Bad Match

When the referee blew the final whistle, Liam prayed that the ground would open up and swallow him.

Northend Academy lost the match. 3-1.

He could see the disappointed and embarrassed faces of his teammates as they stomped out of the field. Imagine NA, who had won the Mayor's cup against SCH just two weeks ago, was losing 3-1.

His mind was occupied as he dragged his feet away from the field, walking past a smug-looking Chris who winked at him.

He had the urge to punch him in the face, but he refrained from doing so.

What was wrong with him? How did he become a mess like this? He had been good. He couldn't remember the last time SCH won against them. NA usually won and even if the game was very tough, it ended in a tie.

He had hoped they would beat SCH today in their school, especially after seeing some bigshot personalities who were there to watch the match. But what happened?
