Resumen

After struggling for three years in the apocalypse, because of her mother's act of kindness, Ji Wanwan and her family were harmed by their so-called relatives and died horribly to the countless gnashing of zombies. When she opened her eyes, she was back three days before the apocalypse began. At this time, she had awakened the Super Shelter System. While everyone was engulfed in the zombie crisis, Ji Wanwan was lying flat in the refuge, collecting rent and recruiting underlings... When her enemies came knocking and her softhearted family once again tried to morally blackmail her into taking in those relatives, Ji Wanwan said— We're not close, stop claiming relations! Want to stay? Sure! Hungry? Sure! Want to freeload? No way!!! What? Still want to cause trouble? Then let the underlings throw the troublemakers out, offering them as a human flesh gift package to the zombies outside the shelter! This time, Ji Wanwan made it clear that she lacked virtues in her life, so nobody should even think about morally blackmailing her! In her refuge, she made the rules! But wait, what's up with these underlings? Max-level Water Element Superpower big shot: Wanna play with water? Carrying a water gun and squirting zombies, the kind that doesn't make a peep? Max-level Gold Element Superpower big shot: Do you like gold? I'll take the crystal cores from the zombies and make gold jewelry for you! Max-level Wood Element Superpower big shot: Like orchids? Fine, I'll make the zombies' heads outside grow full of orchids! Max-level Fire Element Superpower big shot: Want to see fireworks? I'll blow up all the zombies outside for you! Max-level Earth Superpower big shot: Zombies too ugly, hurting your eyes? Bury, just bury them! If they're buried underground, you won't see them! Max-level All Elements Superpower big shot: Step aside, let me handle this! Ji Wanwan: "......"

Chapter 1Chapter 1: Three Days Before the Apocalypse

[Beep——]

[Super Shelter System Binding]

[Host Information Loading...]

[Name: Ji Wanwan. Age: 20 years old.]

[Gender: Female. Species: Human Clan.]

[Superpower Awakening: Not yet awakened]

[Newbie Task: Acquire goods worth 1 million yuan]

[Task Completion Time: 2 hours]

[Task Completion Reward: A Level 1 Refuge capable of withstanding initial zombie attacks, note: comes with its own electricity and water circulation system; Host may choose to increase a physical attribute by 10 points]

[Task Countdown: 1 hour 59 minutes 59 seconds]

A loud buzzing echoed in her ears, and Ji Wanwan, sitting in the chair, shuddered and appeared to be momentarily distracted.

System?

She attempted to access her data.

[Physical Strength: 5 Endurance: 5]

[Strength: 5 Agility: 5]

[Spirit: 15 Charm: 20]

She couldn't confirm the reality of the System for the time being, but the environment was all too familiar to her.

She glanced around.

The old family room in the residence bore the marks of years of wear, and seated in the central place of honor was an old woman with a broad back and large waist.

To the old woman's right sat a middle-aged couple.

At the moment, the old woman was pointing at Ji Wanwan's nose, her eyes wide with anger, a fierce and menacing figure.

Ji Wanwan's eyebrows furrowed deeply.

Wasn't this her Second Uncle, Second Aunt, and Second Aunt's shrewd, old mother, who always acted high and mighty due to her age?

This scene?

Didn't it resemble the last time they came to morally coerce Mother, forcing them to sell the house?

Right, wasn't she dead?

Could it be that she was reborn?

"Ji Wanwan, whether the house is sold or not is not up to you to decide! Your parents have already agreed! What are you still shouting about, you sickly, good-for-nothing burden!"

The fat old lady was spitting saliva from her mouth, her cheeks trembling with anger.

Second Aunt hurriedly tried to smooth things over, "Wanwan, don't be stubborn, look, your parents have loosened up..."

Ji Wanwan couldn't help but laugh out loud.

This area was full of self-constructed houses, each family building two or three-story buildings. A few days ago, Zhou Kai, the CEO of Chengyu Group, came here to scout the area and directly expressed his interest in the land, saying that demolition would proceed by the end of the year.

The fact that Second Uncle's family wanted to buy a house at this time made it clear as day that they were after a profitable deal!

Since childhood, Second Uncle had taken advantage of their grandmother's blind devotion to him, gaining benefits from the main family without restraint.

Because she detested Second Uncle's behavior, she was determined not to sell the house.

After hearing their words, Ji Wanwan was absolutely sure, she was reborn! A gratified smile spread across her face.

Three days after the issue of selling the house was settled, the zombie crisis erupted, and the apocalypse arrived.

Survival in the apocalypse was already difficult, and she had been frail since childhood. To build a refuge to protect her family, she had to compete for supplies with Awakeners who had superpowers, even losing her right hand in the process.

Second Uncle's family somehow found out about her refuge and had the audacity to come begging with thick faces, using the issue of not selling the house to morally coerce her mother into taking them in.

Mother's heart softened for a moment, and she let them in.

But later on, Second Uncle's family took over the nest, complaining that her family was only depleting the scarce resources, and they cruelly kicked her and her brother out of the refuge.

Father Ji, in order to protect his family, led away the first wave of zombies, followed by Mother...

To protect her, the 'useless person' without a right hand, her brother pushed her and said, "Sister, run!"

She saw with her own eyes her brother being overwhelmed by zombies, and she was always haunted by nightmares of her brother lying in a pool of blood, crying out, "Sister, it hurts..."

The sacrifice of her family's lives only allowed her to cling to survival for one more year in the apocalypse. She heard that the original refuge she had established became a large base capable of housing tens of thousands of people, but she herself eventually died of an infection due to lack of supplies.

In this life, she would protect her family well and not let the refuge be taken away again.

She looked at the sly family seated on the opposite sofa. "Fine, the house can be sold, but I have one condition."

Seeing her relent, Second Aunt was overjoyed, "Deal! What's your condition? I'll meet it if I can!"

Ji Wanwan held up a finger, "One million, I want the money in my account within an hour!"

The room fell silent as soon as she finished speaking.

"What?!" The old lady slammed the table and stood up, "Ji Wanwan, have you gone mad for money? This shabby house of yours in such a remote place is worth at most 600,000!"

Ji Wanwan glanced disdainfully at the old lady and held up five fingers, "I'm going to count to five. If you want to buy it, buy it; if not, get lost!"

"Five!"

"Ji Wanwan! What kind of attitude is this! We are your elders!"

"Four!"

"We're all family here, you're asking for too much; it hurts our feelings!"

Ji Wanwan frowned impatiently, "Three!"

"How about a little less, 650,000!"

"Two!"

"Ji Wanwan! Don't be ungrateful!"

"One!"

"We'll buy it, we'll buy it! But we only have 800,000!" Second Aunt was the first to cave in.

Second Uncle lost his fight as well. Mr. Ji and Mrs. Ji looked over.

Worried she might change her mind, Second Aunt said, "We agree to 800,000, I'll go to the bank right now!"

As if it was a joke, the compensation for the house if demolished was way more than 800,000—she would never settle for a loss!

She absolutely could not let Ji Wanwan sell the house to someone else!

[Task countdown: 1 hour and 30 minutes.]

There was a bank in the residential area so Ji Wanwan urged Second Uncle to get it done quickly.

Suspicion flashed across Second Uncle's face, "Why must the transfer be done within an hour?"

Ji Wanwan made up a reason on the spot, "Investing with a classmate."

Investing? Second Uncle thought she would lose even her underwear: "Huh, your parents raised you well."

Ji Wanwan massaged her right hand, which was intact after her rebirth, noncommittally, "Indeed."

Second Uncle, feeling foolish, quickly completed the transfer.

With the money in hand, she could build a safe refuge full of supplies!

Being physically weak, her parents advanced in age, and the only capable person in the household, her younger brother, having just come of age—if they didn't have a safe refuge, her family would once again repeat the tragedies of their past life.

Eight hundred thousand had been deposited into Father Ji's bank account.

After Second Uncle and Ji Wanwan returned home, Second Aunt immediately started to push them out, "We've given you the money, when are you transferring the house? When will you move out?"

Ji Wanwan was unfazed, "Second Aunt, you have to give us some time to move into a new house, right? Come to collect the house and transfer the property in two days; how does that sound?"

Two days later, the apocalypse would come.

That's how vengeful Ji Wanwan was; last time, they had caused the death of her parents and brother. No matter what she did in this life, it could never be considered excessive.

The old lady agreed, "Alright, we'll come to collect the house the morning after next."

With the money in hand, Ji Wanwan was no longer interested in squabbling with Second Aunt and sent the detestable trio away.

Less than an hour remained to complete the task; she needed to hurry!

Beside her, Mr. Ji's face was covered with worry, "With only two days to find another house and move, isn't it a bit too rushed?"

Ji Wanwan snapped back to reality, "Dad, why don't you let me handle the money? I'll definitely sort out the housing issue within two days!"

Mr. Ji knew his daughter was not robust, but she always had ideas.

After some thought, he felt it was okay to entrust the matter to his daughter and handed the card over, "As long as the house is liveable, don't spend it recklessly."

The moment she took the card, it disappeared from her fingertips.

[Detected a bank card worth 800,000 yuan, current task progress 80/100]

[Task countdown: 1 hour.]

"Mom and dad, first call my brother to come home, I have something to tell you."

Apocalypse Days: I Rule with Foresight and a Powerful Son

You’d think seeing the future would give me a head start on surviving the apocalypse. I had it all planned—until everything I knew shattered when my husband sacrificed himself to save me and our son. Now it’s just me, my three-year-old son Leo, and my cursed gift of foresight that only seems to kick in when it’s nearly too late. I’m doing my best to keep us safe, to find food, to make some kind of plan— “Mommy?” I glance down, trying to ignore the tug on my pant leg as I focus on our supplies. “Not now, Leo. Mommy’s thinking.” “Mommy!” I sigh and finally look down. My three-year-old is standing there, clutching… I blink. “Leo, where did you get a knife?” He shrugs, grinning like it’s the most natural thing in the world. My heart stutters. “No, really. Where did you find that?” I try not to laugh. I mean, he’s three. Maybe he just—found it somewhere? But the next day, it’s a water bottle. Then, a tiny flashlight, somehow with batteries still inside. I don’t even know what else; he’s pulling things out one by one with the pleased grin of a kid who’s just figured out his favorite game. Well, we may just survive this mess after all. Now, if only the universe could have spared me from him. I don’t even know his name, but I know his type: tall, broad, and annoyingly handsome, with an air of calm control that’s out of place in this chaos. Ex-military, if I had to guess, with a voice that’s just as infuriating as his smirk. The man has a habit of showing up at the worst—or best—possible times, with a gun at the ready and secrets buried as deep as those bright green eyes. I mean, he’s probably useful, but I’m trying to keep my eyes on the prize here: survival. For Leo and me. Because, foresight or no foresight, nothing is guaranteed in this new world—except the fact that people like him are trouble.

Caring for Mr. Mutant

[COMPLETED] How can a Mutant and a Mutant Caretaker fight for their love, if science is their greatest enemy? ------------------------ Year 2023: Random DNA mutations suddenly occurred around the world. These mutations caused newborn babies to acquire animal traits, and no one knows why or where they originated. Year 2033: When funds, advanced technology, and a capable workforce became available to study these mutants, a national team of scientists was formed, called the "DNA Mutation Cadre" or "D.M. Cadre". They were given modern, state-of-the-art laboratories complete with equipment and isolation rooms. Here, mutants were studied and monitored in exchange for a large sum of money and government assistance. Year 2048: In the busy city of Makylee, a 25-year-old part-timer, Lia Brentvale, got fired from her two part-time jobs in just one unlucky day. Since her parents aren’t around, she’s the breadwinner of her family, providing for her two college brothers. She applied as a Mutant Caretaker in the D.M. Cadre Research Facility and after passing their exam, she was assigned to the mysterious and aloof vulture mutant. But as she got to know him, she also learned more about D.M. Cadre. Together with her hacker friend and their batchmates, they tried to uncover the deep secrets that lie within the research facility. ------------------------ PREVIEW: Aesop had always felt that being a mutant is a curse. But upon meeting Lia, he started accepting himself. Lia was always pointing out his strong points. She was always encouraging him to enhance his skills and discover his talents. She always tells him not to think of himself as a test subject just like how the scientists treat him. She reassured him that even though he's a mutant, he's not less than a person, so he shouldn't look down on himself. It was her uplifting words and her mere existence that gave color to his monochrome life. "Lia… I love you," Aesop uttered as his golden eyes stared through her deep blue eyes. "Ae, I… I love you, too," Lia then wrapped her arms around Aesop's neck, drawing in close to him. Aesop's hands slid down to Lia's lower back, and he embraced her. Their heartbeats quicken as their lips graze against each other. Lia thought it would be just a simple kiss, just like they had always done after their very first kiss, but she was wrong. Aesop's right hand suddenly caressed her back, then he placed it at the back of her head, pulling her to him with a little force. The vulture mutant's majestic wings enveloped them, and it was as if he was owning her. Aesop's wet tongue slid into her mouth, and it surprised her. She tried to resist, but with his hand at the back of her head, she couldn't get away from him. Eventually, she gave in to that passionate kiss... Eve of the Doomsday

Eve Ziffer always believed that one day her nano-machines would save humanity. It needed to be saved—from pollution, from the climate change, from the wars. Yet in the end, her research instead turned out to be the thing that pushed it into the very abyss. After surviving an attack and waking up from a six-years long coma that followed, Eve opens her eyes to see the world changed beyond recognition. Walking corpses roam the streets, and humans fight them with swords and superpowers. Now Eve is the only person able to finish her own work and fix the nano-machines that brought this devastation. Whether the last vestiges of mankind would disappear, or would the human race rise like a phoenix from the ashes—all lies in hands of Eve and the people she will meet along the way. They will fight and they will scheme and they will talk, because human vices are adversaries as bad as the zombies; and trials of friendship and love can be as perilous as any battle. ===================== Victor leaned towards her face, burning her with his glare. “No.” “I’m doing this for myself, for you and for science. Any single one of these reasons is enough to keep disagreeing with you.” Victor’s eyes dropped to her lips. ‘There is more than a single way to dominate a person…’ Before he could even try to stop himself, he dived in, pressing his lips on hers. His hand grabbed the back of Eve’s head, another fell on Eve’s thin waist and followed the alluring lines of her figure to her hip. His body was burning with inner fire. Eve was too shocked to think. She never expected for this standoff to end like it did. Victor kissed her as if he wanted to eat her. His bites stung, but his lips soothed. The heat of his hand burned her skin even through clothes. Then Eve finally regained her sanity. She drove her knee into Victor’s groin. He gasped and bended in pain, letting Eve go. Before he could resist, she continued the combo with a strike to the back of his head and a submission hold on his arm. “What are you doing?! I should’ve listened to Xia better. Men really are worse than dogs! How did I miss the moment when your brain had turned into mush, Victor?” “I didn’t think that I would need to spell it out, but there can be no romantic interactions in work time, and no romantic relations between researchers and test subjects. More than that, I’m not interested!” ==================== [Status: completed] Warning! story has a good premise. i like the newer idea of this landlord and building a shelter that only the mc can control and her recruiting other superpowered teammates. my bone to pick with however is the inconsistency with power levels. for ex, to begin with, it didn't really make sense for xu water guy to suddenly obtain level 10 with his water powers when he didn't have a breakthrough. he literally was just sitting in a bath (can't exactly remember but smth like that) and just shot up to lvl 10 without any fighting stimulus and after just obtaining his power recently and barely using his new powers at all. then the team has a battle with 2 monsters that are only at level 4-5 and yet it requires everyone (like 5 people) including water boy to fight them. it would've made more sense if his power was only at lvl 5 cuz how is a monster 6 LEVELS BELOW (not 1, not even 2 or 3) gonna "exhaust" his powers? usually, it's already difficult to level up because of the exponential power differences as stages increase so it doesn't make sense for him to be struggling to beat these 2 monsters at all and needing help as well. even if power elements clash just his lvl 10 should be insurmountable for the monsters to beat. if it's because he hasn't gotten used to his powers or isn't trained, then it never made sense for him to be at lvl 10 to begin with and lvl 5 would've made more sense. ofc if this story universe to begin with just has this setup of easily obtainable lvl 10 powers and them not being very different from level 4 powers, then ig that would explain it....?? 😪
