Chapter 24: Festivals and Celebrations

Feudal Japan had various festivals and celebrations throughout the year, and Mark was interested in experiencing them. Takeshi took him to a matsuri, or festival, where he saw the different rituals and traditions.

Mark was impressed by the colorful costumes and decorations, as well as the music and dance performances. He also learned about the different customs and beliefs associated with each festival, such as the Obon festival to honor ancestors and the Setsubun festival to ward off evil spirits.

He realized that the festivals and celebrations were not just a way to have fun, but they were also a way to express gratitude and to connect with the community.
