Chapter 8

"Clara, can you hear sounds from afar?"

Clara smirked arrogantly at Joseph.

"Of course, Your Highness."

"Tsk. For sure, I'm better than you." He smirked victoriously.

Clara pouted and hitted Joseph in the head, they started arguing again.

'Is this love-hate relationship?' Chiara thought.

She faked a cough and they looked at her.

"If I snap my fingers once, I need Clara by my side but if I snap it twice, I need Joseph, and if I snap it thrice, I need you both. Understand?"

"Yes, my lady." They said in unison.

They spend the day idling on the flower field and soon the night came. As peaceful as it seems but there's always a calm before the storm.

The sound of rain woke Chiara up from her sleep. She stared at the window. Watching the water drop and enjoying the silence.

There's a full moon, she smiled and remembered how she liked watching it with...who was it again? What was that person like? She can't remember.

She covered herself using the most thick blanket she has.

'I miss your warmth, whoever you are...'

She went back to sleep thinking nothing.

The next day went smoothly like just any other day but when the noontime reached its peak, Chiara collapsed.

When Arden heard the news he immediately called for a priest, magician and a doctor.

It's getting hard to breathe for Chiara. Her forehead is so so hot. Her limbs felt like they were getting sliced and breaking.

She's restraining herself to scream, in order to not show any signs of weakness.

"Dont...d..don't touch me." She said.

"But princess, it's for your sake..."

She's breathing really heavily. Covering her eyes from everyone.

"I said don't!" She screamed and it revealed her eyes.

Her green orbs became a darker hue of magenta. The priest and magician gasped at the same time the doctor accidentally dropped his glass tube.

"The—the Princess' mana is overflowing uncontrollably! It's too much for her body!" The magician announced.

'Idiots! Lies! It's not just the mana, it's because my soul is completely moving in this timeline. I read this from somewhere around the library.'

Chiara is correct. According to the book of transposed matrix, any soul that transfers to one's body will suffer a short-term coath.

Everybody laughed at the author of the book and labelled him as crackhead.

While the mana of the one's who have Imperial blood is so intense to the point that in one touch they can actually kill a giant dragon. It takes a whole 10 years for some normal people to have that kind of power level.

That's the reason why everyone wants to have the blood of a royalty. To have a control in the overwhelming power they have.

Thus, to sum it all, this soul moving thingy will be a huge difficulty for Chiara and her plans.

"W-we should do something!"

'Of course you should do something! My lovely Iara, I can't lose my daughter!' Arden on his mind.

The magician slowly drew a magic circle.

"Please, recite the prayer, Priest."

"Oh almighty god of Gigracrea, may you hear this prayer of mine. Heal the princess of this land. Elixyvette, you are the most powerful in this empire. Your descendant hails you with all her heart. Praise is all yours. Oh almighty Elixyvette."

The magic circle slowly glowed little by little. A small portion of a ladylike figure showed up, the silhouette of the god went out.

"A portion of my soul is called, only those who are close to thee have the power to do so. What kind of race do you have, human kid?"

The priest and magician kneeled before the so-called god. The doctor resumed what he is doing. He didn't see the summoning. He continued to rub a cold wet towel on the Princess' face. The Princess' breathing slowly became normal. He's rubbing it so calmly.

"Tsk." Elixyvette clicked her tounge.

"The Princess is one of your humble descendants almighty Elixyvette."

She furrowed her brows and said:

"Is that so? Then, I can heal her very easily."

"Wait!" Arden said. "How am I supposed to trust that you really are the god, Elixyvette? What if you're a fraud?"

She rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers, there the time has finally stopped.

'These lowly idiots are doubting me?! Hah?! How awful!'

Now only Chiara and her are moving in this time.

"You..." Chiara opened her eyes. "Your soul contains the scent of a demon."

"Of course, because I am." Chiara stated proudly.

Elixyvette placed her palm on Chiara's forehead.

"Thy soul is a part of me. I will heal this body. She'll never experience this kind of sickness again."

After that Chiara writhed in pain.

"Endure the process, half demon."

After the screaming and shouting she can already stand up, jump and sit. Now is the hard part, the god will interrogate her.

"Hey demon, I once loved your race..."

"And I did loved your race too." Chiara said.

The interrogation didn't happen, for Elixyvette is so prideful. After all, she's still holding onto the promise of that certain demon.

They are shocked to see Chiara all and well, they are confused how she became fine all of a sudden. They asked for Elixyvette and she said the god healed her and believed it all. This day was so long.

Chiara is waiting for the nighttime to come. She's reflecting through herself. Why did she felt a connection towards the god itself when she has a demon blood flowing through her soul.

"Hmm? What is it?" She asked as she heard the footsteps. Her senses became much sharper when the healing happened.

The magician didn't believed that Elixyvette healed Chiara without expecting anything in return. He planted some listening bugs. It is a flat square and it may seem just a harmless shard of glass.

Chiara knew it all, she knows of course.

"Princess, are you feeling better? Should I bring your food in or will you go to the dining room?" A calm voice of Cara soothed her ears.

"I'll be there in a second." She said firmly.

Chiara readied herself and placed a poker face. As stoic as it may seem but there's just something bothering her. The stare that she can feel but she can't see. She feels like someone's watching her.

"The soup is delicious, thank you for the meal." She get out of her seat and went back to her room.

She lied down to bed and looked up the ceiling. The high ceiling of the palace. She almost forgot where she's living at.

"Now, what am I gonna do next? Breakdown? Nah...never in this lifetime."

She laughed a her own words and thought about the conservatoire that she's going to attend. First of all, she's going to make an intimidating aura and secure a respectable position. She's not going to be a damsel in distress like the other cliche fairy tales. Her swordsmanship is already great. Well she's a front fighter on tsujigiri and also fought on Japanese clan war. A martial artist who got her black belt in a week.

And here comes the catastrophe, she's already on her way to Krizantema Conservatoire, she can now see the glyph of the academy.

"Princess are you excited?" Clara was with her.

"Of course she is thrilled!" Joseph said.

Yes the two of them were with her and they also passed on the entrance exam. They both took precautions. Despite their statuses, they are smart and they took exams on different academies as a beforehand action.

"Tss! I didn't ask you, extra!"

Not minding the two of them, Chiara looked out of the window and saw the big passage of the school.

The big emblem shined brightly through the big gates of the academy. A lot of students paid attention to the Crown Princess' carriage. A lot of mindful critiques were heard.

"Stand straight!" The Knights shouted and opened the door for Chiara. Joseph exited first and held his hands out for Chiara while his other hand was on his chest and his head bowing down. Clara was behind Chiara and also bowing her head while holding their things and slowly walking after the Princess.

"Pay respect!" The head night shouted and they all raised their swords up in the air. The Princess is walking gracefully with her forehead up.

"Ouch!" Someone fell in front of Chiara and immediately flashed a look of worry for her life.

She immediately kneeled and begged for her life. The Knights pointed their swords towards her.

Chiara raised her left hand and shushed the girl.

"Such thing didn't harm me and it isn't intentional. Put down your swords." She smiled meaningfully.

The Knights that are with her are the Knights that saw her on the hill of corpse she killed. They gulped really hard, really really hard.

"Wow! The Princess is so kindhearted."

"The Princess is so elegant!"

"She's so cool! So kind!"

Kind my ass.
