Telling of the Impossible

Sitting with Thebe and Timaeus in an apartment granted to them, Art told them of what he had seen. As Niall rubbed himself against the legs of his friend and master, the Young Gael uttered: "It was impossible and yet it was actually there before me! One just doesn't see things like that, like him!"

Sitting upon a bench, the Athenian Girl and the Corinthian both stared in shock. To hear of such things was one thing, but to actually see them was another. They may not have actually seen the Minotaur, but the concept of such a monster being in their vicinity was enough to leave them disturbed.

"Even Chiron's less than noble brethren are not so abominable." Thebe quietly said, holding a hand to her chest with a look of fear in her eyes.

Art had heard of Chiron, the centaur son of Cronus and the oceanid Philyra, paternal half-brother of Zeus and so, both thrice-great-uncle and uncle to Heracles. Indeed, from what Art had heard, other centaurs were not half as noble as Chiron, but even then, they were not the flesh-eating monstrosity that Asterion was. Centaurs were legion, but there was only one Minotaur, one offspring of the unholy union of beast and sorceress goddess.

And yet… Could there be more to come? Or were there others out there in the wide world, other man-eating offspring of bull and goddess outside of Achaea. Art had heard of Apis in Kemet, but what even was Apis? Some sort of bull god, Art believed, but was that all he was, or was he something like Asterion that had come to be worshipped as a god. Was that the Minotaur's destiny? Would he one day be deified as his brother abomination Apis was?

Clutching his cane tightly, Timaeus narrowed his eyes and stared at a bull fresco on the wall of the apartment and said: "We must leave this place!"
