Training

It was a hot evening for the sun showered light all upon the surface. It erased every bit of darkness in its path. The wind barely blew by this day making it warm. Just the heat alone would make you look like you ran a marathon. Maybe that was why most people took a break off from work today and why the environment wasn't as crowded as it was the other days for everyone locked themselves in their houses. That wasn't the same for Feran and Xavier for they thought it was a perfect day to start training.

They were in a wide field of grass. For some reason, Feran walked all the way out from the town to train. Xavier looked at Feran expecting the worse," So are we gonna fight?"

" Do I look like my name is Susan, of course not! There's zero need for that and you've already awakened anyway."

" So what are we going to do?"

" The what to do and the not to do. I'll be teaching you something." Feran smiled and stood as he said this. " Ahem! Well let's get started shall we?"

" Anytime," Xavier said.

" Well then, a demonstration?" Feran placed his arms across his chin.

" It's up to you."

Feran then pushed out his palm facing straight. He then raised his hand up and as he did this a glacier plummeted from the ground in an instant. As it got bigger the range got wider making it the perfect size. It was almost like Xavier's ice spell but better for it was almost five times the size and length. It nearly took up the whole field.

' A spell that powerful without an incantation of any sort, that can't right can it?'

Normally spells that affected big areas would be an incantation but Feran pulled it off without one. All with just a single hand movement.

Feran then opened his hand and closed it, breaking the whole ice spell. It looked like glass breaking from a tall height. Then the broken ice pieces started levitating. He then discharged it out. It looked like ice shards but way bigger, in fact, enormous.

" That was a gravity spell. Surprised ain't you." Feran then pointed at himself as he grinned. " Well then, again!"

He shot another Ice Glacier out of the ground, it was unreal how fast it shot out and how it looked like an earth spell. He fired a round flame spell fairly small in size neither was it strong. And at the same time, the ice spell then broke up into pieces.

" See, when you fire two elements at once the other gets canceled," Feran explained." Not only that but it wastes a lot of mana." Feran then yawned," Well then, it's about time I started showing you something useful."

Feran then plunged his sword onto the ground; he held his hands on the sword and closed his eyes. As stood there, a strong presence of wind passed by. A strong transparent aura appeared around his muscular body and his soft grip tightened so strong then cracks appeared in the ground. He pulled his longsword out of the ground and slashed. The slash blew everything in its path. Even though Xavier was in another direction his body still getting pushed away from the wind. The slash started as a normal attack until it turned into a visible slice in the air. As Xavier looked at Feran he saw a difference in strength by millions. Feran's body was replenished in mana. He looked new. He then smiled as his white hair blew and he looked at Xavier.

" That was absorbing mana from the environment. You see every living thing has mana whether dormant or active. So by channeling energy from the environment I was able to steal some mana. The reason why I chose this place is because of the mana beasts, but they don't know that I absorbed most of their mana."

Xavier's expression turned shocked," How'd you do that?"

" Think of it as releasing energy or mana but in an opposite way. Normally you would need to channel energy from your mana core and release it from the mana gates but just absorb mana with mana." Feran had a pretty dumb way of phrasing things.

" You can't do that now otherwise you would cause a leakage in your mana core."

" When?" Xavier was eager to know.

" When your mana core has developed a bit more. Now another thing, when doing an ice spell don't just release it but picture it until your can release it instantly same goes for earth magic. You can control which shape you want your ice or earth spell to be for example a shield but you have to picture it. Attack me, whether punch or sword!" Feran then threw his sword on the ground.

Xavier then rushed and as he got closer he balled his fist. It looked like he was going to punch but at that moment he did a Brazilian kick. his kick traveled at Feran's face before being stopped by a wall of ice." Now, most people prefer to do this but most can't. So what they do is a water spell then they change the temperature of the water changing it to ice."

" Right!" Xavier held his foot in pain while hopping on one foot thinking it would help the other.

" Xavier, this is important. It's not only because you awakened that you're getting weakened. Since you use different elements your body slowly forgets other elements so if you keep using different elements continuously each time you fight you will slowly lose another because your body forgets that. So always stick to one type of spell in each fight. It isn't hard, different opponents have a weakness against different elements whether it be an elemental type spell or a subset."

" A subset?" Xavier bent his head in confusion.

" A subset is a spell not related to elemental spells. For example, Alchemy, the ability to control matter at will. Subsets can be things like Necromancy or spacial magic. But the point is, slowly get better at one element at a time then move onto subsets. And always visualize your spells. And don't channel too much energy."

" Okay."

" Well then, I got to go out to patrol in a few hours so let's end this session until tomorrow. Practice ice magic then practices else though I'm not good with elements other than Ice. So you'll be alone when that time comes."

Feran then walked away.
