Ch-23 I Promise(3)

Jennifer had blood splattered all over her. There were 5 dead corpses beside her belonging to members of The Graveyard Troupe.

The warriors body were now an unrecognizable mess of flesh pulverized to a pulp because of brutal beating. On the other hand, the mages were buried underground till their heads which had turned into skeletons due to being burned to a crisp.

5 Minutes Earlier

Jennifer was fighting The Graveyard Troupe members with everything she had and as the battle continued, her battle power declined to less than 5%. She was sure that she was going to die when an indescribable felling enveloped her . It was as if her mana had awakened and began working on its accord.

Due to this unknown phenomenon, Jennifer's mana kept supplying her the strength to continue fighting and even increased the power of her spells.

Jennifer imbued her fists with Wind magic and dealt swift and precise blows to the warriors pulverizing them completely. Then used Earth Magic to make the ground below the mages soft and buried them while turning them into a skeleton with her Fire Magic.

By the time Harry opened his eyes and registered this horrific scene Jennifer's ' Spirit ' was pierced through his heart. Harry had an expression of unwillingness, astonishment, petrification and many other emotions and thoughts crossed his mind as his life came to its end.

' Why do I have to die when she gets to live, someone far younger than me. She is inferior to me but I am the one leaving this world. '

' Father, was my life a waste. I did everything you taught me and lived by your words but in the end I am dying in the hands of someone younger than me. I have shamed you.'

Harry's origin was from a tribe that had long lost contact with civilization and lived in a remote area of the Arcane World. Losing contact with civilization made the tribe's village develop its own rules based on their circumstances.

The village had a unique status quo because all the members of the tribe including their children had same talent for mana. This never changed because no outsider was allowed in the village and anyone who left the village would never return.

Due to such reasons, the older you were the stronger because they had more time for practicing magic than the other. Naturally, the oldest person was the strongest in the village.

He never considered someone younger than him as his equal but today he was going to die pathetically in the hands of someone younger than him

' No, even if I am going to die I need to take this bitch down with me. '

Jennifer had pierced through his heart but he still had a little bit of strength left to burst it . He burst his heart and the ensuing explosion of mana left her astonished.

Jennifer didn't expect Harry to burst his heart exploding him into pieces but the resulting shockwave was very dangerous injuring her to a severe degree.

However, the explosion also meant that Harry was dead and the battle was finally over. All the adrenaline and willpower Jennifer had gathered deflated like a balloon and she lost consciousness.

An Unknown Cafe

A man and woman met in secret in a unfamous cafe but they both stood out like sore thumbs. The man was dashing and handsome despite his age and all the woman present there could not take away their eyes away from him.

While the woman wore a scarlet coloured skirt revealing a lot of skin especially her thighs and waist. One look at her and the bystanders fell into a spell cast by her beauty and presence.

They couldn't stop ogling at her perfectly shaped body that seemed to invite them for a passionate night. The lips were especially lethal and she had an air of a devilishly beautiful woman.

Even her voice was sweet as she asked the man coquettishly," Jacob, seems like your intel turned out to be true after all. Its unfortunate that my lackeys were not able to capture the boy, but they did manage to find him. However one of that old hags toys had to interfere and mess up all of my plans. The toy even has a nice sounding title

' White Dragon of Dragon Rainbow Academy '

Perhaps I should deal with this ant later. But you expected this to happen didn't you , Jacob. There is no need to be sh, you can tell me the truth, I promise I won't bite."

Jacob had an lackadaisical expression on his face, "What are you talking about, my lady?"

The woman hands a chip to Jacob which contains a detailed video of the battle between Jennifer and The Graveyard Troupe. The woman obtained this after Harry 's immediate death through mysterious sources.

Jacob watched the battle and replied to the woman without any change in his expression, " Hmm, this is not what I expected. Jennifer is stronger than I had estimated and she even managed to have a breakthrough during the battle. There is nothing I can do about unpredictable variables."

The woman had an expression similar to a demon who would run a sword through you with a mad grin on its face, " But your ticket to joining our esteemed organization was to bring that boy alive. Now that you have failed to accomplish this task you must do something else to prove your worth."

The lackadaisical expression disappears from Jacob's face, " What do you want me to do so that I can join the organization."

"There is no hurry. For now keep gathering your forces and I will inform you when the time is right.

Oh, I can tell you that you are going to have a blast completing the task

Ha, Ha, Ha."

The barrier cast by Jennifer lost its affect after an unknown period of time and a dazed Jasper regained his wits. He rushed towards her direction and started searching for her.

It wasn't that hard for Jasper to find a route leading directly to Jennifer because the areas where she had battled were destroyed or burnt to a crisp. He only needed to follow the trail made by her battle's destruction to find her.

Jasper stops short after finding Jennifer.

He had to control himself from whimpering at the sight in-front of him. It was total chaos. There were dead corpses spread on the ground that had been a battlefield just a few hours back and Jennifer's condition was the worse.

Jennifer's whole body was filled with innumerable injuries and deep cuts which lead Jasper's first thought to be that she was dead. He completely panicked at such a sight.

' She is dead for sure. How can someone survive after receiving such injuries??! What am I going to do without Jennifer? No, she would never leave me , I have to believe that she is alive. Let's first check her vital and find out."

Jasper checked for her vitals and his panicking stopped only after getting the conformation of her survival and started closing all the wounds from which blood was flowing. Stopping the flow of blood was the most important thing to do before he started bandaging all the wounds.

Jasper did not have any medical knowledge but he had gone to a martial arts dojo for 10 years where injuries were as common as pigeons. Naturally, everyone in the dojo had to learn the basics of first aid to repair themselves.

10 years of repairing himself had given Jasper enough experience to take care of Jennifer's blood flow and shallow injuries. Unfortunately, he didn't have the necessary knowledge and ability to take care of the serious wounds.

After stabilizing Jennifer's current condition, Jasper started thinking about his next problem.

Jennifer was unconscious and wouldn't be doing the usual preparations needed for living in a forest instead now the daunting task had fallen in his shoulders. He had to search for food, a suitable place for making a shelter to bear the chilly nights and protect them from the predators that roam the forest.

' It's a good thing I had been observing Jennifer for the last two weeks otherwise I would have been a sitting duck in a large forest not knowing what to do. '

First, Jasper started searching for a water source because without water he was not going to last very long and mending of Jennifer's wounds would also require a lot of it.

As Jasper lifted Jennifer, he realized that although she was much stronger than him in physical strength ,so the obvious assumption would be that she is much heavier than him. But surprisingly he had no problems in lifting her. The reason for this was due to the mysterious properties of mana.

So although Magic Users had unfathomable strength, this didn't have any effect on their weight unless Gravity Magic was used.

He kept searching for a water source but was unable to find any, even after a long of time had passed and as his searches range kept increasing, he kept moving forward. In his ignorance, he entered one of the most dangerous places of the Arcane World
