ALMH Chapter 32: A Dark Omen
A dense, lush forest hugs a winding river, the trees towering over the forest floor like graceful giants. A soft breeze whispers its secrets along the path, carrying with it a crisp, clean scent. In the distance, a few people gather around a fire, making breakfast and keeping warm on this chilly morning, the anticipation of finding their new home lending an edge of excitement to their mood.
It had been three days since they had parted ways with King Glairn and the dwarves from the Elder Mountains. For the most part they were getting along famously. The first two nights were a little rough as they each learned their station. However, by the third night they had all begun to settle into their roles.
In their tent, James and friends are fast asleep, the gentle snores filling the air like a quiet symphony. But the tent flap is suddenly thrown open and light fills the space, waking James and the others.
