Chapter 14: Ambush [7]

'Wow damn, This sword is so overpowered !' thought Keith as a surprised expression formed on his face.

'Too bad that the protagonist, Edward, never used it that much in the original novel,' thought Keith as he continued to ponder about the previous events that happened in the original novel in which the protagonist, Edward, had decided to use this overpowered sword in.

*Sigh*

'What a shame. If only he had known about how much this sword was overpowered,' thought Keith as he sighed heavily before he continued on his train of thought about the protagonist, Edward, and his incompetence.

'Well there is no need for crying over spilled milk,' thought Keith as a smile formed on his face.

'This time around though, this overpowered sword is mine and I am going to use it to its full potential,' thought Keith as he raised [The Sword Of Destruction] and then he looked at it before admiring the sword.

Just then, the system started to speak again to Keith as it brought him out of his stupor.

[There are more important things to worry about now, than for the host to be admiring his sword. And here I was thinking that the host was starting to become smarter as he was starting to use his brain but I guess I was wrong.] - said the system with a disappointed tone in its robotic voice as it admonished Keith about his carelessness.

Keith felt his eyebrows twitch and then he grit his teeth when he heard the system's words about him and he started to have a desire to beat up the system.

'I swear if you had a physical body then I would have beaten you black and blue,' thought Keith to himself as he started to breathe in deeply through his nose so that he could calm down before he lost his cool.

[What was that ? Did you say something ?] - asked the system with a confused tone in its robotic voice as it had missed what Keith had said due to its rambling.

'Huh ? Nope, I did not say anything. You must be imagining it,' said Keith with a small smile that had formed on his face.

[Why do I feel like I am being insulted ?] - asked the system with a slightly suspicious tone that could be heard in its robotic voice as it questioned Keith.

'Nah, you are just imagining it,' said Keith with a slightly passive tone in his voice as he answered the system's question in a passive manner.

[Uh huh-] - said the system in a slightly suspicious tone in its robotic voice before it got interrupted by Keith who was seemingly trying to change the topic.

'Any way, forget about that and tell me about the reason why my other sword [The Sword Of The Devourer] will be able to get sliced and diced into shreds ?' asked Keith with a serious tone in his voice as he made a poker face to mask his laughter.

[Oh yeah, because the orc's claws are extremely sharp and they are able to slice and dice anything that it comes into contact with.] - explained the system with a very knowledgeable tone in its robotic voice as it answered Keith's questions which were aimed at changing the topic of the conversation.

A large smile formed on Keith's face as he had managed to change the topic of the conversation without the system being able to catch on.

[Your sword [The Sword Of The Devourer] does not have any destructive layer or protective layer that is covering it so it is very vulnerable against the orc's extremely sharp claws.] - said the system with a very knowledgeable tone in its robotic voice as it voiced its reasons to Keith.

'Oh. So what can I do to prevent that from happening ?' asked Keith with a understanding tone in his voice as he nodded in acknowledgement to the system's analysis.

[Glad that you asked. But can you really not figure it out for yourself ?] - asked the system with a slightly irritated tone in its robotic voice as it voiced out its displeasure at Keith.

[You literally rely on me too much. Can you just grow up and start to use that brain of yours that you got for free to start to think for yourself and make your own plans.] - said the system with a slightly irritated tone in its robotic voice as it voiced out its displeasure at Keith about him relying on it too much.

[Or is it too much to ask from you ?] - asked the system with a slightly questioning tone in its robotic voice before it continued to speak as it interrupted Keith before he could answer the system's question.

[Any way, forget it. This is the last time I am going to be helping you. You really need to get your shit together and start to think for yourself. You cannot rely on me every single time.] - said the system with a very serious tone in its robotic voice as it cut off any form of response from Keith who looked dumbfounded.

[So to solve your problem you just need to focus on your destructive element and control it so that it can cover it up like a protective layer.] - said the system in a calm tone in its robotic voice as it gave Keith some advice about his approach for the "last" time.

Keith stood there with a dumbfounded expression on his face as he listened to the system's words.

'Why does its words make me look like I am the incompetent one ?' asked Keith in a dumbfounded tone in his head as he questioned himself and his actions as well as the system's words.

'I am the one who found the overpowered weapon as well as the overpowered skills yesterday, not him ! And yet it says that I am overly reliant on it ! Damn him,' said Keith with an angry tone as well as an equally angered expression on his face as he cursed the system in his head while he continued to complain in his head about the system's words.

'Hmm ... but the system is right. Ever since I started to fight against these monsters I have been overly reliant on it. I need to start doing things myself from here on out,' said Keith with fierce determination in his voice as well as on his face as he came to a sudden conclusion.

After coming to a sudden yet firm conclusion, Keith gripped both of his swords as he started to concentrate deeply on what he wanted to do.

After a few seconds, a destructive aura started to radiate from [The Sword Of Destruction] first as it had Keith's destruction element inside of it.

And not too long after, a destructive aura started to envelop [The Sword Of The Devourer] like a protective layer as both of his swords started to glow a dark purple colour from the destructive aura that was surrounding them.

He then released a massive aura of killing intent as he looked at the horde of monsters that were standing in front of him.

He then shifted his gaze towards the transformed orc and then he eyed it like it was his prey with an unparalleled amount of killing intent which was oozing out from his destructive aura.

The transformed orc glared back at Keith with an equally unparalleled amount of killing intent in its own aura that was dark red as it eyed Keith like he was its prey.

The two of them glared at each other for at least a couple of minutes before they charged at each other with each of them letting out their own battle cries.

The orc swung its massive hand towards Keith's face so that it could claw his face out, only for him to dodge the attack by ducking underneath the huge arm.

Keith then drew his sword backwards before he swung it towards the orc's exposed abdomen.

"ROARRR~"

The orc roared loudly as it felt the sword that belongs to the human pierced its stomach.

The orc then fell down onto its knees as it started to disintegrate into nothingness after being in contact with Keith's sword's destructive aura.

After a few seconds, the familiar sound of drop items appearing and then falling onto the ground with a loud thud filled the surrounding area as the large horde of monsters watched on with horror in their eyes.

Their horror soon turned into anger as they started to glare at Keith with unhidden killing intent visible in their eyes.

The all quickly started to sworm Keith as they all started to attack him at the same time.

Keith quickly stood up and then he raised both of his swords in front of him in a defensive stance as he started to wait for the horde of monsters' attack.

The large horde of monsters started to lunge and swing their weapons towards Keith's body but all of their weapons started to disintegrate into nothingness after coming into contact with Keith's destructive aura.

Keith then quickly started to attack the large horde of monsters that were in front of him as well as the ones that were starting to surround him.

He kept on swinging his sword through the large horde of monsters as he could see several limbs that were flying through the air from being cut off from their bodies.

Monsters after monsters continued to disintegrate into nothingness upon being in the slightest of contact with Keith's destructive aura.

The familiar sound of drop items appearing and then falling onto the ground could be heard continuously throughout the surrounding area as the horde of monsters died out.
