Chapter 252 The Son of Fire Part 32

The huge gap created by Yul caused the structure of the arena to become unbalanced. The side supporting Wadi and five other men remained standing, while the side supporting Anu and one man dropped and came to rest ten feet lower than the side where Wadi and five other men stood. The side where Anu and a man were standing did not completely collapse because the compartment below acted as a support. Anu looked up and found that the distance between himself and Wadi was too wide and too high for him and his teammate to rejoin them, so he decided to find a way to climb up.

Anu turned to his right-hand man and said, "They must fend for themselves for now." As he was considering where to start the climb, a sword was swung at him from above.

Fufu broke out of the protection of the bracelet and headed straight for Wadi. She swung her sword directly at Wadi, when a man broke away from Michio and went straight to intercept Fufu's sword.

Lixin ran past Abrafo and Bong, sheathed his sword, and jumped down after Anu. His sword collided with Anu's, pushing Anu several feet away. Anu's right-hand man rushed forward and waved his sword at Lixin. As soon as Anu stopped, he jumped forward and began attacking Lixin with his right-hand man.

When Abrafo and Bong stood up from the floor, they found that half of the arena had disappeared, and Yul, Michio, and Fufu had fought with Wadi and five others.

Abrafo turned around to find U-ri still standing unharmed inside the bracelet. "Where is Lixin?" he shouted.

U-ri said, "He went down there? He wants to defeat the leader."

Abrafo frowned, "No way, I will never let him have this credit."

"Abrafo!" Bong grabbed Abrafo's hand. "What's going on with you? Do you still want to compete with him for credit at this time?"

Abrafo pulled his hand away from Bong and said, "We are going to have a long talk after this. How do you not understand the code?" He looked at Bong fire with frustrations. "You stay here with U-ri and don't you move." He rushed over and jumped down.

Bong shouted, "Be careful!" But by the time he finished speaking, Abrafo had jumped down. "You got a black eye!" He turned to U-ri. "What's the code?"

U-ri said, "The word leader means that Abrafo creates a situation to lower the vigilance of the opponents."

Bong scoffed in disbelief. "Then how on earth am I supposed to know that?" he said angrily.

The situation on the chessboard changed, causing the whole audience to cheer.

Ru, who was sitting in the middle, saw the fight between the two. Ru picked up the teacup and started drinking. Although the arena that had been built for many years had been destroyed, Ru happily sat watching the fight and drinking tea. He was surprised by the performance of team twenty-six. He thought that team twenty-six had disagreements at the beginning and would definitely lose. He had to admit that seeing the tactics they used was beyond his imagination.

As the fight on the broken chessboard continued, Ru put down his teacup and slowly touched the white crystal hanging around his neck. He grabbed the crystal stone with two fingers and the thumb of his right hand. Touching the crystal suddenly awakened his memories from many years ago. At that moment, he was woken up by a woman's voice calling his name.

Five years ago, after a night of studying, Ru found himself falling asleep on his desk. Just when he was drowsy, an angelic voice called to him. He slowly opened his eyes and saw a pale woman wearing a white robe walking towards him on bare feet.

"Ru," Gaia said.

Ru rubbed his eyes to confirm that the scene in front of him was not a dream. He stood up slowly and asked, "Who are you? How did you get in without permission?"

Gaia said, "I am Gaia."

Upon hearing Gaia's name, Ru quickly knelt down and lowered his head until his forehead touched the ground. "Gaia, how could I be of your service?" Ru asked.

Gaia opened her right hand, and a white shining crystal floated out. "Put it in a safe place. One day, its owner will come to get it," Gaia said and the white crystal floated to Ru.

Ru asked, "Who owns it? How do I know I gave it to the right owner?"

Gaia said, "You will know when the time comes."

Now, Ru was holding the white crystal stone, feeling uneasy, as if something was bothering him. He has been wondering whether one of the members of team number twenty-six is the owner of the crystal Gaia mentioned a few years ago. Ru smiled and continued to watch the fight in the semi-standing arena.

Michio jumped back and knocked down the spikes flying towards him. Just when Michio was about to knock the last spike to the ground, he took out a talisman from his sleeve, sent the talisman directly to Chia not far away, and then waved the three-section staff to knock the last spike to the ground.

Michio's single spell had turned into a line of fire. Chia had no choice but to retreat quickly, but when he tried to avoid the line of fire, Michio had already attacked Chia. Michio hit Chia's calf with his three-section staff, knocking Chia down and avoiding the line of fire. Seeing Chia fall to the ground, Michio swung the three-section staff at Chia's ribcage, causing Chia to slide from the half-standing arena into the crowd.

Yul flipped backwards, avoiding a double kick from the two men he was fighting. Although the skills of the two are not as good as Yul, because they are fighting as a team, it is a little difficult for Yul to find their weaknesses. Judging from their fighting skills, these two men are well-trained. 

One of the men swung a sword at Yul, and Yul bent back, moved his body forward, rotated his body from the man's side to the man's back, grabbed the back of the man's collar, and threw a hard kick at the second man's chest.

The second man blocked Yul's kick and stumbled backward toward Michio, who quickly seized the opportunity and knocked the man off the stage, landing a yard away from Chia. Just as the second man was about to stand up, Yul threw another man off the stage and the man landed on the second man who had already landed on the first row. Yul and Michio quickly walked towards Fufu who was fighting Wadi and a team member.

Wadi saw that Yul and Michio already proceed to walked forward towards him. When he watched his right-hand man who fought with Fufu, he knew that this was a battle he would not win. For him, forfeiting is not a shameful thing. Since his tigers are not here, he cannot win this match with his low fighting skill, so when his right-hand man fights Fufu, he kindly moves himself closer to the edge of the stage towards the sideline away from the center of the chessboard. He understands that once he is out of the chessboard, his opponents will no longer be able to fight him.

"Stop him!" Fufu shouted. "He wants to escape!"

Michio, who was closer to Wadi chased after Wadi. He grabbed Wadi by the shoulders and pulled Wadi backward. Wadi swung his arm back towards Michio, trying to hit Michio, but Michio grabbed Wadi's arm, twisted it backward, and forcing Wadi to his knees.

Wadi snorted and said, "I was just about to walk away."

Michio was stunned, looked down at Wadi and said, "What?"

Wadi said, "I surrender. I'm leaving the arena. So, let me go."

Michio slowly let go of Wadi, and as Wadi slowly stood up, Fufu's shield struck Wadi's face with full force knocking Wadi to the ground and sliding him towards the edge of the arena.

"Lady Fufu, he surrendered," Michio said.

"Don't be a stupid monk!" Fufu rushed forward and pierced Wadi's thigh with her sword.

Seeing the blood and Fufu's killing intent, the crowd cheered wildly every time Fufu's sword landed on a certain part of Wadi's body.

Wadi was stabbed in four places before he could turn around. When Fufu drew her sword and was about to stab Wadi's in the abdomen, Wadi rolled away and Fufu's sword hit the arena floor. Wadi stood up slowly and continued walking towards the edge of the arena, just when he thought he would escape to the sidelines, Fufu's shield knocked him to the ground for the second time.

Fufu held the sword forward and stabbed straight into Wadi's left chest. She slowly twisted the sword clockwise, and Wadi screamed in agony.​

Fufu looked at Wadi with a smile and said, "When you see my brothers, please say hello." She looked at Wadi with blood flowing from his mouth. After struggling for a few minutes, Wadi died.

Bong stood outside the bracelet, smiling at Wadi's body lying in a pool of blood. "What a fierce soul," Bong said. "If I were Fufu, I would stab him a few more times after his death to avenge those who died at his hands."

"You surely look happy," U-ri said with a smile. "Well, I should get rid of this protection bracelet. We're guaranteed to be the winners here." He looked down at the floor to see if there was anything left on the ground, when he saw a shadow jump out from Bong's left side. "To your left!"

Bong turned to his left and saw the dart piercing Bong's left upper arm. Bong quickly wrapped his left arm around the rope, preventing his attacker from pulling the dart away or causing more damage to his arm. The attacker flew forward and kicked Bong hard in the chest, causing Bong to fall to his knees and slide twenty yards away from the attacker.
