Miracle's POV
We'd been running drills all morning. Something I did half-heartedly because I was filled with worry.
I stood at attention, my heart racing with anxiety. Sergeant Bradford's voice echoed through the parade ground. Some days humans like Sergeant Bradford ran basic drills with us and other days the Alpha Commander would throw us into the deepest most dangerous mission he could find. Today was the easy drills yet my mind wandered.
"Attention!" Bradford bellowed.
Our unit snapped to attention, heels clicking. I struggled to focus.
I shouldn't have kissed Hardy while still tied to Ian.
I shouldn't have hurt him like that.
"Eyes forward, shoulders back!"
The sun beat down on our crisp uniforms. Sweat trickled down my spine but it barely fazed me. I was more concerned with questions like - Where was Hardy?
"Right face!" Bradford ordered.
We pivoted, synchronized. My movements felt mechanical.
