Chapter 2

"What do you mean what happened you were awake!" Eir said.

~Eir was my best friend. We had made a promise to each other but I can't remember what it is. She has white ends, black roots, and dark purple streaks in her hair. Mostly now what I can remember about her is that she's creative, an artist with a bunch of followers, kind, protective, and my best friend. That's all I can remember. Why?~

I looked around and there was a puddle of water.

"Eir, I really can't remember what happened. It feels like I can't remember anything."

"Okay, be careful when you're getting up. I'm pretty sure you were in here when this all happened which is why I found you here. But I don't know why you were covered with blood. On the news they had announced that rioters and other civilians had started destroying government parking and starting up an apocalypse. One of them had gotten into one of the missile launching zones and had set off a bunch of missiles that went all over the country. That's officially when the apocalypse started. I was coming over to bring food and hangout but that's when it happened and I ran here. You were cleaning something. It looked like a red liquid. Do you remember that?" Eir said.

"No, I didn't even know that there was an apocalypse going on. What has the world come too? Why couldn't it just be a normal day?" I said tearing up.

Eir leaned over and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I don't know. I guess most or well all the people who started this are idiots." She said smiling.

"But back to what I was saying, that happened. I found your katanas and decided to bring them here just in case." Eir said.

Eir looked around the basement and looked up.

"Maybe we should start boarding up. I will go upstairs. I don't think anyone from this university has survived." she said with a sad tone.

"I'm going with you." I said.

"No, you are staying here."

"I am"

"Am not"

"Am"

"Not"

"Please, I just want to watch over you. Please, and aren't there people running around outside. I just want to make sure you're safe." I said this while my heart started to ache. I felt a wave of emotions over me when I had said that.

"Can you even stand up?" Eir said.

"I think." I said this while I stood up.

"See. Now I'm going with you."

"Fine, just please don't get hurt."

I was walking and stopped in front of the mirror.

"Did I really forget what I looked like?" I thought.

~In the mirror I saw myself. I had dark brown hair, it was to my shoulders. I had a bandage on my cheek. I had light brown skin. My nails were painted a pastel pink and some of my nails were pastel blue. My left eye was dark blue while my other eye was dark brown. I had a scar that went straight down my eye. It was red even though I think this scar happened a while ago. I had scratches that were bandaged up on my arm. I had a black tank top and camouflage sweatpants on.~

I kept walking. We made it up the stairs.

"I don't know why but I feel that Eir means a lot to me. Why did I get that wave of emotion when I said that. I just want to protect her." I thought.

*Slam*

Eir stopped, looked at me and put her index finger over her lips. Her lips had looked bright pink as I had looked at them. She started walking silently. I pulled her back and went in front of her. She started to glare at me. The noise had came from the kitchen. I was walking slow and quietly making sure Eir was behind me. I peered into the kitchen and saw a guy with and undercut. He was wearing a grey shirt. It had blood on it. I looked behind me at Eir and pointed for her to step back. She looked at me with fear. She still stepped back. I creeped into the kitchen and the guy jumped once he saw the katana I had.

"Look, I'll leave! I'm sorry for intruding but please don't hurt me!" He got on his knees on the ground and started begging.

Eir had peeked into the kitchen. I looked at her and pointed back to the hallway.

"Please, don't hurt me! I was hungry. If I had known that anyone was here I wouldn't have came here! I'll do anything, please just don't hurt me!" He kept pleading.

"Is there anyone here with you?" I asked.

The guy got silent.

"No, just please I'll do anything you want."

"Okay, tell me. What is your name?"

"Josh." He said quickly.

"Is that really your name or are you lying. I will stab you here right here right now."

"Yes, my name is Josh. I'm not lying."

I glared at him.

"I think I should be able to trust him, but he is just a random guy. Also I don't want him hurting Eir. Or me..."

"Get up." I said in a stern tone.

Josh stood up.

"Do you want to stay with us?" I asked still glaring at him.

"Us?" He questioned.

Eir peeked her head in. He looked at her and blushed a little. I snapped my fingers,

"Yes, us dumbass. Answer the fucking question."

He looked shocked.

"Yes, I do." He said.

"Okay, well we were about to start boarding up the house so we can stay here for now. Don't try anything funny or I will kill you." Eir had already left the room.

"Okay." Josh said smiling.

"And if you hurt either of us. Even a minor scratch, or you so much as lay a finger on her I will break that part of your body. Or chop it off. I'm not afraid of a little blood." I said with a little grin.

He looked scared.

"Okay, I won't." He said.

"Follow me to get some supplies."

"Alright."

We started to head to the basement.

~The house had a weird arrangement. At least to me. It had a long hallway. There were five rooms. The kitchen, the living room, the broom closet, the study, the pantry, and the staircase to go upstairs. Upstair there were 4 bedrooms on each side of the hall when you walked. When you got up the stairs on the left was the community bathroom, and on the right was the porch. The porch was made of wood and was painted white. There was a mini garden for herbs to make tea and to snack on when we are out there. There was a big table to sit all of the dorm house. It had a large umbrella.~

I walked up to Eir,

"Hey Eir, can you start helping upstairs. I'll stay downstairs with Josh." I said smiling.

"No, I can stay with Josh too."

"I don't really trust him but he seems trustworthy." I whispered in her ear.

"Fine, but don't threaten or hurt him unless he deserves it." She said walking upstairs.

"Okay, can you help me carry this wood. There should be enough for the windows. We have some from the Halloween decorations." I said while I turned back to look at him.

"Josh?" I questioned.

I saw what Josh was looking at. He was looking at a big puddle of blood on the floor.

"What is that?" Josh looked at me with fear in his eyes.

To be continued...
