Cyne leapt up to snatch the keys from Lin Ge's hand, but being too short, she missed as Lin Ge simply raised his hand out of reach.
"Cyne, you hate dealing with paperwork the most, so why are you in such a hurry to get back to it?" Lin Ge asked with a smile.
"I..."
Cyne's face stiffened a bit as she wasn't sure if Lin Ge had noticed her unusual behavior or the fact that the Soul Contract had become ineffective.
She could only pretend that nothing had happened, trying to maintain the usual Demon King's demeanor.
"Hmph, are you in charge of my affairs now? Are you the Demon King or am I?"
"Sorry," Lin Ge apologized, though the smile on his face did not fade, "but since you've already come, let me take you around."
Cyne watched as he pocketed the keys, a hint of unease flashing in her eyes, but she still commanded with all her usual haughtiness:
"Fine, lead the way."
"As you command, please stay close to me."
