Chapter Five ..Childhood memories

All the evidences in the file proves that Susana Jenkins is the child you had with Eloise Jenkins !

I will take my leave now !" He said , excusing himself as he saw his master's face dim .

He knew he had to give him sometime alone to digest all the news he had received .

Once he left ,Jakes fell onto his sofa and numbly looked into the air .Tears began flowing down his cheeks after a few minutes .

He then recalled his life with Eloise before , when they were small kids in Long Beach City .

Jakes was from a wealthy and worthy home but Eloise wasn't .He met Eloise at the beach of Long Beach City when he had gone on a holiday vacation with his parents .

He used to be calm , downhearted and didn't like being around others but Eloise had some guts to approach him .

"Hey handsome ,what are you doing here on the beach alone ?

Where are your parents or friends ? " Eloise was curious to know more .

"Go away , I don't want to be disturbed !"Jakes replied and continuously threw stones at the coast of the beach .

"Handsome ,have this ! I took a long time finding them and unlike you who is sitting here with a bitter mood ,I put myself into finding some treasures ..!"She said .

"Hehe ..what good treasure is in sea shells ,huh ?

Stop wasting your time picking them up ,they are useless !"Jakes mocked Eloise who had four pieces of sea shells in her tiny hands .

"I was picked up by the old man I 'm staying with now .

I call him my grandfather .He picked me up from the shores of the sea when someone rapped me up in a blanket and placed me there at Belton Lake Beach .I was in a box when he found me .

I seemed very useless then but now ,look at me ,I look useful to him.I run errands for him and sing for him as well .

Just like these sea shells ,they look very useless at first hand but when I fix them on my thumb and index finger and hit them against each other ,they produce sounds .

The sounds they produce moves according to the music I produce in my mind .

This makes them useful handsome .Just look at how I sing along while producing sounds with these sea shells "Eloise happily sang and danced around while producing the sounds with the sea shells .

"They are still useless and I make no mistakes ..!"Jakes flattered himself and got up to leave .

"Hey handsome ,wait a minute .If you say that you make no mistakes then why don't you try using the sea shells to produce sounds as well ,huh?

We shall see if you make mistakes or not ...!"Eloise gave him the other two sea shells .

Jakes couldn't produce any sounds because he didn't even know how to fix it on his fingers .

"You see ,everyone is bound to make mistakes !

My grandfather says that unless you are God ,you are fallible !

God never sins or make mistakes but we humans do , so don't be full of yourself !

However , it's never wrong to try out new things !

These little things make one very special , handsome .

So I will teach you how to produce sounds with these sea shells and it's free of charge ."

"Hmm ,okay ! You win ,I will learn ! By the way ,I'm Jakes Riddles ..!"

"I'm Eloise Jenkins and it's nice to meet you Jakes Riddles .

I'm eight years old! " Eloise added .

"Well ,I'm nine and so I beat you by one . "Jakes added .

"Alright handsome ,what are you doing here at Long Beach City ? "

"I came on a vacation with my parents .They are in the hotel but I thought of coming here to watch the sea tides ."Jakes said to Eloise .

"So if you came for a vacation then where do you stay ? "Eloise asked .

"Los Angeles County , specifically Santa Monica .We moved here, to Los Angeles County not long ago !

We used to stay at Boston Massachusetts . What about you ? Where do you come from ? "

"I stay at Texas ,Belton , with my grandfather Robert Jenkins .My grandfather brought me here so that I could enjoy the summer weather ."Eloise said twisting her pendant around .

"What's that ? ..."Jakes asked .

"What ? Oh ,you mean the pendant .Ha ! , it's just a pendant that was on my neck when my grandfather found me .

He said he named me after this pendant ,look at it , it's written 'EJ' on it ."

"EJ ? What does it mean ? "

"Well , that's my real name which my grandfather doesn't know so he named me Eloise Jenkins .

You see ? It's all with the initials 'EJ ' .What a coincidence ,you see ?"

"Yeah ,a coincidence it is .As for me ,I live with both my parents .

They love me alot ...!"

"Okay ,are we now friends ,Jakes ? "

"Friends , Eloise ...!"

"Alright ,I will meet you here tomorrow .I have to go before my grandfather starts looking for me .

I don't want to trouble him ..!"

"Alright Miss beautiful ,I will meet you here same time tomorrow ...!"

They bid their goodbyes and for the subsequent days ,they kept seeing each other and this made their friendship bond harder .

"Eloise ! Eloise !! Eloise!!! ..."Jakes called out her name while looking for her at the shores of the beach .

He went up the hill and saw Eloise sitting there in tears .

She had buried her head into her legs in tears.

"Eloise ,why are you crying ? You know I don't like to see you crying right ?

Eloise ...!"Jakes tried to console her .

"Don't touch me ,why didn't you tell me that you were going away ?

You said we are best friends and that we wouldn't keep any secrets away from each other but you kept the fact that you are going back to Santa Monica from me !

Don't touch me ,you are such a liar ,a very big fat liar !

You are nothing special from other boys ,all of you are liars !

I don't want to see you again , liar ...!" Eloise began running away from Jakes and he ran after her .

"Eloise my dear ,listen to me .I swear that we will always be together !See ,when I grow up ,I will marry you and make you my wife so that we will always be together .I promise you Eloise ..!"Jakes held her shoulders calmly.
