The Sorcerer?

"This human was the cause of the village fire at our border. We should eliminate him. He's clearly a sorcerer!"

The shackles clanged as the man struggled to get out of his bonds. He looked more like a beggar than a sorcerer. His hair was matted with blood and dirt,no doubt from the beating of my guards. His face was darkened by soot and ash, and his eyes… His eyes seemed familiar.

"Sorcerer, can you speak?" I tried to keep my voice calm and welcoming but my reputation sometimes overshadowed any kindness I showed to humans.

His eyes displayed all of his fear. He looked at me unwaveringly accepting his fate.

"Sorcerer, I asked you a question." A small whimper escaped him. " This is no sorcerer."

His face was erratic and his mouth moved without another sound escaping. He was no sorcerer. Sorcerer's never cowered but took their downfall with dignity.

"Cedar, are you sure this is the sorcerer? He can't speak." Cedar, the head of my elite guard, moved closer to me and bowed.

"Madam Dalia, we caught him unleashing the spell on the town. The town bursted into flames and he was captured at the center of it all!" Cedar spoke with an air of disgust. I'm shocked he didn't spit on the human.

"Did he now? Clean him up and prepare him for dinner with me. I want to speak to him privately." After one last glance at the human, I turned to walk away with Cedar on my trail. "Where are my sisters?"

Cedar looked at me in shock. His blue skin grew paler with the mention of me having dinner with the human. His eyes bulged dangerously close to falling out. "Why are you dining with this sorcerer?" I raised an eyebrow at him questing my command. "I am sorry Madam, we will get him prepared."

Cedar directed the other guards to take the human away. I smiled because the human showed no fear as I turned away. I would smell it if he did.

Cedar cleared his throat. "I believe they have something big planned for our recent victory.A party…I believe."

A party! I couldn't believe he just said party. I lifted a brow to Cedar once more. "Make sure you the human is given water slowly. And see if he speaks then. The fire could have caused damage to his voice. As for my sister's, tell them to meet me after dinner. This is no time for a party. Humans are getting bold and knocking at our door…"

"Dallliiiiaaaa, I have been waiting for you dear sister!" Dena ran full force at me and threw her arms around me. "The party will start at sundown, We need to get you dressed."
