Chapter Forty one ..mind games

"You wanted to prove yourself to everyone !

The president of Riddles Cooperation wanted to always stay correct and do you know why ?

It's because in your opinion ,you can never be wrong !

You're perfect in the field of business but you ain't even good at building a family and keeping people's emotions in check !

For eighteen years ,people kept on pointing fingers at me .They called a bastard right from kindergarten to high school !

You never attended my Parents Teacher's Association meetings .You were not there to see me take my first step !

You weren't there to see my mother's first sonography where she felt my heartbeat !

You weren't at my first graduation ceremony to first grade !

You don't know what my favourite food is !

You don't know that I've received many awards for being the best handball female player in my school !

You don't know anything about my sense of fashion .

Do you know that whenever I'm sleeping ,I sleep on my left side ?

No you don't !

So I don't expect you to know that whenever I can't sleep mummy sings my favourite songs for me !

When I'm sad ,she buys different plait robes and plaits my hair for me ; the same hair you've cut short .When it's my leisure ,I paint ,do you know ?

Jakes Riddles ,what do you know about me ?

This is because for eighteen years ,mother and I had to fend for ourselves without you !

Do you know how ridiculed people saw me ?

I endured all this and managed to complete highschool !

Mother had to put on multiple tasks to provide me with my needs and in order not for me to get worried ,she hid the fact that she had lymphatic cancer from me !

Before I realized ,mother was dying slowly !

I could have saved her but do you know why I couldn't ?

It's because I had no resources to do so !

When I came to know about her illness ,it was already too late !

She was in stage IV and the doctors told me that the cancer had spread to an organ external to her lymphatic system and there was just a little chance of survival !

Because of her illness ,she stopped making her designs and I after school would pick up menial jobs to gather money for her treatment but it still wasn't enough to cure her !

When her situation got critical ,I knew I couldn't continue to college just yet so I dropped my mindset on college and stayed by her side .

In my own arms ,she passed away living the initials of your name and your address in Santa Monica behind .'JR' You pretended not to know what I was talking about ,right ?

You behaved as if you were clueless and that too about your own identity !

You let's forget about Belton ,I came to Los Angeles and wandered on the streets .

I picked up menial jobs to support myself until I stole some food and got ran into by your car when I was been chased .

Me !

Being chased for stealing food , ha?!

Fate indeed changed me for real .The truth is that ,the accident actually made both father and daughter meet each other .

When you came to visit me at the hospital ,your striking resemblance and the language of emotions I felt made me know that you were my father but most especially ,because the nurses affirmed it with the prove of the DNA test they run on me !

Look Jakes ,you aren't the only one who can play mind games and pretend alright ?

I knew straight from the hospital that you were my father but even I fooled you too in pretending not to know anything !When I got the least chance ,I ran away !

I wanted to come back stronger and attack you directly .

I wanted to come back stronger for revenge but unfortunately ,your goons which you sent to hunt for me found me and brought me to your feet .

When I woke up and saw you for the first time ,I put up an act to see what you thought of me .

I wanted an explanation from you and so when I asked you who you were and you told me that you are my father ,I felt that it was the right time to give me a reasonable explanation as to why you were not there all these years for mother and I but unfortunately ,you being a coward that you are , lied to me and hid my identity under fake adoption papers to save yourself from my wrath !

You couldn't man up to face the pain of my wrath Jakes !

So I also brought up the story of searching for my dad and that's true Jakes ,I'm searching for the father in you and I didn't know whether I can find him !

You aren't the only one who plays mind games better Jakes ,I 'm ahead of you since a crab doesn't give birth to a bird after all !

Now how will you defend yourself from my clutches , coward ? "Suzzy stretched her syrupy voice in calling Jakes a coward .

"By the way Jakes , don't be sarcastic with your hopes because I hate you and I will always hate you for abandoning mum and I .

On the contrary , tactically ,you caused her death .You killed my mother and a murderer like you doesn't deserve to be called a father ! "Suzzy began walking away from Jakes whose cheeks ,tears flown down like a river .

"I know I'm a jerk !

I don't deserve your forgiveness either but I love you and I did all that I did to earn your love too !"Suzzy suddenly stopped in her tracks and moved to face Jakes again for his words ."Ha! Even if the rivers turn white ,you won't earn my love ,daddy !"Suzzy sarcastically said ."Don't worry Jakes ,I will stay here in your mansion with you because I won't let all these good things pass me by !"
