Discplinary Hall

Li Feng looked to the right.

For the past ten minutes, as they were following Young Master Shi into the Core Sect, Bai You had not spoken a single word.

Every time the young master made conversation, she did not even acknowledge him.

"She is so brave… why does she want to offend someone in the sect so early?" He thought to himself.

Young master Shi looked at them once again.

"Well then. I guess this is where I leave the lively one." He sighed as he looked forward.

Li Feng looked at the same direction.

This was going to be it, wasn't it?

The disciplinary hall.

Just the name alone was exciting. A name and title of power.

He was going to control the discipline of the sect, and make sure his fellow disciples follow the rules.

He was going to-

Li Feng's face froze as he looked at where Young Master Shi pointed.

"As you can see, all of this is part of the Disciplinary Hall." He waved his hands around.

Li Feng looked around.

He saw absolutely nothing.

All there was was a single shack.

One ten by ten shack that was barely the size of a single room.

"Please tell me someone is kidding me. Is someone playing a joke? In a sect so big, the hall is a single shack?" He muttered.

Young Master Shi chuckled.

"Of all the three halls, the disciplinary hall… well it is certainly the one with the least members. The Second Elder doesn't take many disciples."

"The Elder Hall takes in every elder as a member automatically, and the Medicine Hall takes in every alchemist as a member. But the disciplinary Hall remains one of the smallest elder forces in the sect."

Li Feng nodded and he took a deep breath.

"I understand. But I have taken the elder as my master. I am sure that I will learn a lot from an elder." He said with a resolute face.

"Do not worry, Junior Brother. The Second Elder is still the second elder. He is an elder of the Seven Sword Sect. To be his disciple, that is an honor that not many enjoy." Young Master Shi said.

"Well then. I will lead this lady to the Medicine hall. I hate that place." Young Master Shi shook his head and spat out.

"One question, Senior brother." Li Feng quickly called out.

Young Master Shi looked back.

"If you are allowed access into the Core Sect, which hall are you a part of? Elder Jing said that it was almost impossible to become a Core Sect Disciple…" Li Feng asked.

"That is a good question. If you see someone here in the Core Sect, more likely than not, he or she is not a disciple of the core sect."

"But you see, I am not your average Senior Brother. I am Jiang Shi! The sect's number three disciple!" Young Master Shi said proudly.

Li Feng stared at Jiang Shi blankly.

"Sigh." Jiang Shi shook his head.

"It is a pretty big deal. You'll understand later. But anyways, I am also a part of the disciplinary hall, so you'll see me later anyways." Jiang Shi winked at Li Feng and glanced back at Bai You.

"Let us get going, Young Lady. We do not want to keep Elder Cai waiting." He said.

Bai You just nodded and started walking behind him.

"So he is my senior brother even within the Disciplinary Hall. He is a fellow disciple of the second elder." Li Feng muttered.

His attention was brought back to the single shack in front of him.

Taking another deep breath, he slowly walked toward the shack.

There was a wooden door, filled with cracks and holes at the entrance. Behind the holes was a pitch darkness that suggested that there was no one within this small room.

Still, Li Feng took another step forward and knocked on the door.

Every knock felt solid, like he was knocking on a wall and not a door.

His knuckles felt a sharp pain even though he was just knocking. Perhaps the door was made of some special material that he couldn't comprehend.

After three knocks, there was a silence.

Li Feng just stood there, still.

"What do I do now? Do I just stay here and wait, or do I go back after some time if there is no response?" Li Feng thought to himself.

"Forget it. It is better to be patient and wait. I wouldn't want to leave a bad impression if he is testing me." He decided.

Instead of knocking once again, he moved to the side, sitting cross legged next to the door.

He closed his eyes, and to pass the time, tried experimenting with the cycles of Qi that he had just gotten accustomed to.

"Hmmmm…."

A long and deep sound echoed in his ears as Li Feng suddenly opened his eyes.

The shack next to him, and the grass and trees around them all disappeared.

Instead, he seemed to be in a dark room with no light other than from the ceiling.

The dim lighting told him that he was on a mat with some incense next to him. It was similar to the second rooms in the residences given to him.

When he looked forward, though, he could see that he was not alone.

"You are finally here. Well then, you have a very interesting Qi flow." The Second Elder smiled as he looked at Li Feng.

"I can see that you have never cultivated before this. You are still getting accustomed to working with Qi." He said.

Li Feng nodded quickly.

"I was never given the opportunity to cultivate before, Elder. I am sure that I can work hard-"

"Don't worry, child. You are too tense." The second elder chuckled.

"And remember. From now on, it is not Second Elder. It is Master for you."
