ANOTHER wolf was dead. The anger I felt was threatening to burst out. I specifically had all Alpha-blooded wolves in Dark Mountains move back in the packhouse for the meantime. Ian, one of the pack’s healers stayed in town and here he was, dead.

“He’s gone.” My Beta, Luke, had to restrain Ian’s mother to hold her back as she tried to go to her son.

Melissa, the mother, wept as we surveyed the apartment where Ian stayed when he was in town. Aside from being a healer in the pack, he also was a pharmacist here.

“You need to leave now, Melissa,” I told her.

“I’m not going anywhere. Alpha, that’s my son!” Melissa said, looking at me with desperation in her eyes.

I mind linked Luke to get her away from the bedroom and outside so we can look around without the distraction. As he pulled her away, I turned to face Leo who was now looking down at Ian’s dead body. It was the same mutilation that had been done with the other murders, but this one was noticeably sloppier.
