Chapter 21

Now that she was alone, Hyun Na Bi was thinking about the last two times she had seen Jin Yong in the past.

Before travelling to the past: When Hyun Na Bi was 36

After months of being confined at home, Hyun Na Bi left the house at last. The investigation along with her drinking habits had made her condition worse and at last she was feeling a little better after months and she had decided to go outside. Hyun Na Bi did not want to go anywhere in particular so she went to a mall that was on the way. No matter where she went, her assistant would be following her so Hyun Na Bi just entered the mall. The assistant was the only person who was friendly with her in the entire household. Hyun Na Bi did not know if it was out of pity or something else, but she trusted her assistant more than Park Dae Hyun.

Seeing the happy families and the happy kids running around, Hyun Na Bi missed her kids. At such a young age they had been sent abroad and she could do nothing to stop them. Hyun Na Bi wanted to at least stay with them abroad but even that was not allowed. Of course they did not allow her to keep her own name and changed her name to Hyun Ha Na, how would they allow anything? Her name was changed to Hyun Ha Na only because she was kidnapped but she missed her real name. She felt like she was living the life of someone else and everyone other than her husband only called her Ha Na, only he called her Na Bi.

Hyun Na Bi was wandering aimlessly in the multi storied building and walked wherever her legs took her.

A small crowd was moving towards the private elevator grabbing her attention. Hyun Na Bi thought it must be the Chairman or some other important person and as she walked closer to the elevator, she saw the man who must be the head. Her legs felt like lead and she couldn't move. She couldn't believe her eyes.

There stood the man of her dreams Jin Yong. The man she hadn't seen for thirteen years.

Jin Yong hadn't noticed her but when he felt that someone was looking at him; he shifted his focus to the woman standing several feet away from him. The love of his life Hyun Na Bi was standing there looking shocked. It was her, really her. There wasn't a single place where he hadn't looked for her. It looked like Hyun Na Bi had disappeared from this planet. He heard rumors from his village that the last time they saw her at her grandmother and mother's funeral, she was with a man. But Jin Yong did not believe them.

Hyun Na Bi looked at the man walking towards her, without batting an eye. It was him, the guy who had abandoned her. The guy she had worshipped in the past. The man for whom she would have given up her life without question.

That was when she met Jin Yong for the first time. Jin Yong looked different. His face had become thinner and his eyes were no longer shining. Jin Yong looked pale and cold and he was no longer the man that she could remember. No one in their right minds would talk to him, he looked unapproachable and as if he could kill anyone with his eyes. It took some time for Hyun Na Bi before she was sure that it was Jin Yong.

When Jin Yong saw Hyun Na Bi, he quickly walked towards her and pulled her in a hug but she placed her hands on his chest to create some distance between them.

Jin Yong spoke first, "Na Bi it's you. How are you? I…"

Words got stuck in his throat seeing Hyun Na Bi after such a long time but he also couldn't stop talking to her, "Do you know how much I searched for you? I couldn't find you anywhere in the world. Where did you go?"

Hyun Na Bi knew the reason why he wasn't able to find her. When she was kidnapped and they moved abroad, Park Dae Hyun had changed her name officially in all the documents.

Hyun Na Bi did not say a word and just nodded her head. That was when she remembered that she was still in the mall and the Jin Yong's employees were staring at her and also her assistant was looking from Jin Yong to Hyun Na Bi wondering how her boss knew the chairman of DaeSun.

Jin Yong called her name once again, "Na Bi. Come let's talk in my office"

Hyun Na Bi's assistant called her, "Mrs. Hyun Ha Na"

Hyun Na Bi said to her, "Wait here" and followed Jin Yong to the elevator.

Before getting in, Jin Yong told his secretary, "Close the mall if you want but no one is to disturb me after this. Clear my schedule"

Jin Yong got into the elevator and turned to look at Hyun Na Bi properly. She was looking away from him but he couldn't stop staring at her. That's when her wedding ring caught his eye. But he chose to ignore it. He turned his attention to her face. She looked thinner and the lively Hyun Na Bi was nowhere to be seen and all he could see was a socialite woman being careful around others. It looked like time hasn't been on her side and someone had chopped off her pretty butterfly's wings. Her pretty long hair had been chopped off and it barely reached her shoulder now. She looked like she had lost all hope in life and Jin Yong couldn't find even a fraction of her old self.

Hyun Na Bi was standing straight facing the door trying to stay calm. There were cameras all around and she waited until she was in his office. She knew how gosspis and rumors would start if they spoke in front of other so she had waited patiently.

When the elevator stopped, Jin Yong took her to his office. The moment the door closed Jin Yong felt a tight slap on his face. But he wasn't angry. She had every right to hit him if she wanted and he wouldn't stop her.

Jin Yong smiled like a fool, "How are you"

Maybe if Jin Yong had yelled then Hyun Na Bi would have felt better but he was smiling at her, and she started screaming at him when he asked her the question, "Really? That's what you want to ask me after all these years?"

But Jin Yong replied calmly, "Na Bi"

Tears were threatening to fall as she looked at him, "Don't… Stop it… I have to leave…"

Hyun Na Bi couldn't stay any longer. She wanted to leave. She did not want to stay near him anymore.

Jin Yong stopped her, "My pretty butterfly. Listen to me… Give me just 5 minutes… Please…"

Her name meant butterfly and he always called her pretty butterfly when they were still in love. Pretty butterfly, the name she had wanted to hear now felt like someone was pouring acid in her ears.

"Don't you dare call me that"

"Just 5 minutes love"

Hyun Na Bi scoffed, "5 minutes for what? To see how pathetic I am right now?"

Jin Yong stood silently looking at her, just looking at her.

When he did not respond, Hyun Na Bi continued, "How's your wife Ahn Se Na? I'm sure you must have had a wonderful time after your proposal. Is that why you want to talk? To rub it on my face? Fine I agree I'm a pathetic loser right now. I have nothing, I have no one. Happy?"

But all the words fell on deaf ears, Jin Yong asked her, "I have been searching for you all these years. Where were you? Why did you change your name? Why did you leave me?"

"You want to turn this on me? Fine. Let's talk"

Hyun Na Bi walked over and sat down on the couch and Jin Yong followed her. He wanted to sit next to her but not wanting to fuel her anger, he sat on the other couch facing her.

Jin Yong smiled, "I missed you"

Hyun Na Bi couldn't believe his audacity, how dare he was pretending as if they had parted on best terms. "Really? Why would you miss me when you have Ahn Se Na by your side?"

Jin Yong said calmly, "I never married her"

Hyun Na Bi was taken aback, she was almost sure that they had married, "Why?"

"I never loved her"

"Ok"

Hyun Na Bi was almost shaking as she was processing this information. Guilt was eating over her. the truth she had kept hidden for so many years.
