Every delicacy was laid on the table, and they were arranged so beautifully that merely staring at it would make you feel hungry all over again.
Ranging from veggie meals—to non veggie meals. Everything was on the table, and it was so mouthwatering, that even the head maid, Courtney, couldn't believe that it could ever look so beautiful.
The maids in the corridor could only lick their lips in salivation, they all wanted the food, but they couldn't have it, and they could only dream of having the leftovers. Staring at the food, they held onto their stomachs, their stomachs were rumbling now, as they were presently starving from having to stare at such magnificence in front of them.
"I wish I was a royal one," one of the maids told another.
"If your reason for wanting to be royal is the same as mine… trust me… You're not wrong," she replied, and they continued standing there.
Other maids were also discussing how they wished they were given the chance to have a taste of the delicacies, but out of all of them, only one maid kept shut. Ariel.
How could she speak? Who would she even speak to? Everyone had their friends, and they were all chit-chatting, but she didn't have anyone, so she could only think to herself and laugh to herself when she overheard the conversations from the different maids.
Ariel was leaning on the door with a smile on her face, when one of the maids walked to her and tapped her.
"Can't you see?" The maid asked rudely, and she got off the door. "See what?" She asked, as she looked around.
"Oh! She's trying to be sarcastic…well, since you are dumb, I'll tell you myself." Before the maid could continue, she cut her off.
"I get it…you don't need to remind me," Ariel said, "you don't want me standing in front of you, right? You should have just said so." She moved from the spot. She was in no mood to be lashed out at, and for some reason, she wanted to avoid being upset. Likewise, she wanted everything to go on so smoothly.
She walked behind every other maid and stood at a distance, before the head maid walked out of the dining hall. After the head maid walked out, the others couldn't help, but compliment her work, and she gave them all gratitude, telling them how she could not have done it without them and how they were so important in making it happen.
Furthermore, she told them how she'd left some for them in the kitchen and Ariel chuckled to herself, there was no need to be interested in the food because it was certain that there was none left for her. She sighed, as she rubbed her body. It was the least she could do for herself, and she just hoped she wouldn't be punished for taking care of herself because that wouldn't be a shocker to her if she got punished for it.
While she was still in thoughts, she suddenly heard a car approaching, and she knew who it was. Damien. For some reason, she could no longer breathe, so she sneakily made her way through some maids until he got out of the car.
She inhaled deeply before starting to look around, and when she saw that it was taking a long time, she stopped getting scared. She wanted to avoid being there when he would come, as she was afraid something bad would happen.
So, she decided to leave the dining hall for some other place. She didn't have any place in mind to go, but she knew for a fact that she didn't want to be in the same place Damien was.
As she went out, she passed by Damien's car, but didn't look in, she was sure he would have already left his car because, after all, it had been such a long time since he pulled over, so she walked past it. She was mistaken.
Damien hadn't left the car. On walking out of the car, Elle rushed to Damien. She was pleased, and she immediately put her hands around his neck.
"I'm so happy you're back, baby!" She said, as she gave him a peck on the cheek.
Meanwhile, Ariel just stared at the skies, they looked rather peaceful and elegant. They gave her insight as to what life in heaven would look like, and she smiled whenever she stared at them.
"I wish I was part of the stars, I'd be able to watch everyone grow, their little butts…" she chuckled at that, "…their love stories and how they'd play with their parents. I'd make sure no one grows up without parents, and I'll make sure to provide light to the world." She said with a smile.
She decided to look around, it was a peaceful time and when she looked towards Damien's car, she saw how passionately Elle was kissing him and for some reason, it hurt her to the core. She clenched her fists, as she stared at this awful sight. It was so awful for her, and she couldn't explain why.
Damien looked and on seeing Ariel standing and staring at him kissing Elle, he broke the kiss.
"What's wr-" Before Elle could finish her statement, she turned and saw Ariel there. She clenched her fists in anger.
