An Odd Little Girl

If monsters were a thing, what else was there? Spirits, beasts, vampires, werewolves, witches, wizards, holy creatures, demons, angels - that covers most of them. Who knew what else was there? If that didn’t make it dangerous enough, how about telling you that I live right beside a ravine that had a waterfall flowing into it and a lake at the bottom? Oh, and a valley between several mountains that had numerous forests in it with a jungle right around the corner. Yeah, that’s exactly where I live. In this weird, fantasy world.

Our New Journey

Alyth's P.O.V.

It was finally 6 in the morning, meaning there's no need to keep guarding Masilta. Monsters never attack a place with inhabitants after 6 in the morning. Ribius and I were so sleepy, especially since we're still very young. Mallo was used to staying up late.

After we leave Masilta, we might never come back. Let's just be honest, the chances of us surviving outside of Masilta are very slim, and I am sure I am not the only one who knows this.

I was thinking (omg you were thinking?). Something has been bothering me for a while. First, I NEED to see how I look. How is it possible? Ever since I was born, my hair was always cut short, and there were no mirrors around. I don't know my hair and eye color for god's sake!

Whenever I ask Mallo, he says I'll figure it out later, and when I ask Ribius, he says he doesn't care. What am I supposed to do then? My hand instinctively went out and touched the top of my head. My hair is dang soft.

...

...

...

Why have I never thought of this? Am I that stupid? Or was I always too busy with this 'magic' stuff? Now that I've learned the basics of Magic, I can focus on other things later. I need to focus on my appearance right now! I get, I get it. I am only 3. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't care about my looks!

I just thought of something. I can just rip out a hair and see what color it is! How have I not thought of this? I reached for my head and held a small piece of hair. However, when I tried to pick it out, a strange sensation of electricity like tingly feeling spiked my hand.

Ah... MALLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-

____________________________Technical Difficulties_____________________________

____________Please Stand By While Our Protagonist Finishes Her Tantrum_____________

Okay, basically, that weird electricity feeling was a magic barrier placed by the all-mighty Mallo-sama. So he's willing to go this far just for me not to see my hair?

Hair is another problem, but how about my eyes? How will I be able to see what color they are? Ugh...

Now that I am starting to give up on knowing how I look like, I think I have to start packing. Mallo asked us to not pack too many things because that could slow us down when we have to go as fast as possible.

I don't have many things to pack, a few books to read on the way and my clothes. I packed only some of my clothes, especially the winter ones, three of my best boots and fighting flats.

Here's a problem. Although I don't read books very quickly, I take a short time to finish them. So, a few books won't be enough to keep me entertained throughout an entire journey that might take years.

I went to Mallo's storage room, where he was packing his stuff.

"Mallo..?" I stared at what he was doing. "What." How- What- Why-

"What are you doing...?" He looked down at the colorful pebble in his hand. "I am putting my stuff in these pebbles." My mouth plopped open. "Wha... You can do that?" He looked at me like I went insane. "Of course. Didn't I already tell you that?" I shook my head as if I was on fire.

"Wait, can I do that with my books? Because you're using magic, right?" He nodded. I ran into the room we all shared and grabbed a few of my books, then, I ran back into the storage room.

"These. Please." I looked at him with irresistible puppy eyes. He sighed, yet grabbed my books and placed them on the carpet-covered floor.

He held a light pink colored pebble in his hand and said a few words. "Ishni Orhae Wel Vi Sakanatri Ebel E Sanda Worat Nihasa Qul Retari."

All my books disappeared with a bright light. I felt lots of pressure, and that was probably aura. The pink pebble glowed, and it seemed like a pink mirror, reflecting a darker magenta deeper inside of it, and it seemed more crystal-like rather than a simple pebble. That was probably due to the magic.

Everything that is touched with magic turns into another version of itself, except much more, holy looking. It's hard to explain, but it turns mystical- almost spiritual.

I stared at the pebble in Mallo's hand as he handed it to me.

__________________________________________

After running into Ribius and telling him about the magic pebbles, he got one too and placed books after books in it.

Mallo got a light green one, I got a light pink one, and Ribius has light red. Mallo filled his rock with so many potions and scrolls and things I don't even... Yeah, let's not talk about that...

After packing everything, I wore a purple dress with a white fur vest and the dress reached past my tiny knees and thick cotton socks that reached up to my thighs. Brown leather boots that were reinforced with candle wax so they don't get wet.

Lastly, I wore a slightly oversized white coat. I tied my Stone with a small and thin wood stripe around my neck. I kissed the Vandestry and it glowed in my hand, then I tied another thin wood stripe around it, and wore it like another necklace, except this one was longer and I put it underneath my dress.

After getting ready, I sat on the couch in the living room. After sitting in silence for a while, Ribius finished and sat next to me, waiting for Mallo.

We sat in comfortable silence until I had to break it.

"Are you okay with it? Leaving without saying anything to Mother Fire..." I said, looking at my Vandestry. He didn't even flinch when hearing about his mother. "It's none of your business."

Geez, no need to be so rude! How can he be so heartless? Just leaving his mom like that... I sighed.

After Mallo got ready, we went outside and Mallo locked his house.

"Are you kids ready? You know we might never come back here again." I grinned widely while Ribius nodded with a small smirk. Mallo sighed with a smile.

We walked throughout Masilta for one last time. Tears were already at the edge of my eyes. Ribius looked indifferent and Mallo was smiling, as if he didn't care that he might never come back here again.

"Mallo, Alyth, Ribius!" I turned my head to find Vinaha. A while ago, I figured something was going on between Mallo and Vinaha. I thought Vinaha liked da-... Da... ???

These days, I am starting to say strange things, and after saying them, I instantly forget what the hell I was talking about. Anyway, I didn't know Vinaha liked Mallo. Though, he doesn't seem to want a relationship between the two.

Vinaha is quite pretty, but she gets on my nerves sometimes. But I still wish for Mallo and Vinaha to start dating. Mallo needs someone in his life.

Vinaha was clearly hiding something behind her back, and my curiosity is gonna kill me...!

"Vinaha?" Mallo questioned. Vinaha hugged (tackled actually) Mallo tightly all of a sudden. After squeezing the damn life out of him, (and Ribius trying to get her off him but to no avail) she cupped his face and kissed his left cheek.

I may or may not have thought they were gonna kiss, so I was all red and turned my head haha...

Mallo looked quite surprised, but smiled and hugged her back. Um, you two... We're kinda in the middle of the village (so many people staring...!) and there are kids here...

Vinaha let go of Mallo (her cheeks were very pink... hmm...) and kneeled in front of me. She held the weird wooden board in her hand... and it turned out to be a mirror.

My hair... It's brown, just like Chocolate...! My eyes are damn pretty green! A normal appearance, if I were to count it using my past life's people, but here in Masilta, most people have blonde hair.

Vinaha here, for example, has blonde hair and green eyes, but what's different about her is the fact that her body figure is very... hourglass-y, and her hair is longer than Vindra's.

Vinaha is also a lot prettier than Vindra. Vindra rarely cared for her appearance because she is a fighter, and Vinaha isn't. I honestly hated Vinaha before, but now, she showed me how I looked. I really am happy.

"Please be careful. Return to us safely..." I smiled at her. "Thanks! We'll come back, I promise!" Here I go, making empty promises... I am turning into one hell of a bastard (You aren't already a bastard?)

Vinaha smiled at us warmly, and before she could start crying, she turned on her heel and walked away (ran, actually). "Alright kids, we're going," Mallo said.

"Finally. I can't wait to kick some monster butt!" I held my hands confidently on my hips. Ribius smirked and we headed towards the village gate.

This is gonna be one heck of an adventure. Hopefully, we don't die though. While walking throughout the village (on their way to the gate), we discussed our plan.

"Alright, to get to the East mountains from here with no stops at all, it'll take at least 2 weeks. If we stop every night, it'll take us a month to reach there. However, with the constant walking and, considering the fact that there will be tons of monsters around, we'll be on guard the entire time, including when we sleep." He explained slowly and carefully.

"Doing this, we'll be wasting a lot of energy, so we need a minimum of 8 hours of sleep, and since it's the snowy season, it'll be hard to hunt many animals for food, so we'll reduce three meals to two meals a day. Especially with the monsters in the area." Eh...? "But I am a child, and so is Ribius! We need the energy!" Mallo shook his head.

"It's too risky. Would you rather have half of your normal energy or die hunting for food?" ...I guess it is pretty risky. "Can't we just fight the monsters who get in our way? Then we can get three meals a day." Asked Ribius.

Mallo shook his head. "First of all, we'll be wasting energy, just going around and fighting whatever monster we see. Second, it'll be way too many stops for us, and we have to get there as soon as possible."

Ribius nodded. "Makes sense, I guess..." We stopped in front of the gate. I smiled lightly. I'll miss this place.

When stepping one foot outside the gate, we heard a voice call. "Ribius!! Wait!!" It's Ribius's mother!

But I felt a hand go around my waist and lifted me off the ground. "M-Mallo? What are you-" I couldn't believe it. Mallo and Ribius started running away from Mother Fire! "Why?! Ribius, why aren't you saying anything?!" I yelled at them.

"You shouldn't get emotional before a battle." I felt a vein throb at my forehead. "But you let Vinaha hug and kiss you!" I punched his chest lightly.

"It was on the cheek, and that's a whole different matter." I felt my teeth become comically large and my hair flared around. "NO, IT'S NOT!!" I yelled.

"Plus, Ribius doesn't want to see her." I stopped shouting and looked at Ribius, who was running next to me (Alyth was picked up by Mallo). "But... what if you never see her again...?" I asked slowly.

"That's even better." I felt anger rise up. Why am I so angry? Why do I want to smack him? Why do I feel... like I've lost someone dear to me...? In the end, I stayed quiet and Mallo set me down after we got far away from the village.

"Since it's still early, we'll be walking until the sun sets down. When it does, we'll find a safe place to spend the night, and one of us will go hunting for food." Mallo explained.

Ribius and I nodded while walking. We had to stay on guard the entire time, and we walked a fairly good distance until sunset.

"Where are we now?" I asked. Mallo summoned a map from his Noota. "We're still near the borders of Masilta. After 2 more days of walking, we'll reach the borders of Courheth." He spoke ever so smartly, but I titled my head.

"Courheth?" He nodded. "Courheth is a nearby village, although it's closer to Sever's borders with Sivilia than to Masilta." I never knew a village like that existed. It must be so small that it can't be shown on the map.

"So our first stop is by Courheth." Concluded Ribius.

Hello!! I am sorry this took hell to write, but crap. The thing is, I am losing motivation because well, my life is super boring, I wake up at 1 - 3 pm each day, and I am barely leaving the house. Especially with Christmas, New Year, and COVID-19.

I'll try to update more often using a schedule because I wasn't using a schedule before...
