209. An Odd Restaurant

After ruminating about the dimensional barrier getting thinner, Izumi remembered something.

"Rori, this pattern seemed to happen in anime as well."

Rori turned to Izumi with a question.

"Huh? You mean…"

"Yup, just as you think. It's an anime that tells about the death of students in one class along with a teacher, and a spider who accidentally gets involved in it. All of them reincarnated into a fantasy world and intact memories of their previous lives with the spider being an exception as it obtained a god's soul fragment during its reincarnation, in which, the spider got the memories of the god who lived her life on earth." Izumi explained what he knew about the current situation.

"A god?"

"Yeah. That god was targeted by certain fools from another world that caused this incident."

The god Izumi was referring to was D, which she integrated into as an Earthling. She faked her identity as a student to live as a normal person. She sounded kind and gentle, but Izumi knew that was just her mask. Playful, yet sinister. That was Izumi's thought of her.

A grand-scale magic attack should be aimed at D. However, since D was living her life as a student by being in a class, the attack obliterated everyone in the class without a trace, with D being the exception.

D felt guilty toward students and a teacher who died due to magic that should only target her. "What are you gonna do?" Rori asked. Izumi took a moment of silence by devising a plan. Then, he replied.

"For now, I'm going to sleep. There was no use thinking about measurements against a god like her for now. I still need a few pieces of the puzzle to figure out how to fight a god."

Rori lit her eyes in astonishment.

"I didn't expect him to have planned it. His way of thinking is so sharp, I'm getting more and more interested in him." Rori said inwardly.

Izumi looked at Rori who didn't step out of his room immediately.

"Why are you still in a daze? I'm going to sleep."

With a chuckle, Rori replied.

"Ufufufu. Didn't you crave my body a while ago? Can't be helped, I will accompany you to sleep."

Izumi's face darkened. He opened the door of his room and kicked Rori out. Meanwhile, Rori just gave a chuckle in response.

The next day, school ended early which made Izumi go home earlier than usual. Before Izumi went to meet Mihari, he stopped by her mother's cake shop and didn't expect to see Rori wearing a maid outfit. Unconsciously, he took out his phone and took a picture of her.

Rori just chuckled at what Izumi did. She asked.

"Are you really interested in me wearing a maid outfit? I can do that privately, you know. Ufufufu."

"Not at all."

Izumi only answered curtly before he left the cake shop.

On the way, he opened the chat group.

Izumi: See who submits to me and becomes my servant now! *IMG_XXX*

Izumi sent a photo of Rori wearing a maid outfit.

Tabane-chan: Izumi-chan, you're brave enough.

Kuroneko: He'll be done for!

Izumi: You two, don't forget your promise! Don't just talk without acting.

Tabane-chan: *pouting emoji* You don't need to warn me. I'll be there with Kuroneko later.

Ito asked if Izumi could finish some volumes in a short time since Ito intended to adapt that novel into an anime.

Izumi said that he had already submitted some volumes earlier. Ito naturally delighted. Izumi had submitted five volumes in total. It was enough to be adapted into an anime.

And it would be better if Izumi could submit at least three or more volumes to get a chance for the next anime adaptation since Ito believed in the potential of the Sword Art Online novel.

Izumi hastened his pace to head toward the location while suppressing his presence. And not long after, he saw a three-story building where he also felt the abnormality.

Izumi held his chin in thought. He could see the customers going in and out of the restaurant normally. Unmistakably, what he felt were spatial fluctuations from the restaurant's entrance door. But somehow he didn't see any discomfort from the people going in and out of the restaurant.
