Its life was nothing but misery. Since it's birth, it was forced to obey that wizard called Salazar. It didn't have any freedom or will to do as it wished. Not only him, but, it also had to obey his successors as well. Until the successor arrives, it was put to deep sleep. Once it was awakened from its sleep, it met the boy named Tom. Even though it had to obey his command to harm the people he targeted, those were the only times it was freed from its cage. Freedom didn't last long and it was again forced into its cage until it could be freed again. When it was awakened once more, it was delighted with the taste of freedom, until that old bastard came and ruined it all. Dumbledore found the secret chamber and forced it to obey him as well. It was confused as to how someone that he didn't recognize as a successor could command it. Because it was sure that old guy wasn't the successor it had to obey, not at all. After that, it was forced to play along with the stage that old bastard prepared. It first lost its sight because of that old man's bird than killed by a little boy. If not forced to hold back, how could such a weakling be able to kill him? After it's death, the Basilisk was reborn as a human baby. Free from the chains that have been forced on it, it decided to rise to power so never again in its life it will be forced to obey others. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the Harry Potter series, the basilisk is supposed to be a female. But in this story, it is a male.
