43. Inviting Luffy

Izumi took back his jet ski and put it into the storage space. Then he jumped onto the ship.

"No matter how many times I see him, I find him impressive. I wish I could stand on water like that too." Usopp started commenting when Izumi jumped onto the ship from the water's surface.

Meanwhile, Nami was dumbfounded.

"He…He really can stand on the water?"

"Nami-san, you didn't know?" Sanji wonders. Before going to the Baratie restaurant, Luffy, Zoro, Izumi, Nami, and Usopp were already together. He thought that Nami already knew.

"I've only heard of it. I've never seen it in person." Nami shook her head.

Meanwhile, Luffy grabbed Izumi's shoulder while shaking him.

"Izumi, Izumi, what was that? Can I see it?"

Izumi nodded and took out the jet ski.

"This is a jet ski. A high-speed boat that only two people can ride. Too bad it's too crude."

"Whoa, amazing." Luffy exclaimed.

"Even so, you're amazing at making a thing like this. When did you start making it?" Sanji held his chin curiously.

Nami remembered something, then she said.

"If I'm not mistaken, I saw it before when we were still in Syrup Village."

"Oh, right. Time at Usopp's, wasn't it?" Zoro nodded.

"Haha, you overestimate my abilities. Compared to my friend, I'm nothing." Izumi laughed in embarrassment.

"Your friend? Who?"

They were all curious. Izumi never said anything about himself. Even so, they never asked before Izumi said it himself.

Izumi said, "Her name is Tabane. She's an expert in the field of science and technology. And she's the most genius person I've ever known."

"The most genius person?"

"Why do you think she's the most genius person?"

"Wait a moment! As far as I knew, the most genius person in that field should be Dr. Vegapunk. I've never heard of anyone named Tabane."

Usopp, Sanji, and Nami commented one by one. Then, Izumi explained.

"She is the only person capable of creating lethal weapons that could threaten the world. At first, the world underestimated her. But as soon as her first invention was released, all the countries allied to ask that her invention be shared equally among all countries."

Nami closed her eyes while crossing her arms.

"What you're saying doesn't make sense. It sounds fictitious to me."

Izumi could only smile and replied to her.

"You can say that. If I may say so, I am also a fictional human being."

"Huh, what do you mean?" Sanji knitted his brows.

"I came from another world."

There was a sudden silence. No one responded to Izumi's words at that moment.

"My name is Izumi, Miyamura Izumi. I came from a country called Japan. In my world—"

Izumi told at length about himself and his world which was far different from theirs. And of course, the pirates in Izumi's world were nothing more than folklore.

"Hold on! If you really are from another world, how can you prove it other than your story?" Sanji asked.

"Hmmm. Ninjutsu might not be able to prove that I'm from another world because Wano country also has ninjas. Then…" Izumi said inwardly. Then, he said.

"How about I show you my magic?"

"Magic?"

Everyone was stunned. Only Luffy was not. Instead, the word "magic" piqued his interest.

"Magic, you can use magic? Can you teach me!!??"

Izumi could only smile.

"Actually, I've already shown you my magic. But since I'm quite proficient with my magic, I can construct a magic circle and make its structure invisible. I also added some structure to the magic circle so that my magic can't be felt by others. Let me show you!"

Suddenly, a magic circle 2 meters in diameter appeared and shone brightly under Izumi's feet. Then Izumi explained.

"This is a magic circle. Once I use my magic, I can change places instantly as long as the distance is no more than 100 meters in diameter from this midpoint. Well, maybe for the time being 100 meters. Since this magic can still progress as my power increases, the range will be even wider in the future."

After explaining, Izumi showed how he changed places instantaneously over and over again. Luffy wanted Izumi to teach him even more after seeing that.

"Luffy, if you want, join us! I'm not telling you to stop being a pirate, but just joining our group. Well, you could call this an organization made up of people from many different worlds. If you're lucky, you can use both Ninjutsu and magic in the future. Would you like to join?"

"I'm in. Hihihi."

"Oi, Luffy!" Usopp didn't expect Luffy to immediately agree to it.

"He likes to do what he wants." Sanji could only shake his head.

"He immediately agreed without thinking." Nami sighed. She was a little worried about her captain's reckless behavior.

"Well, it's Luffy after all." While Zoro shrugged his shoulders because he knew Luffy wouldn't back down if something caught his interest.

Izumi took out a phone and gave it to Luffy as a sign that he had joined the chat group. When Luffy received the phone, it was immediately bound to Luffy which he recognized as the owner.

"What is this?" Luffy asked.

Izumi explained what the phone was used for in addition to providing a manual on how to use it. The manual was typed by Izumi himself which was then printed and laminated afterward.

Then, Izumi explained his purpose in coming to the One Piece world and why he invited Luffy to join the group. Izumi also explained that his mission was to get a minimum bounty of 80 million Berries. When he said that, they were shocked.

"What?"

"Mission?"

"Isn't that difficult?"

When they ask. Izumi just answered.

"That's why I told you to leave while I defeated all the marines in the town. I didn't kill them though. However, what I said to that smoky man might get me labeled as someone dangerous to the world government. Oh yeah, right after I defeated the marines, the pirates came wanting to kill all the defenseless marines. So I slipped and killed all the pirates."

"Actually, what did you do it for? Why are you so eager to increase your bounty?"

"And why would they label you as a dangerous person to the world government?" Usopp and Nami asked.

Then, Izumi answered.

"I said that I want to reform this world by overthrowing the world government, hahaha. Oh yes. If I complete the mission, I can gain another ability like rare magic or maybe elemental manipulation. The last time I went on a mission, I got something that allowed me to remember everything in detail. And my friend who went on a mission with me got a God fruit that increased his power by 15 times."

"That much?" Zoro tried to confirm.

"Yup. If Luffy gets a power other than a Devil Fruit and makes him stronger, wouldn't that make you guys comfortable while sailing on the Grand Line?"

"Unbelievable."

"What he had said is beyond logic."

"I couldn't believe that another world existed."

Sanji, Nami, and Usopp commented one by one. And then, Sanji exhaled the smoke and said,

"Huft, if you came to this world just to complete a mission, then you—"

Izumi glanced at Sanji.

"I'm going back to my world. I can't come with you guys to the Grand Line either." He said with a smile.

"Eh…" Certainly, Luffy was surprised. "Aren't you going to sail with us?"

"Sorry, Luffy. I'm glad you wanted to take me. But I can't. Isn't it important that we're still friends?"

"I see. Can't be helped. I thought I'd have a ninja on my ship." Luffy felt dejected because he would lose one member on his ship who he thought would sail the Grand Line together.

"In exchange, I'll give this jet ski to you. How is it?"

"Really? Then, I'll take it, hihihi."

Luffy started to get excited as soon as Izumi intended to give the jet ski to Luffy.
