Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Killing the Herd (3)

I sprinted away from the southern part of the forest and into the skirts. I didn't immediately head home due to my injury, so instead I ventured around to find a secluded place to concentrate on healing.

Once I found a good shade, I took a comfortable seat and assumed a lotus position.

I glanced at my bleeding injury and gritted my teeth from anger.

'Those damn savages!' I cursed..

My breathing released a plume of hot air, the surrounding felt hot from my exhale alone as warm energy entered my body slowly healing my sustained injury.

In an unnatural fashion my injury healed. Not in an instant but in a fast gradual manner.

My shaking body stabilized and the pain soon left my body. I stayed in the position until my stamina returned and my wounds completely healed.

It took about 40 minutes until that happened. Which was slow considering that the main essence of Phoenix Breathing is focused around fast healing and regeneration but due to my low mastery that speed is understandable.

After recovering and gaining back my energy one thought lingered inside my mind.

'I need to finish what I started.' I have already fortified my decision to eradicate the entire herd. Though it may appear and it is unethical and downright evil the upside outweighs the moral consequence.

Ten! Ten more beasts that I kill will give me 40 MP! The amount of that MP far surpasses their lives value.

But before that, I need to get some offensive martial arts to deal some serious damage and I know exactly what martial arts I should get.

I opened up my martial store and immediately purchased the offensive martial arts I've been eyeing.

[ {Martial Store} ~ {Offense} :

Blazing Meteor Fist

Cost: 15 MP

A technique that involves gathering Qi into the user's fists, igniting it with intense heat. At its full mastery when the fist is launched, it moves with the speed and power of a meteor, leaving a trail of flames in its wake. The Blazing Meteor Fist can melt through armor and incinerate flesh, making it one of the most destructive techniques available in the Lower Realm. Its raw power is matched only by its consumption of Qi, making it a double-edged sword. ]

Right now I have 19 MP from killing the cubs, if I purchase this I still have 4 MP.

I clicked on the martial arts and bought it. And immediately a splitting headache assaulted my mind. Floods of knowledge, arranged sequence and methodological combat approach surged inside of my mind.

"ARRGHH!" I grunted.

Instructions and barebone knowledge of how to execute the technique was embedded into my very mind.

After two minutes of agonizing pain it stopped. A renewed feeling of power surging through my veins.

In a trance I stood up from my knees and faced one of the trees. I cocked back my fist and circulated my qi in accordance to Blazing Meteor Fist.

I felt something warm wrapped around my fist. Something warm to me but scorching to others.

Then in a quick motion, it left and shot forward like an exploding canon and struck the tree.

BAAAANNG!

A loud explosion ensued. A deafening sound threatening to burst my eardrums resounded as the tree fell on the ground.

In the spot where I punched, a small patch was charred in the middle of a big crater.

"Nice! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I couldn't help but laugh in sheer exhilaration at the destructive power now at my disposal.

The Blazing Meteor Fist was far more powerful than I had anticipated, and the thought of using it against the herd sent a surge of adrenaline through my veins.

I took a deep breath and centered myself, steeling myself for what's to come.

*****

The next morning, I found myself once again at the edge of the forest, the familiar tension building in my chest. This time, I wouldn't wait for their guard to drop. I wouldn't wait for the cubs to wander off alone.

I was going to take them all down.

The herd was clustered near the river, unaware of the approaching danger. I carefully positioned myself behind a thick tree, watching them for a moment, analyzing their movements. The adult Saber-Tooth Moose Lions were grazing peacefully.

I focused on one of the adults. If I could take out the strongest first, the rest would crumble.

With a deep breath, I activated Phoenix Breathing, feeling the qi surge through my body, amplifying my senses and fueling my strength. I cocked my fist back, channeling all of my energy into the Blazing Meteor Fist.

BANG!

The explosion shook the ground as my fist connected with the first moose lion's chest, its fur igniting as it let out a pained, guttural roar. Before it could even react, the beast collapsed, its body charred and lifeless.

The herd panicked, but I wasn't done yet.

I dashed towards the next one, my body moving with speed and precision.

I struck again, this time aiming for the creature's legs. My fist exploded on impact, sending it toppling to the ground, unable to stand.

A third one lunged at me from the side, its massive claws aiming for my head, but I was quicker. I ducked and rolled, my fist glowing with the fiery energy of the Blazing Meteor Fist. I slammed it into its underbelly, the heat scorching its skin as it howled in agony.
