Late in the night, Alyssa sneaked out of Norma Elspeth's lair and ran into the woods.

"Alyssa! wait for me," Berk said panting and running after Alyssa.

"Berk! what are you doing here? You are not supposed to come with me, you have to go back,"

Alyssa replied pointing out one of her fingers towards Norma Elspeth's lair.

"I can't let you go out alone is really late and besides you need someone to protect you," Berk replied keeping a really sad face.

"Don't worry about me Berk I will be fine on my own, you need to go back, now!" Alyssa said wearing a serious look on her face.

"Please Alyssa I can't let you go on your own, please let me come with you, please," Berk pleads to pout out his mouth and making a babyface.

"Hmm, ok fine, you can come with me," Alyssa exhales and replies.

"Yeah!" The rabbit shrieked with excitement.

They both went forth, deep into the woods, the whole place felt lonely and dark unlike some certain nights that the woods were brightened by the moonlight, this particular night was different it was cold, dark and it even felt as if someone was following Alyssa and Berk from behind, cause they started hearing footsteps, the whole place was filled with the hoots of an owl and cries of other nocturnal creatures.

Berk the rabbit clung unto Alyssa as usual, never letting go of her, Alyssa's legs were already feeling weak and they were really becoming heavy for her to lift, but she ignored the pain and kept on moving forward.

Alyssa had no idea where she was going, but she knew deep in her heart that she needed to find answers and the only way to get those answers, she needed to leave Norma Elspeth's lair. As they moved further, they soon spotted a figure coming towards them.

"Alyssa am really scared"

Cried Berk as fear gripped his spine.

"Don't worry Berk I have got you," Alyssa said and she lifts him up to her shoulders.

"You shouldn't worry about anything ok," Alyssa adds and continues walking confidently.

A Howling sound.

"Oh my God! what was that?"

Berk asked frightened.

And then suddenly a wolf runs out from the shadows of the thick bushes and starts chasing after them. Alyssa spots the wolf and runs as fast as her legs could carry her, her heart beats two times faster than usual, as she runs without looking back, the weight of her shoulder made her more weak, yes she's tired but she can't stop, not now, the wolf fastens his speed and when he almost got a grip on Alyssa and Berk, then suddenly he mistakenly steps on the leaf of a pine and got badly injured on his foot and then he stopped chasing after Alyssa and Berk.

Alyssa soon found out that the wolf has stopped chasing after them, stops to catch her breath.

"Alyssa, why are you stopping? what if the wolf comes back," Berk said showing concern.

"I am really tired Berk, I need to rest," Alyssa replied weakly and sits on the cold grass.

Howls and sudden cries of despair.

"What's that? It seems like he is injured," Alyssa said with concern and turns around and walked towards where the wolf was with confidence.

"Alyssa no, he could be making it up," Berk said looking really scared.

Alyssa got to where the wolf was and stares at it, for a while.

"Let me help you, it seems like you are injured," Said Alyssa to the wolf with concern.

"And why should I trust you?"

The wolf asked Alyssa with a sneer.

He was sitting down weakly and licking off his injury with his tongue.

"I'm not a bad person, trust me,"

Alyssa replied and moved towards the wolf, she helped him remove the pine leave stuck under his foot, and then she tore a piece of her cloth and tied it around the wolf's foot.

"Now you are good to go," Alyssa said after taking care of the wolf's injury.

"Thank you, how can I repay you," Asked the wolf.

"Well, first of all, don't eat me and my friend,d and please help us find a place to spend the night," Alyssa said. Berk was still behind Alyssa trying to hide from the wolf, he was shaking continuously.

"That won't be a problem I will help you," the wolf replied delightedly.

Then, the wolf takes Alyssa to a secluded cave for her to sleep. She searches for a perfect spot to lay down, and when she got it, she lies down and in no time she fell into a deep slumber.

That same night, Norma Elspeth walks to her library and pulled out one of the books on the bookshelf and immediately the bookshelf moved and revealed a secret passage. She walks down the passage holding a wooden torch in her hand and she enters a dark stark room. A woman and a man are seen lying down on an old wooden bed.

Norma Elspeth kept the wooden torch on the lamp holder and walks to the bed where the man and woman laid.

"Oh sister, too bad, that, soon, I am going to kill you, I just need to get the book of shadows so I will be able to take the spell I need to take your powers and I will achieve my goals of being the rightful queen of Monaserus,"

She said softly then she moves to the body of the man.

"My love, soon we will be together, I am sure when you wake up and discover that my sister is no more, you will marry me and each of the promises you made to me, you will fulfill them, and we will be happy together forever," Norma Elspeth said more like a whisper to the ears of the lying man and walks away from the room.
