Chapter 187 Mystery In Stone Valley Part 17

Lying alone on the bed in the tent, thinking about where Abrafo and the others might have gone, Bong found it difficult to fall asleep. Not only that, but he couldn't shake what Meng whispered to him before Meng was dragged away. Although he had vented all his anger on Meng, too many questions were boiling in his mind, so he did not go back to bed, but frowned and sat up from the bed irritably.

Bong stared at the almost burned-out candle on the bedside table. He muttered, "Where did that bastard go? Who can control such a powerful fox? What is Lixin hiding? Ahh..." He grabbed his shoes and put them on quickly.

In the small stone house, Yun looked at the dishes covered on the table and reached out to touch the top of the plate that covered dishes.

"The food is cold," she thought to herself. "When will they come back?"

At this time, someone knocked on the door, which startled Yun. She stood up quickly, the door slowly opened, and Yue walked in.

"The maids told me that you refused to eat with me." Yue walked up to Yun and spoke. "Why?"

Yun didn't answer.

Yue said, "I know we had differences in the past, but I had no intention of hurting you. No matter what... we are still a family. It is just that." She sat at the table, looked at Yun, and sighed. "I hate it when you try to embarrass me in front of father."

"Just because of this, you want to silence me forever." Yun looked at Yue angrily.

Yue looked at Yun and smiled. "I thought you were going to keep that act for the rest of your life. It's your own fault to remain silent forever, so don't blame me." She stood up and faced Yun. "Since we are speaking now and no one is present except the two of us, speak your mind. Whatever dispute we have, let us make it public."

Yun looked at Yue angrily and said, "Okay..." She stared into Yue's eyes. "I have hated you since I was a child, just because you were born a few minutes earlier than me, and all the good things must be given to you.  Every time we participate in activities, father and mother will praise you first in front of me, even if when I did a better job than you." She gritted her teeth. "What makes you more special than me?" She glared at Yue. "Your future husband is dead, but your greed stole someone else's future husband."

Yue said, "I have already told you, the He is the one who wants to switch bride."  She sighed heavily.  "This is something that is out of my control."

Yun said angrily, "Even so, you have the right to refuse, but you don't. You want all the good things to be yours. Were you the one who refused to marry Lixin? Knowing that the emperor wanted you to marry Prince Taió, so when the He came with the matchmaker, you refused directly.  Father had no choice but to promise me to the He Family. You did all this just to get a prince. Oh, I take my words back. You want a prince but not just any prince, because when prince Taió takes the throne, you want to be empress." She grinned and rolled her eyes at Yue. "No matter how hard you work to become empress, you can't defeat fate." She giggled. "Prince Taió refuses to accept emperor Khai's proposal." She laughed. "You should have seen your face when the news came out." She moved closer to Yue. "The look of defeat on your face sends a chill of happiness through my body." She giggled. "Winning without any effort is the most satisfying victory one could ask for."

Yue was startled by the words coming out of Yun's mouth. Little does Yue know that her little sister, whom everyone thinks is not smart, turns out to be a person hiding many vicious secrets. Yue was surprised by Yun's ability to plan and put plans into action. Yue admitted that looking at Yun now, she felt somewhat defeated.

"Even if I can't become empress, you can't either," Yue said. "So, no matter what, you will always be my second."

Yun smiled faintly and said, "There is one thing, you will always be inferior to me."

Yue looked at Yun, trying to keep a brave face, and asked, "And what could that be?"

Yun smiled and said, "You may live a life of splendor and wealth, with titles, maids, gold and silver, but you will never get the love a husband has for his wife. I will spend my whole life making you regret it until you swallow your last breath."  She walked past Yue and continued towards the door.

Yue said, "If you thought Yul could be the one for you, you might want to think again. He's already gone with his friends."

Yun turned around and looked at Yue, refusing to admit defeat no matter what. "That person doesn't have to be Yul; it could be anyone who would give their life for me," she said. "That's the difference between you and me. I have my own morals and dignity, and you don't."

Yue quickly grabbed Yun's arm. "What do you mean?" She gasped looking at Yun's expression. "The person who stole the phoenix egg tonight...was you?"

Yun pushed Yue's hand away. "Does it matter if I am the thief?" Yun said angrily.

Yue grabbed Yun's arm again and said, "No matter how much you hate me, I will not let you do something that kills our family. Moreover, I am your sister, and I will not let you walk into the sea of fire."

Yun pushed Yue away angrily, and Yue lost her balance and fell to the ground. Yun shouted, "It's a bit late!" She knelt and grabbed Yue's collar. "When you decided to poison me, we are no longer family."

Yue looked up at Yun in confusion. "Poisoning you? You and I are sisters. No matter how many differences we have between us, I would never think of harming you. Why do you accuse me of poisoning you? You drink that poison yourself because I yelled at you to kill yourself."

Yun pushed Yue to the ground and then stood up. She sneered. "You are really a great actor. Even now, you can still tell lies." After she finished speaking, she walked out of the stone house.

"Yun..." Yue said, quickly getting up from the ground. She wanted to chase Yun, but her right ankle hurt. She knew she might have hurt her right ankle when she fell.

After several attempts to get up from the ground, Yue finally stood up and sat on the stone stool. She looked at the open door and her heart ached.  When she decided to have an open conversation with Yun, this was not the conversation she hoped for. She knew that over the years, their parents had always preferred her over Yun just because Yun couldn't speak. Although she didn't mind Yun's disability, her parents made it clear that she was the better child, and for that, she feels guilty all the time. Her only mistake was that she didn't refuse when the He family offered to change the bride. She admitted that she was greedy, and it was greed that made her and Yun drift apart.

"My Lady," Bi said, rushing into the stone house. "The person who kidnapped Prince Bong was found."

Yue rubbed her legs and said, "I already know the news."

Bi looked around the small stone house and asked, "Where is Lady Yun?"

Yue said, "I don't know. Bi..." She stood up and limped a few steps toward Bi.   "What about the thieves?  Have they found the thieves?"

Bi shook her head and said, "I haven't heard anything about the thieves."

Yue breathed a sigh of relief.  "Thank heaven," she murmured.

Bi asked, "My lady, the thieves are only here for the pure phoenix egg.  As long as we don't have the pure phoenix egg, we will be safe." She walked Yue back to the table.

Yue sat on the stone stool and looked at Bi, who was pouring a cup of water for her. She said, "Bi, Yun destroyed the house that night before Yun accidentally killed my cat. I asked you to follow her to make sure if she was planning to cooperate with Yul and the others, but it turned out that she destroyed the yard in anger and accidentally killed my kitten in the yard. Out of anger I yelled at her to kill herself, but it turned out she actually did it and no one else witnessed it but you."

Bi's hands shook and she dropped the cup.  "Lady Yue," she looked down at Yue and whispered.

Yue said angrily, "Yun said I wanted to kill her, but apart from monitoring her behavior, I never ordered anyone to hurt her. Tell me why she thinks of me like this?" She looked up at Bi. "Why did she insist that I want to murder her?"

Bi fell to her knees.  "My lady," Bi's voice trembled. "I didn't mean it. I thought... I thought... if lady Yun is gone, no one can compete with you. So, when I learned that she could talk... I..."

Yue angrily knocked the ceramic pot of water to the ground. "Bi! You! How dare you!"

Bi pleaded, "I'm sorry... My lady.  Everything I have done is to make you better than Lady Yun in every aspect. I don't want your hard work to go in vain."

"That doesn't mean you have the right to hurt or murder anyone," Yue said angrily.

Bi said, "I know... but for you, this slave is willing to do anything."

Yue sighed heavily. "Tell me how you planned all of this. I want to hear the truth. If I catch you lying to me in any way... I'll have the guards chop your head off tonight."

Bi looked up at Yue with tears streaming down her face and said, "I'll tell you everything."
