DIANA AND HIPPOLYTA- THE TRUTH

AN: There you go 2 chs. Do leave a review if you haven't yet.

-----

Hippolyta contacted Bruce and sent him the meeting location, the underwater city of Atlantis. Bruce agreed to the meeting with the Aquawoman.

Meanwhile, on Themiscyra, Diana, clad in her Amazonian armor and lasso, stood before the golden doors of the chamber where her mother was. 'I wonder if she's still angry with me. Bruce said to apologize if I think I did something wrong... I... Haaa...'

She knocked on the door and said, "Mother, may I come in?"

"Yes, come in, my child."

She opened the door and walked inside, "You wanted to speak to me?"

"C'mon, sit," Hippolyta motioned her to sit down beside her, "You must be wondering why I called you here?"

"Yes," Diana nodded. She wasn't expecting her mother to call her in her private chambers since they were supposed to be on bad terms when Diana left Paradise Island.

"How are you doing in the world of men? Are you eating and sleeping properly?" Hippolyta's questions took Diana by surprise.

"I'm doing fine, mother. I'm living in Bruce's house, Wayne Manor, and eating and sleeping properly," She replied with an awkward expression. Her mother noticed her expression and sighed, shaking her head.

"I know what you are thinking, but there are rules and traditions that we follow on our sacred island, and some things can't change. When you decided to leave, as the queen of Amazons, I tried to stop you. But as a mother, I'm always worried about my daughter. You see, Diana, there are politics and plots involved that prevented us from changing our ways. Had I supported your decision back then, an internal conflict might have broken out among us. There are some hidden forces, just waiting for that conflict to break down so that they can swoop in. When this happens, the outcome will never be good for the Amazons."

Diana listened intently, a glint of anticipation in her eyes.

"Moreover, it was a good battle. You are strong and I'm proud of you. Now with that man of yours got involved and your strong friend, Kara, those forces won't be able to make their moves and not to mention the Motherboxes are reacting. I wonder... What kind of faces they are making knowing that there's a possibility of Amazons, Humans, and Atlanteans uniting once again after thousands of years? I really, really want to show their reactions." Hippolyta had a mischievous look.

"I... I see. But still, I caused you problems, for that," Diana lowered her head a little, "I'm sorry."

"Oh, come now... Don't be like that. I'm glad that you went out there. If not for you we wouldn't have known about Darkseid. Who could've guessed, the man my daughter chose turned out to be strong enough to threaten me with a smile and then tried to take back that threat with that same smile."

"Oh, that. Yeah, he gets what he wants, one way or another."

"Hah! He is smart and devious. So, did you fight him? Is he really that strong?" Hippolyta probed with interest.

"He was insanely strong even before he got his power. I couldn't even land a blow the first time we had a spar. But now, well... It's hard to say how strong he is. But one thing is certain, even if Kara and Superman team up, they might not be able to defeat him," Diana sighed. "But surprisingly, he doesn't use his power for bad things or use it in his daily life."

"Really? How so?" Her mother asked with a curious look.

"Well, he can fly and even teleport, but he uses cars for travel. He can use ice breath but uses the fridge to cool his drinks or make ice. You know, things like these... He even takes the stairs to his room, not just fly or teleport. Oh, and when entering our base, he could just teleport in, right? But no, he'll take that slow elevator, then will walk for few minutes and after that, he'll use that Biomatrix scanner to unlock the door." Diana sighed, as she talked. "His choices are quite... illogical sometimes. I mean, why not use your power to save time, right?"

"Hahahaha..." Hippolyta broke out in laughter and then caressed her daughter's head, "But isn't that adorable? Not using his powers for trivial things just to seem more normal?"

"Normal?!" Diana raised her eyebrow.

"Yes. When you gain too much power, everything around you will become unimportant. To a god-like him, everything may seem trivial. So, instead of flying up high to the moon or going to outer space, he chose to remain bound by logic and reality. It helps to retain that humanity and emotions. He has a choice and doesn't force the world around him to submit, just to bring about change. Unlike gods, you know, he chooses to help, not harm," Her mother looked towards the bright blue skies through the window.

Hippolyta stood up and walked to the window. She continued...

"Too much power changes people, no matter who they are... Gods, Demi- Gods or Humans... At one time they'll have a thought about using their power to get everything, rule everything... Something like that, it's the nature of every living being or Immortals. One would need a strong mind and a clear goal or something to keep them grounded, to prevent them from losing control over their sanity and turn a tyrant."

"Tyrant like Ares?" Diana asked.

Hippolyta nodded her head with a small laugh, "Even the god of war wanted to conquer everything and cause endless conflicts among all the races, including Gods. That's why, my daughter, you must stay close to Bruce Wayne. Be the anchor to keep him grounded and never let him forget his real self. Have a family with him. Only then, humans and Amazons will truly unite."

She walked to Diana and grabbed her shoulders.

"After the war with Darkseid, if we survive. Take over my throne and have a family with Bruce. Change the old rules and take Themyscira to a new age. Our sisters deserve happiness, but our teachings and the usual rules have muddled their minds. You must stop that. Guide and teach the young ones how to open up their hearts to fall in love. Let them find love with any race of their choice, be it man, Amazon, or Atlantean, so that no one would try to change our way and will. You'll then save your brothers. The rules that give us our near immortal-like state and eternal youth, say that no man must step foot onto the island, right?"

"Wait! You don't mean?!" Diana stood up with wide eyes.

"Yes. Our near Immortal state has nothing to do with the rules or men setting foot on our land."

"WHAT?!" Diana was shocked to hear that.

"You dummy. If men stepping foot on the Island would affect our Immortality, then what about the time when your brothers are born? Aren't they men? Haaa... Such is our teachings. You can call it complete brainwashing. We put that hatred about men in everyone's minds as they grow up... making them only focus on getting stronger and hatred for men and a strong dedication to the rules. And you already know the result." Hippolyta said bitterly.

"Mother?" Diana watched her mother with wide eyes as she continued...

"Reality is harsh, isn't it? That's why, my daughter. Save us. You, who have seen and experienced the outer world like no other Amazons, are the only person I can hope to change Themyscira. Unchain your sisters, and as Queen, establish a new ruling and new beliefs on which all will stand." Hippolyta spoke passionately. "If they try to fight back, give them a nice bashing. Show them that politics and things like that don't matter in front of absolute power... You must become stronger than you are right now."

"It's a lot to take in. I... I need some time to rearrange my thoughts..." Diana stood up and left the room without another word.

[North Atlantic Ocean]

Bruce took a hundred buster suits which he shrunk using the Pym Particles with him and then made his way to the meeting. Those suits were just for protection in case a fight broke out. He flew down into the water and made his way further down into the Atlantic.

'Aquawoman, huh?! I liked that feisty look in her eyes when we met last time.'
