Chapter 43 : Hunting ( 1 )

Deep within the valley, the wolf king lay slumbering upon a massive boulder. Suddenly, its ears twitched and its nose sniffed the air. Slowly, the wolf king opened its eyes, revealing piercing green orbs that gleamed with a cold intensity. It fixed its gaze upon a group of unfamiliar intruders in the distance.

Rising from the boulder, the Wolf King unleashed a chilling howl that echoed through the valley. The other wolves halted their activities, turning their attention towards the source of their leader's call. With bared fangs and fierce gazes, they locked onto the intruders in the distance, their green eyes gleaming with a primal hunger for bloodshed.

With a powerful howl, the wolves swiftly swarmed towards the intruders. Their speed was astonishing as they surrounded the group without hesitation. Nexus's eyes flashed coldly as a Black Spirit Wolf lunged at him from the left with its sharp claws. With a quick turn, Nexus dodged the attack and clenched his fist, delivering a powerful punch to the wolf's head.

With a loud bang, the wolf head immediately cracked opened with blood and brain matters splattering all over and with another punched another wolf was punched in the stomach sending it flying a few meters.

As for the rest of the Black Armored Guards they unsheathed their weapons as they also started killing the wolves, with two to three moves a Black Spirit Wolf would be killed. In just a few minutes about fifty wolves has been killed.

Especially Lexx, this guy is like a reaper, he always kills his target in one hit and he will quickly disappear and when he reappear again a wolf will fall down. Tyler is also like Lexx always managing to kill a wolf one to moves both of them fights like Assassins.

The Wolf king who was in the distance saw that it's pack was being massacred, it's eyes flashed with dense killing intent and with a slight leap it jump from the boulder and with incredible speed it rushed towards the battlefield.

When Nexus caught sight of the wolf king charging towards him from the distance, a flicker of excitement danced in his eyes. Having recently regained his strength, he had not engaged in a proper battle for quite some time. The previous Nobles he had faced had not posed much of a challenge, leaving him with a longing for a true test of his abilities. As the strongest individual in the Mysthaven Kingdom, there were few who could stand against him for long. However, the wolf king presented a different kind of opponent. Demonic creatures were known to possess greater power than Cultivators of the same rank, and Nexus anticipated that the wolf king might push him to utilize half of his full strength.

"Take care of the other wolves. I will take on the wolf king," Nexus commanded loudly to Lexx and the Black Armored Guards. With that, he vanished from his position, a grin of anticipation spreading across his face as he charged towards the wolf king. In response, the wolf king's eyes gleamed with a mix of malice and disdain as it prepared to meet Nexus head-on.

' Fuck is this wolf looking down on me '

Nexus was taken aback by the contempt he saw in the wolf king's eyes, but he quickly increased his speed. Keeping his aura concealed, he relied solely on his physical prowess, leaving the wolf king unaware of his true Cultivation base. In a matter of moments, the two adversaries collided. The wolf king swiped its front paw towards Nexus, cleaving the air in two, while Nexus countered by clenching his right hand into a fist and delivering a powerful blow.

BANG

The impact of their clash sent shockwaves reverberating through the surroundings, causing the wolf king to stagger back a few steps. Nexus, however, remained steadfast, his stance unwavering, still in the punching position with a grin on his face.

The Wolf king shook it's huge head and the previous contempt and disdain it had for Nexus had disappeared. Although the wolf was a 2 Star demonic beasts it knew that it could underestimate this Human infront of it.

Nexus felt a twinge of disappointment in his heart as he realized he had barely tapped into ten percent of his full strength. He was relying solely on his physical abilities in the current situation, facing off against the wolf king a short distance away. The wolf king did not immediately launch an attack, instead observing Nexus with a vigilant gaze, as if searching for a weakness.

Minutes passed with the wolf king circling Nexus, sizing him up without making a move. Nexus grew impatient, thinking to himself, "This wolf is cautious after just one exchange, but I do not have time to play games." With a sly grin, Nexus vanished from his spot, leaving the wolf king momentarily stunned. The wolf king quickly sensed the danger above and swiftly moved, avoiding a powerful attack that left a large pit in its previous location.

Although the wolf king managed to evade the brunt of the attack, it was still affected by the shockwave, stumbling a few meters away. Nexus, impressed by the wolf's keen perception, grinned widely as he exerted strength in his legs and dashed forward at incredible speed. The wolf king, regaining its composure, attempted to strike at Nexus, only to be effortlessly knocked into the air.

As the wolf king landed heavily on the ground, its deep green eyes betraying a hint of fear, Nexus shook his head in disappointment. He had expected the wolf king to provide a greater challenge, allowing him to unleash more of his power. Alas, it seemed the wolf was not as formidable as he had hoped. In that moment, Nexus realized that the higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment.

"Let's put an end to this," Nexus muttered under his breath as he gazed at the wolf king. With a swift whoosh, he vanished from sight, causing the wolf king's expression to shift slightly as it witnessed Nexus disappearing once again.

BOOOOOM

In a sudden boom, Nexus reappeared beside the wolf king in the blink of an eye. His fist made contact with the wolf king's stomach, sending it flying several meters away. The wolf king had not yet regained its footing when another powerful punch struck its head, causing it to see stars.

Then for the next two to three minutes Nexus brutalized the wolf king in all sort of ways. Large and small wounds started appearing on the wolf king body, poured gushed out from these wounds making the giant wolf king black and silky hair drenched in blood.

The wolf king landed heavily on the ground, shakily standing up from the ground it gaze at Nexus as fear flashed in it's eyes, it's now knows that this human was stronger than itself and was toying with it. Nexus glanced at the wolf before shaking his hand, with a tap of of his foot he turned into a red blur rushing towiarss the wolf king.

Seeing that Nexus was once again rushing towards it, the wolf king opened it's huge mouth revealing sharp fangs and teeth, suddenly dense energy stared condensing in it's mouth, in just seconds a huge black orb the size of a football condensed in it's mouth, locking it gaze at Nexus the wolf king shot the black orb towards Nexus.

BOOOOOM

With a loud boom, the black orb exploded generating an intense shockwaves that made the valley shook violently, deep cracks started appearing extending in all directions.

A few moments later the dust settle, a 50 meters deep pit with scorched surface was revealed but Nexus was nowhere to be seen. The wolf king had an exhausted look as if this one attack have drained of it's energy but it's eyes revealed slight smugness as it thought that it attack had killed Nexus.

" Wow what a huge explosion" Suddenly a playful voice sounded right beside it's ear, the wolf king was suddenly froze in place, it's eyes revealed intense fear, it slightly felt a slight pain in it's throat. It's eyes slowly dimmed as it's life force slipped away.

The wolf king huge body crashed to the ground with large volume of blood gushing out from it's neck. Nexus gave a sidelong glance at the wolf king which deader than dead. Shaking his head Nexus at the ongoing battle at the distance and by this time the Black Armored Guards have already killed all the wolves.

The Black Armored Guards whose weapons were covered in blood gathered infront of Nexus, although there were many wolves numbering upto three hundred but for the Black Armored Guards it was quite easy for them and besides they work together in temas of ten so being able to kill so many wolves was not surprising and also their king being killed by Nexus weakened their moral quite a bit.
