Tears were threatening to spill and I had to look away from Barry's face to avoid tearing up. My head was turned sideways and I caught Pete walking off the field.

My eyes followed him as he quietly walked away with a hand in the pocket of his jeans and a blank look on his face. The blankness on his gentle face did not deceive me. I knew he was angry and I decided I was gonna let him be. He needs to cool off before I talk to him so we can have a civil conversation.

After the claps and whistles of appreciation and admiration for Barry ended, Barry left the stage and the DJ took over, cranking up a lively music to brighten the emotional atmosphere. Everyone began to jump around, dancing and laughing with their hands and drinks up. I smiled and shook my head.

Slowly, an urge to talk Barry washed over me. I didn't know what I was gonna say to him but I knew I just wanted to talk.
