"Wait..did you kill someone?" Alyssa asked and kept a frightened look.

"No...I'm not a murderer and why would you think I would kill someone?" Darrell asked surprised.

"Pheew," Alyssa said relieved.

"Hey...it isn't written on the face, okay, so don't ask that question, yeah, you are cute and all but still that isn't enough for your innocence," Alyssa adds with her hand folded.

"Wait...you think am cute?" Darrell asked with a smile revealing his dimples.

"Yeah whatever," Alyssa said avoiding Darrell's eyes.

Darrell licked his upper lip and laughed lightly with his cheeks turning red.

"Hey don't try to change the subject okay," Alyssa said as she lifts her second finger and starts moving it side by side.

"What did you say you want to confess?" Alyssa adds looking at Darrell.

Darrell's mood changed immediately and then he sits down on the grass with his face looking sad as if he was about to cry.

"Promise you won't laugh at me," Darrell said without looking up at Alyssa's face.

"Okay...I promise," Alyssa replied with her two fingers crossed to each other.

"Mmm...mm," Darrell inhaled deeply. "I am afraid of heights," Darrell said sadly and looked elsewhere.

"What! Did I just hear you say well," Alyssa said and laughed hysterically. "The almighty Darrell is afraid of heights," Alyssa said mockingly and laughed again.

"You promised not to laugh...yea, go ahead and laugh all you want," Darrell said grumpily.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, is just that am surprised," Alyssa said trying hard to control her laughter.

"Okay, but that shouldn't make you sad," Alyssa said as she pouts out her mouth childishly, trying to console Darrell.

"You think? I mean, I just feel so useless right now, how do I save Monaserus, how do I save the royal family, when I can't even cross a single bridge how do I avenge my parent's death, why do I..." Darrell said sobbing with his head in his hands.

Alyssa gently walked to Darrell and she circled her arms around Darrell's shoulder and held him close.

"Hey...it's okay..get a grip of yourself okay," Alyssa said softly still trying to console him.

Berk was moved by Darrell's outburst and came close to Darrell as well.

"You are not useless, you are going to pass through that bridge like its sand, and you are going to do all the things you just made mention of okay," Alyssa assured confidently.

"You just need to believe in yourself," Alyssa said trying to lift up Darrell's spirit. Darrell lifts up his face and looked at Alyssa as she spoke.

"I mean look at me, all my life I have been maltreated by someone who I thought was my mother, and I only recently got to know my parents abandoned me, but am I giving up? No...you know why? Cause I believe that things would get better," Alyssa said as she looks deep into Darrell's eyes.

Darrell wipes his tears, sniffed in, and he still has his eyes fixed at Alyssa's brown hazel eyes.

"And you have got to do the same thing...just take that bridge as an obstacle to your goal and overcome it, trust yourself and win," Alyssa concludes as she removed her hand from Darrell's shoulder and stands up, then she brought out her right hand to Darrell's face, Darrell got the message as he held Alyssa's hand for support and she helped him up.

Darrell dust himself inhaled deeply and smiled at Alyssa.

"Thank you," Darrell said softly.

"It's nothing champ...we can do this," Alyssa replied and returned the smile.

"Yeah...let's do this guys," Berk said excitedly as he hops around them, Alyssa and Darrell looked at him and laughed at his action.

Alyssa held Darrell's hand again, Darrell turned his eyes to Alyssa, the feeling of her hand sends cold shivers to his spine.

"Are you ready?" Alyssa asked in a low tone.

"Yes," Darrell replied with a nod.

Alyssa leads Darrell forward till they got to the front of the bridge.

The clear sky was right above the thin bridge, the fresh air filled their bodies, the trees behind them danced to an unknown symphony as the breeze played them a familiar tune.

The bridge seemed endless from where they stood as they looked wondering if it had an ending. Beneath the thin bridge was an angry moving stream flowing down from a huge waterfall, not too far from the bridge.

"Let's do this...give me your other hand and remember this...do not look down," Alyssa said as she held Darrell's other hand.

Darrell just replied her with a nod.

He looked tensed but he still tried to suppress his fears.

"Remember it's just sand you do not have to be afraid," Alyssa said warmly as she starts walking confidently with her back against the bridge and Darrell in front of her, she was holding Darrell's both hands, she walked with courage taking her legs backward one step at a time, and Darrell just followed her lead one step at a time, Berk also confidently followed them behind, ignoring all odds.

"I can do this...it's just a sand, " Darrell keeps repeating to himself in his thoughts, as he has his eyes only fixed at Alyssa's brown hazel eyes, trying hard to avoid the environment around him.

They kept on walking cautiously, the bridge soon began to shake continuously as they moved further but they seem not to take notice of it cause they got their eyes fixed to each other, to them the environment was void, but their legs didn't stop moving. Berk cautiously walked behind them cause he could still notice the environment, the shaking of the bridge brought fear to him so he tried all means to maintain balance on his trail.

Soon they walked past the bridge successfully and got to land again. They soon got to realize this.

"We did it," Darrell said excitedly as they both embraced each other.
