Good Grief

Conrad's eyes drifted to the two girls making their way toward him. They kept him waiting here for a while now so naturally, he wanted to give them a hard time about it but decided against it. He wasn't going to win.

"You two sure took your time"

He asked in a measured tone, though his eyebrows were slightly lifted.

"What, you gonna whine about it?"

Tessa quickly replied. She had a smirk drawn across her lips. Clearly, they didn't care about wasting his time.

He almost shot back a retort, but he caught himself. He'd just end up in a verbal argument with a 17-year-old teenager. Not only was that immature but it was also incredibly lame.

Connie sighed.

Meliora, however, stepped forward and gave him that cold, stern look he always sees on her. At first, it was intimidating, but he had gotten used to it by now. He knew that was just her normal face. It didn't really mean she was angry or conveying whatever emotion it came with.
