----------------------------------------------------------------
The office fell into a prolonged silence. Undoubtedly, one's memories are the most sensitive and private place, and no one wants their mind to be invaded.
Why does Professor X restrain the use of telepathic abilities?
He is well aware that once he uses this power on others, the possibility of forming genuine friendships is greatly diminished. Who would believe a person who can intrude into their thoughts at any moment?
Even if someone believes it temporarily, that trust won't last long. Once seeds of doubt are planted, it takes a tremendous amount of effort to eliminate them, countless times over.
Take the last incident, for example. Professor X couldn't resist delving into Lynn's mind. Besides being surprised by Lynn's abilities, there was another crucial reason... he knew that Lynn wouldn't be angered by it.
Why? Because Lynn had voluntarily shown himself, mentally prepared for such an intrusion.
So, the investigation failed. Although Professor X was shocked, he wasn't disappointed. But this time was different.
Lynn publicly suggested that he would delve into the memories of the five individuals present and turn it into a documentary?
Doesn't that mean exposing their deep secrets to the public? However, everyone instinctively rejected the idea.
"Don't worry, memory magic works differently than you think. I don't need to enter your mind," Lynn reassured them.
Lynn had anticipated their concerns and explained further, "You just need to recall the events at that time, and I will extract those particular memories. In other words... the things you don't want others to know won't be remembered"
Upon hearing these words, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Legilimency?" Professor X gazed at Lynn intently and pondered, "What memories do you wish to recover?"
"The origins of the X-Men, the conflicts with the Brotherhood of Mutants..." Lynn looked at Wolverine, "And, of course, the most important one, Logan"
It must be said that Wolverine is undoubtedly the mutant who has suffered the most. If he were to make his anguish public, with his current popularity, there's no telling how many people would be moved to tears!
Wolverine frowned, "I've lost my memory. How can I recall anything?"
"Memories are never truly lost; they are merely concealed," Lynn shook his head. "If I'm not mistaken, you occasionally recollect fragments of your past, right? The problem is that you can't connect them or piece them together."
"You're right. I get splitting headaches every time..." Logan immediately believed Lynn's words and nodded vigorously. "If I can regain my memory, I'll do it!"
Lynn then turned his attention to the other three.
"I still have some concerns..." Storm wore a perplexed expression. "Today's incident will undoubtedly attract attention from all sides. Our identities will soon be exposed, and X Academy will no longer be safe. At such a critical time, being so high-profile will undoubtedly arouse the vigilance of human authorities..."
"What if they initiate an operation against mutants and we are unprepared? What about the safety of our students?"
Clearly, Storm had maintained a low profile for many years, and suddenly transitioning to a high-profile position was challenging for her.
"Stop deluding yourself, Professor Ororo," Lynn ruthlessly interjected. "You don't genuinely believe that the existence of X Academy is a secret, do you?"
Storm was taken aback.
"In all these years, the X-Men have not always remained hidden. There must be traces of their past. How many people at the high levels of government, military, and influential corporations that deeply collaborate with the government do you think... are aware of Xavier College's existence?"
As Lynn said this, he was even at a loss for words.
He knew that William Stryker would soon launch an operation against X Academy. And as the person in charge of the military's Weapon X program, William Stryker held the rank of... Colonel.
One can only imagine how many individuals above him were aware of the existence of X Academy.
Storm had believed that Academy X was secure, simply because so many years had passed without any incidents. However, she failed to realize that this place had long become a prominent target.
"The reason no army has invaded is purely due to the fear of Professor X and your abilities, and because they aren't entirely certain!" Lynn hit the nail on the head, mercilessly exposing the truth.
In fact, this was the aspect that disappointed Lynn the most about Professor X and the X-Men. Even if you're a peaceful mutant, you shouldn't naively think you can go unnoticed...
The gun can go off at any moment, yet you believe the other party can't see you? Did you never consider fortifying the defense system of X Academy?
To the point that in the movie plot, when Professor X and several X-Men were absent, the academy was easily captured by a special military force. This was outrageous!
"This..." Storm, Cyclops, and Jean were speechless.
"It remains true: hiding your head in the sand accomplishes nothing!" Lynn spoke and glanced at Professor X. "In fact, if I were the principal of Xavier Academy, I wouldn't keep such a low profile. Instead, I would openly recruit students and proudly champion the cause of mutants"
Open enrollment? Upon hearing these words, the three Storm and the others widened their eyes. "How is that possible? What about the safety of the academy?"
"That's not how security works!" Lynn exclaimed loudly, a hint of arrogance in his eyes. "Professor, during these years at the academy, I've done something else... Would you like to see it?"
Professor X's heart trembled violently. In that very office, Lynn had worn the exact same expression on his face before!
This kid was up to something again! At that moment, even Professor X himself didn't realize the hope that had appeared on his face. "Then... show me?"
"Take a look!" Lynn smiled brightly and, under everyone's suspicious gaze, lightly stepped on the ground.
The void trembled, and dazzling rays of light suddenly appeared, crisscrossing the ground and forming a peculiar and intricate pattern that filled the entire room...
No! Not just the principal's office!
Through the window, the five of them could clearly see a similar pattern of light emerging on the ground of Xavier Academy, extending even beyond the academy's boundaries!
"What is this?"
"A magic circle?"
"Lynn engraved a massive magic circle across the entire academy?!"
"And we didn't notice?!"
In an instant, unprecedented shock and astonishment overwhelmed the minds of the five individuals present.
But before they could ask... The ground shook violently!
Boom!
It felt as if dragons were rolling and roaring from the depths of the earth. Desks and chairs in the office rattled fiercely. The school building seemed on the verge of collapse, yet it remained eerily intact.
The next moment... A peculiar sensation of ascent arose.
Cyclops, with his keen eyesight, suddenly noticed that in the far distance, at least a kilometer away from X Academy, a mountain that had been above his line of sight suddenly became shorter!
And at a speed visible to the naked eye, it descended below the horizon and then... disappeared.
"This is unbelievable!"
An inconceivable and mad idea suddenly dawned upon Cyclops.
The gigantic magic circle that had suddenly materialized.. lifted the entire academy into the sky. X Academy was ascending to the heavens.
