Chapter 1 -

The sound of footsteps running in the mud, panicking as monsters headed our way. "It wont work! We have to fall back!" Tsunari shouted. "If we die we fail the quest!"

"If we forfeit now we fail the quest as well!" I shouted back, chucking a grenade backwards. "GRENADE!" Both of us covered our eyes and ears just before the pyro-kinetic flash grenade launching us just a few metres forward. "Tch. I'm almost out of ammo. How are we going to do this?" Tsunari questioned.

"Switch to your plasma shotgun, I've got a new toy I wanna test out." I said. I pull out a new bomb I've been working on and throw it as far as I can back to the monsters. "NOW!" I shouted.

"This better work..." Tsunari muttered to himself. He aims at the flying bomb and shoots it. The plasma had hit the bomb and all hell was going to break loose. The bomb went from inactive to a bright fluorescent orange and after a few seconds, it blew up. The blast had incinerated every living thing within a 500 meter radius just within 8 seconds leaving only us who had deflected it and the unbreakable treasure awaiting us. "Finally! We did it!" Tsunari exclaimed, stretching his arms.

"Of course we did. Who do you take us for?" I asked rhetorically. 'Just some idiots who have too much time to kill apparently and ended up being the best players internationally…..' Is what we are. A screen had popped up in front of each of us saying 'Congratulations! Collect Reward?'. Naturally I pressed yes and out of thin air, a matt black long sword with amazing detail was summoned. 'Archive weapon?' I pressed yes again and it disappeared out of thin air. "Geez! it's nearly 2am!" Tsunari shouted in fear. "If my mum finds out I'm still awake, I'm doomed….. K well I guess I better log out for now. Cya at school Ashido!".

"Don't lose too much HP from your mum." I jokingly say. As he logs out, I'm standing there left with the rustling wind to keep me company. I stare at the clear night sky, glistening with thousands of stars. Each is very different, but stars nonetheless. I reckon I should go to sleep soon too. I quickly check our rank on the leaderboard. 'Yep, as always…. First and second place.' And with that out of the way, I log out too.

I open my eyes, not staring at the sky anymore but rather at the ceiling of my room…. 'ahhhh it's so bright- oops. I forgot to turn off the lights before I logged on'

I got out of my bed and walked to the bathroom. Looking at myself in the mirror as I washed my face. 'I really need some sleep…..' I went back to my room and flopped onto my bed.
