Huo Beijiang tapped off the ash from his cigarette, then spoke in a deep, emotionless voice, "You go back to school and look after your aunt."
"I definitely will," Fu Xinwu assured repeatedly.
Huo Beijiang nodded. The night was too dark; he did not care whether Fu Xinwu saw it or not. He turned, his gaze as piercing as a hawk's, cutting through the layers of darkness straight to the slender figure busy in the kitchen.
After a long while, Huo Beijiang let out a low sigh, his brows tightly furrowed.
"I'm leaving!" he said, then turned and, along with Lu Jin, disappeared into the night.
Fu Xinwu hurriedly said, "Aren't you going to say goodbye to your aunt before leaving?"
Unfortunately, Huo Beijiang did not answer.
He was afraid that if he said goodbye, he would not be able to leave.
Fu Xinwu stood still, his smile gone; he felt tired and sad.
