Spying Vacation

" So let me get this straight: you managed to get home, dealt with everything you needed to deal with, and are now meeting up with everyone you have come to care about during your whole multiverse adventure to either invite them back to your home or just to see how they are doing."

" That sums it up nicely, Ivy."

I answered Poison Ivy as I watched Neopolitan and Harley... Playing chess... While hanging upside down... Why am I suddenly getting the feeling I should not have let the two of them meet? For the sake of my peace of mind, I am not going to dwell on it right now as there are other things to preoccupy myself with for the time being. Cirilla continued to gore herself on pizza as she fell in love with the popular junk food meanwhile, but ignoring that, I asked the Leafy Villainess.

" Have you heard anything about Floyd recently?"

" He is in lock-up at Belle Reve."

It looks like I am heading to Louisiana; Cajun cooking does sound good for dinner. I took out my phone and texted a few information brokers to get me all the information on Floyd's case and whose palms I needed to grease for his early release. While waiting, I will just chill with Harely and Ivy with Neopolitan and Cirilla.

" Enough about me; how have you been, Ivy?"

" Alright, could be better, could be worse. Harley being Harley means that there is rarely a dull moment. Just last week, she tried to steal a bunch of fancy yachts and give them to a homeless community by the docks. You can guess how that turned out."

I could not help but chuckle at the Crazy Harlequin playing Robin Hood. Harley is not trying to be purely a bad guy but is also doing some good here and there because she wants to, but she does enjoy the occasional bit of chaos. Old habits die hard and all that. The Leafy Villainess told me all the sorts of trouble her friend and sort-of girlfriend got into during my time away from DC. I cracked up at some of the insane crap Harley pulled off, and it made me wish I could have seen it in person.

I might have my issues in this universe, but I am still glad I came and made the friends I met.

At Mt.Justice, the Justice League's newly formed Shadow Team was residing at the old headquarters. Batman gathered them to go over their next mission, and the Shadow Team comprised of several young heroes. Such as Robin, aka Richard Grayson, Superboy, now known as Conner Kent, Kid Flash, otherwise known as Wally West, Aqua Lad, or Kaldrur'ahm in Atlantis, Wonder Girl, also known as Cassandra Sandmark, Miss Martian, called Megan Morse on Earth, Zatanna, and lastly the latest addition to the Shadow Team brought in by Kent Nelson, the retired Doctor Fate, Raven, otherwise called Rachel Roth for her civilian identity.

Batman looked around the gathered team and started debriefing them for their next mission.

" Shadow Team, this is your next target."

An image of Silva Zelretch Branwen appeared as he was walking through Gotham.

" Woah, woah, Br-Batman, you are sending us after him of all people!?"

Robin exclaimed in shock as he read Silva's file, and it was nothing short of suicide for the Shadow Team to confront the heavy hitter despite the lack of casualties on Silva's part. Batman sternly and calmly told his partner\adopted son.

" Robin, calm yourself; you and the team won't be confronting him. Your mission is only to identify what he is up to and report back. The League will then take it from there."

" What's the big deal about this guy?"

Superboy asked as it was a first for him to see the Boy Wonder panic. Kid Flash explained while munching on some chips.

" To put it in simple terms, he royally kicks ass and can go toe to toe against the WHOLE Justice League."

" Really?"

Superboy asked skeptically, and even Miss Martian added a warning.

" Even Uncle John told me never to enter his mind as he can trap telepathy in it if he wants to."

Raven solemnly contributed what she knew about him as well without looking away from his image.

" He is also a master of various mystic arts and can subdue interdimensional entities that can be considered gods."

Superboy looked dumbfounded at all this information, and that was before Batman dropped a bomb.

" He also had a hand in your creation, Superboy."

" WHAT!?"

The Clone shouted in shock and looked at the image more closely as if to memorize Silva's appearance. Batman further explained.

" From looking at your DNA, several hallmarks in your genetic sequence serve as a type of signature unique to Silva Branwen's handiwork. Meaning he is connected to Cadmus and may know more about whoever else is involved."

Superboy clenched his fists as he had too many questions and nowhere enough answers. Wonder Girl then asked.

" Um, quick question: Wonder Woman always told me out of the various enemies she faced, Silva Branwen was the most dangerous. Why?"

Wonder Woman never fully explained the reasons why, as she felt her protégé would not understand fully. Aqua Lad was also curious.

" My mentor has also said something similar."

Everyone was eyeing Batman as they had similar interests in the villain they had heard of but never met in person, well, except for one. Batman then brought up some old combat footage of the League's conflicts with the Snow Leopard Man and started to explain their target's abilities.

" Enhanced Strength on par with Superman, high-speed movements, incredible reflexes, invulnerability against most forms of conventional damage, high levels of martial ability, energy blasts, matter manipulation, spatial manipulation, and, of course, mastery over high technology and mystic arts with high levels of intelligence to as well are the most obvious reasons to warrant caution.

However, what makes him a unique threat is that he is not from our universe and from another reality altogether but fully retains his strength regardless despite the differences in the natural laws. This alone attracts otherworldly entities to him, which puts our universe under threat from more malicious entities, which is why the League is firmly against him, as he does not care about the harm he could bring to us.

So keep this in mind: he is not to be underestimated under any circumstance, and you are to avoid all chances of conflict with him. If you are spotted, you are to retreat immediately. The League would like to avoid confronting him in a populated area at all costs. Shadow Team, you have your mission, so prepare as much as possible."

At the older parts of Gotham, the Shadow Team is scouting out the area to find and observe Silva Branwen. Robin called out through the telepathic link set up by Miss Martian.

" All clear at the north end."

Aqua Lad also reported.

" Westside is clear."

Kid Flash added.

" I got nada at the south end."

" Okay, boys, anything along the coast, Superboy?"

Miss Martian asked the Clone, and he replied.

" I think I found him!"

" Where at Superboy?"

Aqua Lad asked as the team leader, and Superboy replied.

" Off of XXXX Street and XXXX Avenue!"

" Keep an eye on him, Superboy, but do not engage! I repeat, do not engage!"

Aqua Lad hurriedly warns the Clone due to his fiery temper and connection to their target.

" I know..."

Superboy grumbled over the telepathic link, and the Shadow Team started to converge at his location.
