Cheng was going to call Ling Chen, but he noticed something was glowing from his mother's room and when he slowly opened the door he realized the old and tattered book was glowing. Wang Cheng slowly approached the book and after taking a long breath he quickly opened the book. When he opened the book stopped glowing and the book looked the same as before but as Wang Cheng flipped the page he realized he noticed some words had appeared.

Friday, 22 January/ Year 2021 *e h*s a*lso betr***d us. Trus* No *ne no* even yo**s**f .

Do** he*it*** t* *ill an*o*e

Even though barely any words had appeared Wang Cheng was able to understand what it was trying to say. Trust no one and maybe the writer's friend had betrayed him.

As Wang Cheng was trying to understand what the words were trying to tell suddenly a screen appeared in front of Wang Cheng.

[Let the game begin!!]

Wang Cheng didn't know what was going on but then realized the one who was persistent wasn't his mother but those who didn't believe her.

[To make the game more interesting let's give you something all the gamers desires]

Wang Cheng was shaking in fear as he asked: "Just what the hell going on?? And why is the stats completely similar to what the card had shown??" Wang Cheng quickly searched for the card and when he touched the card another message popped up.

[Do you want to upgrade your system??]

Wang Cheng gulped and said quietly "Yes"

[Congratulation your system is now been upgraded]

[For being the first person to upgrade the system you are rewarded one golden skill point and a spatial inventory]

A black dragon was flying in the abyss, it looked so terrifying it could easily scare people to death just from its glance. It also gave a feeling as though he is rural of the universe. The dragon slowly approached a black figure and bowed, "Master somebody unexpectedly has upgraded the system"

The black figure slowly opened his eyes and the black dragon which was known to be fearless started to shiver in fear.

Wang Cheng didn't know what was going, but he realized he was able to store things in his inventory like in a real game.

He quickly stored the rations and searched for an axe. His father was a woodcutter, and he always kept his axe in his room. He quickly grabbed the axe just in case and when he grabbed the axe something appeared.

[Item Name: Axe

Item Grade: Common

Attack: +4, Durability: 16/19]

Wang Cheng ignored it, "I should quickly meet Ling Chen" and When he went outside Wang Cheng became stunned. He saw skeletons were roaming around his house under the shade provided by the trees.

When the skeletons noticed Wang Cheng they charged towards Wang Cheng.

Wang Cheng didn't know what the hell those things were but seeing them wanting to kill him. He quickly attacked them with his axe. The axe proved effective against the skeleton and 'killed' one of them.

[You have killed a level 0 skeleton you have gained one exp]

[Congratulations you have leveled up to level 1. You are awarded with one skill point and five stats point]

Wang Cheng couldn't read and had to ignore it if he wants to live. He had killed only one skeleton and right now only seven skeletons were left. He quickly noticed the axe's weight had decreased but it was no time to investigate. Three skeletons charged towards Wang Cheng and injured his left hand when he was trying to dodge. Wang Cheng took a long breath in a short time and charged towards them. He smashed the head of one of the skeletons, but another skeleton grabbed his neck. Wang Cheng quickly pushed the skeleton with all of his strength and ran away leaving the axe behind. The skeletons chased after him but when they came under the direct contact with the sunlight they started to burn.

Wang Cheng looked at the skeletons who had finally turned into ashes and went back to grab his axe.

After he grabbed his axe he looked around and noticed some more creatures were appearing so, he quickly ran away. After running to a safe location he was finally able to rest.

He used three stats point to increase his perception by two and stamina by one. He didn't use all of his stats point just in case. He didn't know what the skill point and golden skill point did but looking at their name it may be possible to upgrade the skill like stat points. For now, he had to meet with Ling Chen, so he called Ling Chen on the phone. After sometime Ling Chen finally picked up the phone.

"Where are you right now??", Wang Cheng asked, "Why didn't you come??"

After sometime Ling Chen replied, "I was stopped by my mom and now we are going to a military camp for safety so don't worry about me right now and where are you right now??"

Wang Cheng became relieved and said "Thank god you are safe right now I am currently on the way to your house"

Ling Chen quickly panicked and shouted "Don't go there it has already been overrun by those monsters. You should head towards Shanghai, it is currently heavily protected the army"

Wang Cheng nodded and turned off the phone. As Wang Cheng was heading towards the nearest city he realized it was chaos. People were stealing things from the supermarket, children were crying, people were stealing cars and many were running away. It was total chaos even police were unable to control anything. Wang Cheng soon realized he could only depend upon himself and left the city. For now, he couldn't trust anyone as told by the book. Even though he didn't fully trust the book he still knew the nature of the humans. For instance, they would love you but in the next moment, they would betray you. Wang Cheng had already been betrayed by the person whom he loved so dearly, so he barely trusted anyone. There were only three people whom he trusted, and it would remain so. Wang Cheng knew in this world only strong can live. The so-called rules are nothing more than to keep the people in check. In this world only the rich have the say and if that wasn't the case why would his father abandon him for marrying a rich old lady??. Did he fell in love with an old lady?? What a joke he only loved her money. For the money, he abandoned his own son and his wife. Even though his father could barely feed the family he and his mother still loved him dearly.
