Laila's POV

I glanced at my wristwatch, it's half an hour now and she's not here yet. I sighed and glanced at my watch again. Soon I saw Angel's car arrived and I was excited, I wanted to meet Flake again after all this years.

"Angel," I called and I was short of words when I saw Flake, she's on a low cut hairstyle with piercings around her ears and nose also her eyebrow, she wore a very short revealing gown and heavy makeup, she looks like a renowned whore.

"Flake," I called "is this really you?" I asked my eyes were already teary and she was excited to see me, tears rushed down her cheeks making my eyes watered.

"Oh my... Laila!" Flake exclaimed

"Flake..." I called and hugged her as she sobbed on my shoulder. Angel too was becoming emotional as well

"It's been so long, so long since I heard from you Laila, you know my life is suffering from an unknown curse of bad luck," she lamented sarcastically

I laughed at her behavior as she took off her shoes.

"It's okay now girlie, we're here for you now,have you been able to reach Amore?" I asked and she sighed sadly

"Amore was forced to marry a man who doesn't even care about her, she's living in bondage now." Flake's voice broke down and Angel face palmed herself, I guess she's already in tears

"What happened to you flake?" I asked in a low tone

"This is my life now baby girl, leave me to my decisions." She said

"You already had a son, what sort of life are you leading him to?" I asked and she became uncomfortable

"Don't involve Gray in this." She warned me and I shook my head

"Oh yes I should, I should Flake, seems like you've forgotten your dreams and goals in life Flake, this is not you flake." I continued and she banged hard on the table

"What did you even know about me? If you had cared to search for me then maybe I won't be like this, you forgot me, yes you forgot your friend and living your life without a Care in the world but I have a 5 years old son to take care of." Flake said and I felt bad, there was an atom of truth in her words, I'm a bad friend.

"I'm sorry Flake, but I promise to make it up to you guys, all my friends." I apologized and she just sobbed, it hurts to see her this way

"I was raped, in college, I was raped by the guy I crushed on, I refused to have sex with him and he invited me to his house, I thought he wanted to return the note he borrowed me, so I paid him a visit." She broke down "He made me this way, he raped me and disappeared from the earth." Flake cried and Sapphire growled lowly.

"I'm so sorry flake, we didn't know you went through that." Angel said as she hugged flake, she was sobbing too and tears flowed down my cheeks

"We are sorry Flake." I said feeling guilty of condemning her. Flake nodded and we all hugged each other

"Let the past be in the past okay?" Flake said and we nodded, smiling at her, she made a funny face and we laughed. Our orders soon arrived, our foods were being placed on the table, as we ate together

"So.. Angel is gonna be a mother soon?" Flake smiled at Angel who blushed and rubbed her protruded stomach passionately

"It's a girl." She said timidly

"You love him don't you?" She asked and Angel nodded

"So much." Angel added.

I later get to meet Gray, Flake's son, he was so handsome and I sensed that he has a wolf blood but I brushed it off, a werewolf can't go about raping humans, he will surely have problems surrounding him, and he should have a mate right? Gray was really handsome and tall for his age, he looks mean but loving inside. I decided to meet with Flake alone, I wanted to help and I pray she accepts it, we met at a restaurant after my work, I decided to disinvest all my savings, I should help her.

"I love Gray's aura, he looks like he would be a ruler or so." I said to Flake who laughed nervously

"It's just inborn and he is strong too, he beats up any one who intimidates me even at his little age, and he's the reason I wanted to live again. After I birthed him, I fell in love instantly with his beauty and charms , I decided to do anything in my power to bring him up. He's so brainy that the proprietress decided to skip him two classes, he's in grade 3 even at age 5." Flake boasted and I saw the love and affection in her eyes and she looks like a determined and caring mother, I felt sad for some reason

"What's the problem sweetheart?" Flake asked and I shook my head

"Never mind, I want to offer you a job, but I'll have to speak to my boss first, I want you to stop your present job, for the sake of your son okay? He doesn't look like a kid that deserves all this." I said to her as tears fell down her cheeks, I rubbed it off.

"Gray don't talk much, I barely hear him say or ask anything, he doesn't even have friends..." Flake broke down "I think he hates me and hates his life..." She broke down totally and I consoled her.

"No, no, don't talk like that, he doesn't hate you, he loves you but seems like it's natural of him not to talk much or flaunt emotions." I said to her

"I wish he could be as playful and childish as other kids, but he behaves different." She dried her eyes

"Some kids are like that okay? You've gotten one special and blessed handsome kid, you should be proud of him no matter what it takes okay?" I explained to her and she nodded

"You know.. I didn't get to complete my education, my parents saw me as a disgrace and chased me away from home, They apostatized me and I had no one to run to." She explained and I sighed, families only cared about their reputation, not even the one being hurt. She rubbed my palm

"I heard everything, I'm sorry about that." Flake said and I knew instantly that she was referring to my family issues, I nodded

"You don't have to be sorry okay?" I said to her and I hugged her.

"It's already getting late, I should go." Flake said standing up to leave

"Umm.. Flake, I have something for you and I do hope you accept it, it's from my heart." I stated and walked to my car, I collected the big envelope and handed it to her, it was a $3million and I do hope she accepts it, flake is not the type that accepts this huge amount of money. She peeked into the envelope and jaw dropped with her wide eyes

"No, no Laila, I can't...." She started and I shushed her.

"Don't say that flake, I owe you a lot, it's also a way of asking your forgiveness and I don't want Gray seeing you like a bad mother when you truly love him. I promise to get you the job too." I assured her and she palmed her mouth and sobbed

"I promise to be your sister in the next world." She said and I chuckled softly as I hugged her

"My God Laila, this is just too much, I don't know what to say... I'm really grateful." Flake said and I smiled at her, she's just as innocent as ever, she doesn't deserve this evil world. A tear slid down my cheeks

"You're crying.." She said

"So are you." I replied and we laughed and hugged each other....
