Chapter Three_ Be your maid(3)

I entered my house,my stepmom and dad were sitted in the living room.

"Dad"i purposely called out my dad's name ignoring my stepmom, she glared at me but i just smiled at her.

My dad looked as worried as hell,he stood up and held my hands"Ann,are you okay?, where have you been?"i smiled and held his cheeks with a smile.

"Dad,why do you have to worry so much. If you can't let me go,then how can i get married in peace"I breathe pretending like i was tired of him.

His face fell"Dad,i was just kidding"i giggled.

"Ann,how is Mason?"Sofia,my stepmom said with a provocative smile.

Mason!.

I had totally forgotten about him during my time with__

I don't even know his name but Mason doesn't seem to exist when i was with him but Sofia had to bring up the subject that her slutty daughter caused.

I shrugged and went to the dining room and poured a glass of orange juice then back to the sitting room"We broke up"i said with emphasis.

Although my heart still hurt deeply,i have to let go.

Mason should be my past!.

"What should we expect anyway?"Sofia words was followed with a sigh.

"Exactly, what should we expect from him and the whore that seduced him?"

I could see her facãde cracking one by one ,so it could hurt her when i talk bad about her daughter.

"Are you alright,we warned you about that scumbag"my dad said,my eyes turned glossy as i bit my lips to stop myself from crying.

I breathe in"Dad, no need to worry,am okay. Where's melissa?"I asked changing the topic.

Melissa is my younger sister from the same mother while the rest are from Sofia and they are all spoilt imp,well what do i expect,any child that comes from Sofia is born to be the worst.

Melissa is like my best friend whom i tell everything to, she must be deathly worried about me.

"Melissa is upstairs"Dad said and i nod walking upstairs.

"Ann,who was that man that had brought you here?,you guys were exceptionally close"i froze when i heard Sofia's voice.

She must have seen when that man had brought me home,"he's just a stranger that had brought me home because of the rain"i feign a nonchalant voice and started my way upstairs.

"Does that mean that you were with him all day?"

This woman is too much!

I clenched my fists in anger and resentment before speaking"Dad, I'll not be living here again".

Dad came up to me,this man was so naive. His daughter was secretly bullied yet he wouldn't do anything to help her.

"Why,you can stay here. You're not a burden to me at all"he held my hand again but i gently removed it.

"Dad, it's high time i move out and don't worry, I'll visit you when i have the time"he sighed,then looked away.

I nodded before walking upstairs,i could feel the happiness emanating from Sofia,this was what she wanted.

I could feel the bitterness in my tongue.

I immediately went to Melissa's room,her door was just shutting close now which means she overheard everything i had said.

I knocked on her door.

No response!

I knocked again.

No response!

She might still be mad and the Melissa i know won't listen to my explanation when she's mad, I'd better give her so space and when she's less angry, I'll talk to her.

"Melissa,am really sorry but..."i whisphered not completing my words when the door opened and i saw Melissa.

She was jabbing her fingers together not looking at me,"Lisa..."i called out lowly.

I saw her taking a deep breath before moving away"Come in"she made way to the me.
