Revenge, Becoming the strongest, living a wholesome life, protecting the world? Nope, I was just curious. Curious about how a world would be like if there wasn't a single main character. I have always hated main characters who take all the spot light for themselves and make a fool out of everyone just because they can, I wanted a world where everyone can be a main character. A world where the antagonist can kill the protagonist, a world without a protagonist. I always thought that it was an impossible task... however fate wasn't so cruel as everyone thought it to be. Or, maybe I was just lucky... Lucky enough to get a second chance. Lucky enough to create a world where everyone can be a protagonist of their own story (Maybe not everyone but I tried my best), a world without a protagonist. --------------- Join the discord server. https://discord.com/invite/Atg3pzVCGw
After the battle, I went to the temple of the Blood God with my uncle and Samantha, a priestess of that temple.
Although I designed that temple... Seeing it up close was satisfying. The temple was 125 meters tall! It was made up of black stone and silver with tinted red windows. It was absolutely gorgeous.
"It looks amazing! We should have brought Alfred with us!" I said.
"We should have. Alfred hasn't gone out for years," said Thomas.
"I am glad that you both like our temple. The bishop will be happy to have you at our ritual." Samantha smiled.
"What ritual?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Every month, we hold a ritual where we donate a little bit of our blood to the Blood God, and in return, he provides us with enough blood to last us for a month," Samantha explained while holding her hands together.
"Why does the Blood God need blood to give you more blood?" I asked her.
"Well, Gods have their own mysteries. Mortals like us won't understand them. However, if you can one day reach the realm of Gods, you will be able to understand them. However, becoming a God at the price of losing everything you love is not worth it. I would rather spend the time I have with my loved ones than become a God and watch as they slowly die one by one." Samantha answered.
"..."
Her words were valid. Being a God is more challenging than becoming a God. Just like Alfred, the Gods have watched everyone they love die one after one. Their hearts have become colder than any other being. They had stopped loving, making friends, and caring about others. They look after their followers only to entertain themselves.

The Praying Area (Nave)
--------------
The bishop greeted us with a warm welcome. He looked pretty young for someone who was over eighty years old.
"Flash! I did not expect to meet a Special Class S Ranker like this! Did you come here to attend our ritual with your nephew?" The bishop asked.
"Yes, Father. However, I never mentioned that he is my nephew." Thomas said while pointing at me.
"Words travel fast. Some of the priests told me about it. Please come in. I can not keep my guests at the door all day now, can I?" The bishop said humbly.
The inside of the temple was like any other church. Inside the praying area (Nave) was a massive statue of the Blood God. The Blood God was wearing the head of a boar, an undefeated warrior forged through the blood of his opponents. He had a cup in his right hand and a sword in his left. His red cape was flowing in the air because of the breeze. His eyes looked as if it was moving. It was as if he was looking down on all of his followers. The statue was truly magnificent!
We sat down in the front row as the ritual began. The bishop read a few words from his book.
"And now we shall offer our blood to the Blood God." The bishop announced.
"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!" everyone inside the church started to shout.
"Hah... Remember one thing when in, Rome act, like the Romanians do." Uncle whispered in my ear.
So, we just joined them as well. The blood was collected with new syringes to prevent any infections. Me and my uncle donated some blood as well. Although, our blood wasn't multiplied like the others. The Blood God gave us an unexpected offer.
[The Blood God is pleased by your donation. He wants you to become his follower.]
[Become a follower of the Blood God]
[Rewards: Night Vision, Hyper Regeneration, Heightened Senses, Super Strength, Super Speed and One Active Skill of the Blood God]
[Agree?] [Disagree?]
"Uncle, don't be tempted by the rewards," I said, turning towards him.
"I am trying my best..." Thomas answered, trying to keep his finger away from the [Agree] button.
This offer was tempting... Too tempting! I had to force my body to click the [Disagree] button. I had already caused a change in the future by visiting the church. If I had let my uncle press the [Agree] button, then God knows how many Time Wraiths would hunt me down.
[The Blood God is disappointed. He wants you to take your time and think about it. You will always be welcome in his land. He wants you to let him know if you ever change your mind.]
[Become a follower of the Blood God]
[Rewards: Night Vision, Hyper Regeneration, Heightened Senses, Super Strength, Super Speed, Eye of Truth and Two Active Skills of the Blood God.]
[Agree?] [Disagree?]
[The Blood God has adjusted his offer.]
"What a persistent bastard... Back off already, you bitch! He is already my follower!" Ryuk shouted in my mind.
"A follower without any benefits..." I murmured under my breath.
"You said something?" Ryuk asked.
"What? Nooo~ must have been someone else." I said.
"Hm, weird." Ryuk scratched his head.

"It is a pity that you didn't choose to become a follower of the Blood God. However, you both will always be welcome at the church of the Blood God. Please let us know if you reconsider his offer. We will welcome you with open arms," the bishop smiled. "Samantha, please see off our guests."
"Bye!" I waved my hand at the bishop. In response, he waved back while smiling.
"Vampires are so nice!" I said.
"Trust me, any creature on this planet is way better than us humans," Uncle replied. "Some of the humans are even worse than those demons."
"... Did a human hurt you, Sir Flash?" Samantha asked.
"Not me... the people who were close to me... their only remains are now in my memories..." said Thomas. "Sigh... I am sorry, I am not feeling well today... We will visit the church another time if we can. Thank you."
CRACKLE
In a flash of lightning, we were already at our doorstep.
"Uncle... Are you alright?" I asked.
"I am fine... I need a little rest... Go wash up. I need to talk with Alfred for a moment," Thomas tried to hide his expression.
'I am sorry, uncle,' I thought while walking upstairs. 'I am sorry for making you go through all of that pain.'
