Chapter Twenty Three..please miss me babe

Eloise made her presentation too and the board members liked it .

Actually ,she was also introduced to the other part of the company's terms and services for their employees ."Along with a fully furnished two bedroom apartment ,she was given a brand new Toyota Corolla and an advance payment of fifty thousand dollars for her works .

Eloise paid off her landlady's debt before moving into her new apartment .

She didn't have a problem packing her staff into her new apartment because she got some assistance from Inno and Joan who had now become her neighbor and friend as well .For months ,Eloise was living a simple life however ,her silence was killing Jakes slowly .

It was like her presence felt absent whenever she was around Jakes because she strictly kept on to her professional terms .

As Jakes thought of strategies he could deploy to get Eloise's attention , Meredith badged into the office .Renata quickly run to Eloise's office to inform her about it ."Eloise ...Eloise !" She rushed into her office ."What is it ,Renata ? Why the rush ? Anyways ,sit first and let me get you some water ." Eloise brought Renata a bottle of mineral water to calm her down ."Now tell me what's going on ? "Eloise said with a demanding tone ."Mer is here .I mean that evil witch Meredith is here .

She just entered Jakes' office and I wonder what will happen this time .I'm sure those two will do nothing other than fight and that's why I came to call you ."Renata seemed tensed .

"Call me ? For goodness sake Renata ,how am I supposed to be involved in their issue ?

For six months now ,all I've done is to stay away from Jakes and his related personal activities and so I can't drag myself into their freaking love story Renata ,I can't !"

Eloise took her seat and hummed for a while .

"Eloise ,you will find all this worthy and necessary once Jakes is no more yours !Believe me ,when Meredith clings to you ,she won't leave ever .

That lady is such a parasite who clings so hard on its host and I don't want you to fall prey to her dirty antics towards Jakes in getting him to marry her .

Even if you deny it a thousand times that you don't love Jakes ,I know you do so you must fight for your love and stop being apathetic .

Listen Eloise ,I won't stop at anything to get you and Jakes together .I promised you this eight years ago and I will surely fulfill my promise ." Renata desperately took her seat on the couch and thought of a solution to get Meredith out of the way .

"What are you doing here Meredith ? I thought I said I don't want to see you again ."Jakes grew furious ."Chill Jakes , it's being six months since I last saw you .

You didn't attend the welcome party six months ago at my house so I thought that you were probably angry for real and that's why in order to give you some space , I left for Russia to take some photoshoots for a prestigious company .

I called you and you answered none of my calls .

No text replies also from you ,Jakes Riddles but I understand .

I just want you to know that your would- be-wife understands you very well because Jakes ,I have told you that whether you like it or not ,you and I will join in a grand matrimonial ceremony and become one in the eyes of God as well as our families ,friends and our well-wishers and even our enemies .This is why you shouldn't stress out yourself too much because on our wedding day ,I don't want my man to have a wrinkled face .

Meredith's words sounded so annoying in Jakes' ears that he felt like walking his hands across her face but he wasn't going to tarnish his image because of Meredith's annoying character. "Meredith ,stop this craziness or else you will regret your decisions later .." Jakes felt like breaking her face apart but to her luck ,she was a lady and no matter how quick tempered he was ,he would never hit a woman ."Babe , don't get yourself all stressed out yet because I have just started .

In case you don't know ,I have come for good to stay in your life .

Look ,I couldn't care about the women you go to bed with but remember ,once you finally get engaged to me ,that nonsense will cease because I don't share my husband .

" He hit his fist against the desk but a call came in and distracted his mood . He picked up the call in anger without even looking at the contact name . "Hello ...! " Jakes almost threw his phone away when he heard Meredith's voice over the phone ."Mer ..what now ?! " Meredith said nothing at the other end ."Look Mer ,I'm not in the mood for your mind games .

If you don't have anything better to tell me ,I'm hanging up now !" Jakes angrily said over the phone ."Babe ,I just wanted to hear your voice but anyways , remember that you are mine and I mean only mine !" Meredith hanged up the call .

"Mer ,Mer ...damn her ! How dare she hang up on me ? That bitch ! " Jakes left the office angrily . Renata quickly ran into his way to stop him ."Sir ,where to ? " Renata asked suspecting that Jakes had nothing good in mind .

"When did you start asking your boss about where he's going and where he isn't ,huh ? Do you know I can fire you for this ,Renata ? We are in a cooperate environment and not in some garden where personal matters are discussed ,you get it ?! Stay professional or else you will lose your job ?"
