Chapter Sixty..verbal thesis

"Good morning class ,I'm Monalisa .."Suzzy was interrupted by a girl who seemed so full of herself .She wore a a blue rugged jeans with a white tank top along with her side cap and her pair of Nike fashion sneakers .

"Mrs .Woods ,we like this new student so can she sit down now ? " she said twisting the strands of her hair .

'Haha! haha ...!' the rest of the students laughed at Suzzy .The young lady on the other hand turned around and gave three of her friends a high five .

"Erica ! don't be rude ! now sit down ,I said now !"Mrs Woods scolded .

"Sorry Mrs .Woods ,it was just for fun so don't be bored .."Erica sat down and laughed at the corner of her mouth .Suzzy ignored her and walked to the back to sit down on the vacant seat that was beside two girls .

"Hi .."She said and sat down beside them .

"Hiii " they both said to her with smiles all over their faces .

"Now you all should listen to me very well ,in Loyola Marymount University ,our main virtue that we teach is love and respect for each other .I will not entertain such disrespect in my class next time .

You are not the first badge to have studied in the institution from wealthy families and you will not be the badge to disrespect me or my orders .

Especially you Erica Montgomery ,I care less about what your family has contributed to this institution .If you pull up such disrespectful attitude again in my class ,not only you but your friends will also be expelled from Loyola Marymount University and I mean it .I've done it before and I can do it again!

For this reason ,I need your skill in mathematics and economics ,you need to put them into play in my class .

We have five basic objectives today to achieve after which there will a verbal thesis .

The objectives are ;

-Definition of business statistics

-Main objectives of business statistics

-Importance of business statistics

-Types of business statistics

-Career opportunities in business statistics .

These are our major objectives for the next three hours .Lend me your ears as we start ;

-Business statistics is the collection , classifying ,summarizing ,organizing , analysing and interpretation of data .

-The main objective of business statistics is to make inferences about certain characteristics of a population in the business domain whether the population is people , objects or collection of information .

-The main importance of business statistics according to statical research in business enables managers to analyze past performances ,predict future business practices and lead organisation effectively .

Statistics can describe markets ,inform advertising ,set prices and respond to changes in consumer demand .

-The three types of business statistics are range , variance and standard deviation .

-Now to what you are all here for which is developing you career ,there are interesting careers you can go into once you complete Loyola Marymount University and some are financial analysis ,operation management and organization administration .

Hope you are all okay ? "Mrs .Woods asked and they nodded in agreement .

"Alright ,since you are all cool with the lectures , it's time for my verbal thesis .There are only three questions ,the one who answers two out of it will stay in my good books as prepared for Loyola Marymount University .

In Loyola Marymount University ,we prepare students to lead the country .So far ,no female has been able to beat the raw score of Dora Armstrong in Loyola Marymount University since 1960 and no male has been able to beat Jakes Riddles since the 1980s .

I don't need to repeat this to you since you were told all this during your orientation .

We are raising students who will beat the raw scores of these two people so you should all be alert and make this your aim .

This is my first question and it won't come from nowhere either than the one we've discussed so listen attentively .

"It's quantitative - continuous Mrs .Woods " . Erica Montgomery said and gave her friends a high five showing everyone that she's the best .She even picked a toffee from her bag and starting licking .

"Ha! this girl is too full of herself ."Suzzy said to herself and got up to speak .

"Mrs. woods ,the correct answer is quantitative - discrete ."Suzzy gave her answer .

"That's right Monalisa .The correct answer is quantitative - discrete and not quantitative -continuous ."Mrs .Woods passed her final verdict on the question and Erica sat down feeling rage towards Suzzy .

"What does this newbie think of herself ?Nobody can be better than Erica Montgomery ,nobody ! "Erica angrily thought .

"The last and final question is a story problem that has beaten many other students over the years however ,I want to test your intelligence in business statics so here it goes ;

-In a high school graduating class of 300 ,200 are going to college ,40 are planning to work full - time and 80 are taking a gap year .Are these events mutually exclusive ?
