MEMORY

Sierra watched him sleep. She couldn't tell If he was asleep or not, but he seemed peaceful. This powerful man, capable of infuriating her and then make her feel things without even trying. If the situation were to be any different maybe, just maybe, she'll let herself fall for him. To be consumed in such passion, having a mate was a blessing to all werewolves. But how dare she let herself get carried away by such brazen thoughts, she wasn't just a werewolf. Their situation was a lot different.

It clicked to her that it didn't just matter because it was Seth, but because he was a werewolf, Eleanor would never accept them. Yet, She was just like them. Seth was also an enemy to this park, she can't forget so easily how he tried to ruin her pack before. So many things acting as hindrances to them.

She couldn't imagine herself playing him or manipulating him, he was way too intelligent. Maybe it wasn't him she feared for, but for herself. She didn't know if she was capable of not falling into a trap planted for him. Her eyes flickered to the side of his face on her lap. He was absolutely gorgeous. Even the most powerful men were meek, and humble when they slept. A man's weakest point. She could kill him right now, yet, there he lay.

"What are you thinking?" He whispered still with his eyes shut.

"You're not sleeping?" She asked quietly.

"No. I felt your stare"

"I didn't mean to disturb you"

"No that's fine. And your hands playing with my hair, it's distracting"

"I could take it off" She said taking her hand off his hair but he caught it mid air bringing it back to his head.

"I wasn't complaining."

"Sleep Seth" She said sternly.

"Okay" He muttered. She threw her head back resting it on the chair head, closed her eyes. Faint humming played in her mind, beautiful soft humming. She was taken back to the olden days.

"Mama, come do my hair" Little Sierra yelled. She was small she wear a white cotton dress. She sat before a mirror decorated with ornaments.

"But I'm doing it right" Eleanor said.

"No! Mama does it better" She said defensively.

Eleanor immediately took the appearance of her mother, shifting into the resemblance of Kara.

"Nope, you still aren't my mother. I want my real Ma, go away you fake fake woman!" She rebuked playfully.

"Alright, Alright" Eleanor laughed out before changing to her own self. " Sister! Sister! I'll go fetch her, now be a good girl and stay put" She said and walked away.

Her little self walked into her canopy bed and lay on it waiting patiently for her mother.

The footsteps she recognized first, she could never forget it, her mother was so graceful , her footsteps light and calming. She opened the door gently and walked in, her silk robe sweeping the floor.

"Where's my little princess?" She called.

"Here mama" She stood up on the bed.

"Your hair will turn into knots, come here my darling."

"Brush my hair while I sleep" She said

"No, we'll do it over the dressing mirror" Her mother disagreed.

"No!" Sierra placed her hands by her hips and said defiantly.

"Sierra" Her mother called lovingly. She went to get her but sierra jumped off the bed, running around the room while she was being chased by her mother.

"Don't be stubborn"

"Catch me if you can, ma" She giggled. Her mother shook her hair amusingly before disappearing into nothing, she used her ability seamlessly. Sierra stopped running, eyeing the room annoyingly.

"Not fair!" She protested.

"gotcha" Kara grabbed her, before transforming back to herself.

"Bed, bed!" She kicked against her hold.

"Alright bed it is then." She took the little Sierra to the bed, cradled her in her arms. She hummed a song as she brushed her hair.

"Why can't I do the things you do. Auntie Eleanor can, every other child in the colony can, but I can't"

"That's because you're special. The ability is deep in you, you just have to harness it."

"I want to be able to transform, do the mind thingy, and disappear boom!."

"Soon my dear."

"We're not going back to the big bad man again are we? I don't like him, he hurts you, I like my new daddy Christopher better."

"Christopher is your uncle, my brother honey. And no! we'll never go back to him. Over my dead body" She swore, her kind face covered with anger and hate.

"That day we left -"

"Sleep now honey. Don't think too much about it"

"I won't, but I still have nightmares about him."

"My poor baby. Mama is going to be by your side all night, she'll chase all the nightmares away " She stroked Sierra's cheek.

"Okay Ma" She nods and then proceed to close her eyes , focusing on her mother's soft humming. The memory gradually fades into nothing.

"I still have nightmares, Ma" She said out unknowingly. A single tear drop falling from her eyes.

"Alpha" She heard Asher whisper in her mind. She opened her eyes and quickly cleaned the teardrop, hoping Seth is far gone and he didn't feel her sadness.

"I'm fine, Asher" She turned around to offer him a small smile.

She lifted Seth's head gently from her thighs as she stood up to leave, putting his head on the chair instead. She walked away to the cockpit where Asher was.

"I still think about her" She said to him in the mindlink.

"I know" He replied and pulled her in a hug which lasted for a few minutes.

Seth glanced at them with a small frown, he didn't like the closeness between them and he was more than curious about what she meant by 'I still have nightmares, Ma' he heard her say it and he felt it when she almost cried. There was a tug in his chest, the mate bond always reacting to her every emotion. Who was this mate of his.
